Default OCR00430 - Rygar 'Caverns of Sagila'

Rygar 'Caverns of Sagila'

This remix really experiments with new sounds and a lot of distortion. It’s always good to here a song that somebody made who has the guts to play with something different, and then succeeds at making it sound really excellent. While the distortion on the bass sounds a little heavy to me at some points, this whole mix is really well arranged and makes my ears ache for more like this. You hear that Mr. Praslowicz? More!

Starts off quiet, but builds and builds for about the first 40 seconds. I like the buildup, very suitable and enjoyable. My recommendation is don't have the speaker volume too high, cause this one does get up there. Nevertheless, I like this, very good experiment, and a very good remix! :)

max it up for the intro (that BASS -- funk-ay), but the rest is already loud..what the hell, i'm young, my ears can take it. Amazing stuff from praslowicz. rock on

This is just a great remix that I've had on my playlist for some time. The intro and the ending are awesome, and the middle is the standard awesome solid and grungy guitar playing. The piano manages to fit in, also, without being too cheesy.

One thing, though. It's subtle but towards the end the bass is actually a couple of beats ahead of the melody. I've listened to this remix periodically over about a month, and I just noticed it a bit ago. Still, this a very good remix.

Wow - a remix that stands out for a number of reasons.

a) based on an obscure game

b) no samples used

c) real electric guitar (no MIDI!)

Well hey, three's a number, right? Anyway, this remix captures the spirit of the game. Personally, when I played it, I had no idea as to what the backstory was or why I should care for the character. What hooked me was the music, the challenge, and the mystique of the setting (I couldn't ever figure it out, but it seemed to be akin to Conan the Barbarian). Also it being one of the first games (in my recollection) to use multi-level backgrounds caught me eye - not cuz I knew what it was, but because it just looked cool. ANYWAY - - - the remix. It starts off soft - to me that reminds me of how I started off in the game - getting used to the controls. But then, after the build-up, K.Pras fires off a round of musical hellfire that covers the field, and I am now confident in my gaming and quest. I finally figure out what the heck "Attack and Assail" mean and can power up my weapon. The drum lick kicks in on the riff and I'm stoked - pulverizing the bad guys...then it begins to fade...I realize you can't save the game...you have to get it all at once...so the piano accompanies my nintendo on pause as I go get a drink of water...then back in the action!

Another perspective, this remix would be awesome as music in a video game. When I hear it, I think of hardcore strong guy with diskarmor scaling a mountain while killing monsters.

Schmeh, maybe it's just me.

This could be one of the best Video Game Music Remixs I've ever heard. This scene in the game I always thought had the best music. This remix keeps the essence of the music, and amplifies it tenfold. This is exactly what a remix should be.

BTW...How many of you are happy that with having emualtors, you don't have to sit there and beat Rygar in one day? I know I am

This is one of the best remixes on this site. A good break from the usual trance/techno fair. At times the distortion is a bit too much but other than that this song is almost perfect.

Sorry to dig this back up, but I have one big request to make of Sir Pras: please fix that bass-is-two-beats-ahead problem in the song and re-send it, please? It's an unbelievably kick-arse song, especially those painfully heavy guitars at the 2:00 mark, and to have a version that doesn't take all that heaviness and muck it up in the end would be sweet :)

Pretty decent mix, the volume is a bit inconsistant, but otherwise not bad. THe call and response between the lead and rhythm guitars is my favorite part.
