Photographers, I need some recommendations
My Mom's birthday is next week, and we're going to get her a digital camera. I work at Best Buy, so anything from www.bestbuy.com only please(avoid online only stuff). Trying to not spend more than $500. Her old camera is a film camera, so this will be her first digital. Her old one has those interchangeable lenses so she can have one that can zoom in on stuff pretty far away.
I was thinking of maybe going with the Canon PowerShot S5 IS, but I'll accept any input.

Welcome to wallet pain:
Digital SLR Sorry to say so, but stepping back from a good film camera to use a limited digital camera is no fun. If you buy digital, try to go for a camera that is compatible with her current lenses.
