Default OCR00135 - Yie Ar Kung Fu 'Mists of Yie-Ar'

Yie Ar Kung Fu 'Mists of Yie-Ar'

It's amazing these one and two-hit wonders - there's been so many cool remixes done over the years by some great remixers and then all of a sudden they just vanish. Rimco is one of these. Without a doubt, Rims knows what he's doing when it comes to his mixing. I like the sound in this effort - even if it isn't widely panned the mix still possesses some very nice sounds and you can tell a lot of work has been put into blending each part into one another rather than going off loops. What interested me the most was the deep piano line playing behind everything. The waves of reverb do a lot for the track, and isn't too much so you can hear anything properly. I enjoyed listening to this, I just wish that perhaps a bridge or two was added to break apart the mix.

Nice and relaxing song with beautiful melody! Not bad at all but that I agree with Jivemaster, some breaks would`ve been nice but except that it`s a nice tune :)

Default Jean-Michel Jarre's original tune

If anyone is interested, this is indeed a Jean-Michel Jarre tune; it is called Les Chants Magnétiques 4 (Magnetic Fields Part 4), and can be found on the Chants Magnétiques (Magnetic Fields) album, released in 1984. It's cool remixed this way. :P

Default Lol!

I love how Jivemaster and even Pretzel himself drooled over this song in the day... this song was totally a thrown-together-in-an-hour effort. I'm glad you liked it though... from time to time, I go back and tinker with it trying to make it better, so maybe soon you'll see v2.0 or something, hehe. Thanks for all the kind words... makes me feel special. :P

Default I'm carrying Rimco's children.

Hmm, it seems this remix is titled "Mists of Yie-Ar now. Interesting, or something. Oh well, this song is still awesome, and is unfortunately void of comments. I owe it to Rimco to give a few words about this wonderful song.

This song is wonderful. It seriously kicks me in the nuts every time I listen to it. And since it's a remix of Yie-Ar Kung Fu, it's definitely some sort of Karate kick to the nuts. Ouch.

Great song.

Default Jean-Michelle Jarre? hehe... it's Jean-Michel Jarre :)

it's from his "Magnetic Fields" album, it's the fourth track.

(there's a pun in french btw, it's "Chants Magnetiques", which means both "Magnetic Songs" and "Magnetic Fields"

Ahhhhhhh.... I haven't played Yie Ar Kung Fu for like 10 years!!! Man, this brings back some great Commodore 64 memories with my sister and cousins. Wow! :D

I didn't even know the song was originally made by someone else, this is cool information.

Hmm... I can't remember if I ever played this game or not, but I love the song! Absolutely beautiful. ^_^

So why am I downloading a song if I don't even recognize the title? Well, it was mentioned that this probably wasn't receiving as much attention as it should, so I figured what the hey, since I was planning to see how the song for Doom turned out. This was definitely worth listening to. ^_^ Good job.
