Ace Combat: (many)
Hullo. I don't know what the outlook is for newbies coming to the form, asking making a request, and then going back to lurking forever, but I hope I'm not greeted with too much hostility.
Nevertheless, I'm really blown away by the artists that remix at this site, you guys really have talent here, so awesome! Kudos all around. With all of the talent and variety of remix floating around here (never thought I'd listen to top gear from the NES again), I'm a bit surprised that I wasn't able to find any remixes from any of the Ace Combat games, so I thought I'd request some. Here are a few tracks I'd love to see a remix of, now I pick them not only because I like them, but because they also show off the variety of music found in the series as a whole. I'll give a breif description so you know what you're clicking on and may not have to sort through all five. (click on the ones that interest you! Invincible fleet, has some cool oonts, ominous theme. Lit fuse. Orchestral with some horns Takes a while to get there, but good release at the end. Commona. Arcade like theme with a "radical" electric guitar. Warning line. Getting really arcade-ish now, has some funk to it. Zero. A pretty grand score with some spanish guitar. Thank you for taking a look, and don't be afraid to browse through the full soundtracks. if those five don't do it for you, and you're looking for something in particular to satisfy some major artistic desire, feel free to ask and I can point you to a song in the (very expansive) ace combat ost that may get the job done. Again, thanks for reading! I'll probably go back to lurking now. |

Some of my favorites composers are from NAMCO sound team: Keiki Kobayashi, Junichi Nakatsuru, Hiroshi Okubo, and former members Shinji Hosoe and Ayako Saso.
You're only referencing a few ACES here, but there are some great tunes in ACX & X2, Fire of Liberations, the recent Assault Horizon and of course Electrosphere. Back in 2009, I swore if I ever became good at remixing, I'd make a project for that serie in a heartbeat. Now it's 2012 ...and I still suck at arranging VGM. ;P That said, you might get lucky when Brandon's Modern Games project get started, since AC passed the selection during the first round. Additionally, if you can get your hands on it, check the Ace Combat Respect arrange soundtrack. Very cool remixes from the first 'Air Combat' up to 'Unsung War', including a stellar remix of Ghost of Razgriz by wata. |

As for the newest, Assault Horizon probably has the best soundtrack of an AC game to date, but since this community focuses or retro-games, I thought it would be too new. My favorite tracks from it are Fighter (Keiki Kobayashi) and White Devil (Kobayashi). That guy really is a great composer. Quote:

Yes, Yes and Yes! Anything from the Ace Combat games would be good source material for and re mix or even an Album. The theme for The Unsung War has been on my iPod since I first got one years ago.

Armory-Ace Combat 3
Montage 011 (BumpTrack) I too am a huge fan of Unsung War's ost but AC3's sountrack has a special place in my heart for changing the way I looked at music for a game. Nothing special, but I hope you enjoy.

I have to say, Ace Combat 04 is what really gave me a deep appreciation for video game music. Overall, NAMCO's been setting higher and higher bars on music quality since Y2K. Ace Combat "Xeno" and "Tales Of" franchises have some of the best soundtracks to come from a game since the start of the century and very few games outside of NAMCO have been able to compete with their quality and variety of music as of late. I can think of only Kid Icarus: Uprising being a non-Namco game that really hit it out of the park as of late when it comes to overall OST Quality.
