Akumajobelmont & Level 99: Evil Zone ending theme remix

This here'd be a remix of the credits theme 'Sorrow Long Day' from the Japanese version of Evil Zone for the Playstation. The game was an awesome anime fighter, that while not technical in the slightest, more than made up for the fact with plenty of spectacle. I've got a thing for B-grade fighters :D

Stevo has kindly agreed to partner with me, bringing his serious guitar talents to the mix. Thanks again man!!!

I'm planning on this being a complete and utter throwback to the 80's... the best 80's anthem never heard, and it's coming along very well, I think!
I only started this today, so it's fairly short at the moment, but all the basics are there... no guitar yet though! There's no real structure yet... it's only the intro and first chorus so far (which is repeated twice, though this will change).

I am in the process of writing vocals for this, which I'll be performing myself. I hope to have them written and the majority of them recorded over the weekend.

Lemme know what you think of it so far, and enjoy!

This is a very nice start to the remix. I can hear the source, but you've definitely took it and transformed it into the 80s style you mentioned. Everything so far seems decent. Volumes, EQ's, and soundscape are all very good. My only suggestion, maybe its cause i'm a metal guy, it to bring the kick drum out a little more. Other than that, can't wait to hear it with guitars. :D

never heard of this game, but cool source tune. works well with the style here. the synths and percussion have a very nice clean sound, but the mix is a bit on the quiet side overall. not much to say yet, looking forward to an update :D

Thanks for the comments! Yeah, I've kept it a fraction softer for the moment... still got the guitars and vocals to add to the mix, and didn't wanna leave no room to play with them a bit. I'll pump up the volume once everythings done :D

Thanks again :D

Small update... just some really, really rough vocal ideas for the chorus. They don't sound too crash hot at the moment... They'll definitely be re-recorded. Not mixed in properly yet, but it'll get there :D

Lyrics are here:

In the end, does it justify the pain he tries to fight.
On his own, and alone he finds the strength to travel through the night,
Through the ice, this soldier stumbles through the cold to find the one's he used to know.
Where did they go?; And who is there to soft his blow?

Robbie,

Awesome stuff. I don't think anyone can do 80's better than you. Loving it. vox seemed a but off but as you said you're going to rerecord and mix it.

You are filling a huge gap in the music left by Modern Talking, Pet Shop Boys, Bad Boys Blue and many others.

Looking forward to another great song from you. Best of luck!

I know its a Necropost, but everything of this Remix fits so well to the Original mood of the Game-ending. I hope you will still continue and finish it Akumajo.. it is gorgeous!

Also gonna necropost because HOLY GEEZE, MAN. I've never heard of this game and didn't listen to the source first, but I was dancing less than one second in. I love this!! I actually prefer your upbeat version over the original... any chance this isn't completely dead?
