I never actually heard about remixing till I came to this site and what I would like to know is what kind of stuff do you buy to preform a remix of anything?

You don't buy stuff to remix. You buy stuff to make music. You don't perform a remix, you compose it in your studio, make an mp3 of it and then spam other people to hell with it.
