Well, I was hoping to get the first KH2 mix posted, but you beat me to it. And this is some beautiful piano work as well.
Good work. Keep it up.

I would say this piece is nothing new, nothing bad, it is Darkness of the unknown listened too with fresh ears as if listened too for the first time.
It joins the masterpieces that are remixed of this underremixed game series so far

Very, very nice piece. Though I might be a little biased in my opinion, seeing as how Darkness of the Unknown is my favorite video game composition of all time.

Oh hell... this is outright amazing. I am biased towards this naturally being a piano buff and a KH lover, but... this is something like what I'd want to aspire towards as a submission in the end >< Thank you for this.

Wow. Great piece. I'm a Yoko Shimomura fan as well (the Darkness Nova from Legend of Mana being my favorite vgm--I'd like to hear that remixed), and I didn't know she did KH2; maybe I'll have to look into playing it, or at least hear the OST.
I can definitely tell it was done by Shimomura without hearing the source, and you captured the epic magnitude of her work.

Very nice. Pleasant even tough the mood is dark. The interplay is fun to listen to, good exchanges there. I bet this was fun to make! My critisism is that it's not as diverse dynamically as it could be - most of the sections are rather loud or louder - a really quiet section might have been very nice. Or other piano doing quiet things against the other piano being loud. That said, there is plenty of variation in the arrangement.
Tempo also keeps static. Although that contributes to the piece having sort of a forward momentum throughout, some sort of an interlude with a different tempo (slowing down for a moment) might have actually highlighted that momentum. In any case, overall, I like the piece very much, and it's a keeper. --Eino |

Well done! This really is a superb arrangement of a gorgeous song. A worthy remix of what I consider to be one of my favorites from the Kingdom Hearts series.

Damn, this is an exciting battle. :O
I love the modulations you throw in there, and the ebb and flow of this, it really breathes well. There are some really nice complex tone colors in there, and some of the riffs are completely badass. I'd have preferred the sound to be a little closer, but this works well enough for me. Things get a little muddled on speakers, but on headphones the panning makes it work. Cool stuff, this is aptly named. |
