OverClocked ReMix Releases Free Fan Tribute Album, Final Fantasy V: The Fabled Warriors ~WIND~

FAIRFAX, VA--OverClocked ReMix today released its 18th album, Final Fantasy V: The Fabled Warriors ~WIND~. The album consists of nine arrangements of composer Nobuo Uematsu's original score to the 1992 Super Nintendo game, Final Fantasy V, developed and published by Square. It is available for free download at http://ff5.ocremix.org, and is the first of a planned series of five albums honoring the game's soundtrack.

The Fabled Warriors is not affiliated with or endorsed by Square Enix.

"I have always felt that Final Fantasy V's soundtrack has a bit of lightness to it that other Final Fantasy soundtracks eschew in favor of darker, moodier themes. This game always struck me as more of an adventure than any of the others in the series, and Uematsu's score grabs that and runs with it," said Shariq Ansari, director and creator of the album.

The first four albums will follow the four crystals in the game, with themes arranged for all of the corresponding jobs, and the last album will cover new jobs introduced in the 2006 Game Boy Advance release, as well as serve as an endcap to the project.

"Make no mistake, folks: WIND isn't 'disc one' of The Fabled Warriors. It's a wonderful, complete album that stands on its own; each subsequent album—WATER, FIRE, EARTH, and DAWN—will also be able to stand on its own," stated Ansari. "I hope you're all looking forward to hearing them as much as I am."
