I was so sad when I couldn't make it to NYC Distant Worlds this past spring. I would have loved to hear Gilgamesh battle theme in person! I am a visual artist and not a musician; nevertheless, Nobuo Uematsu's music has been a significant influence in what I do.

The score for Final Fantasy 7 still moves me to this day, his arrangements really touch my soul. And the fact that he is cool enough to make heavy metal arrangements of his compositions just makes him that much more awesome!

His PS1 Final Fantasy scores pretty much define my childhood. I always tear up every time I hear the world map song from FF7. It's really bizarre to believe that once upon a time the only thing that mattered in my world was his music. I didn't even really know of any other musicians until I was like, 8 or 10.

So if I ever met Uematsu I'd probably cream my pants.
