The design is reminiscent, but the robots in OMF are supposed to be huge (as in a number of stories tall, like mechs) and are piloted by humans, so I don't think so.

I've heard some people saying that the yellow robot is from Cyborg Justice, and that the elf chick could be from Misery or Cave Story. The devil is really a crapshoot since so many games could be attributed to him.

The movie looks alright. I'd like it more if Zangief was the main character. Just make the movie all about him and it'd be fantastic.

I'm afraid that it'll just be that one scene that has those characters and the rest of the movie will have little to no actual VG references. But that doesn't matter because people these days only care to have a slight reference to something for them to think it's cool and paying homage, so give them something to facebook over and you'll sell millions.
