Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear 'Mystery of a Planet'
This one ties in the beat of a classic James Bond 007 song with a slick medolic tune. While I suppose the beat could get annoying if you listened to it too much, it fits excellently with the rest of the piece. Excellent work Jared Hudson, keep it up. |

This beat is very much like want Grant Kirkhope does (listen to Goldeneye and Perfect Dark music), and was the first thing i noticed. Otherwise its pretty well built like a movie score, lots of atmosphere and very flowing.

Oh MAN! Made me wanna suit up in some tight ash-gray spandex and sneak around my neighbor's yard.
I loved this since the moment I first heard it right before my algebra class. Very very smooth, ambient, and mysterious work. I loved the game and I love this song. 10/10 |

People are going to think I have no standards because I've been enthusiastic about so many OCR mixes this week. The truth is, however, that I haven't felt the need to comment on the many average mixes that have come out and have rarely had time to review the great ones. This week however, there have been so many good pieces coming out that I've been rocked out of my cradle of apathy. This is a well executed military/spy score piece that reminds me a little of the original sneaking music used in Xenogears (in terms of feel, not sound quality.) Strong stuff that just feels real good to have there in the background. So good I don't feel the need to go into any details or nitpick.
5 Stars Per's OCR Star System: 5-One of my favorites. 4- I'll listen to it a fair amount but it lacks that extra "something" to be great. 3- Above average but not enough so to get much playtime in my list. 2- Average 1- Lacking

hmm... nice job Hudson.
Trying to cook up words for this... it is a tad difficult to explain this. I give this a 9/10 (A 10 would require a kickass choir being the predominant.. tant... damn it... me gonna make a choral mix now...)

Not what I was expecting at all, and far far better than the claustrophobic sneakfest I had envisioned.
This is super spacious, with some great rhythmic interplay between the drums and bass, light washes of strings the rise and fall, and beautiful piano. I really like the sparing use of the left hand piano, normally i'd consider it to be on autopilot , but here it not only fits, but enhances the material. I don't remember the original at all, but I simply love what i'm hearing. Highly recommended. |

A sneaky, yet epic feel? Preposterous!
Really nice work, I found myself really into this track. Definately a keeper.

love the synths in the background that sound like plucking violins, set a very unique mood. the way it progresses almost feels like sneaking out of the darkness into the light. feels like spy music taken to the next level. good work, you've won over a new fan!
