Excuse me, but this just kicks ass . . short little punk ditty bout link, with great lyrics, excellent arrangement, and well . . it's just GREAT! Wish it were twice as long though. You must download this; it's small, it kicks, and you're a soulless heathen if you don't leech it this instant. Be sure to visit the band's page at mp3.com for more of their work . . .
NOTE(!):
This ReMix is NOT by System of a Down, as a few hundred of you have written in suggesting, but by The Rabbit Joint, as indicated. Please don't mail me - I've checked with The Rabbit Joint and verified with two dozen hardcore fans on SoaD's website. This song has been incorrectly labeled as being by SoaD by *someone* who then perpetuated the error by sharing the file on Napster. Case closed :)
His Infinite Machine on 2014-06-19 23:49:23You are a very silly person and I think I love you.
No homo.
Argle on 2013-07-02 14:30:34It's funny. Back in the day I, like many people, thought this was
SOAD. Singer does sound like Serj Tankian, or at least the manic
energy and weird inflections of Serj. Nowadays it's transparently
obvious that the production quality is nowhere in the league of
SOAD. Plus the music doesn't sound anything like them. Yet back in
the day I desperately wanted to believe that SOAD was cool enough
to do a Zelda cover.
Crulex on 2011-10-06 10:20:18Hahaha, I can't believe how many people on other sites still think
this is by either SoaD or Weird Al. To be fair, in some places it
kinda does sound like SoaD I suppose, but the Weird Al thing, I
don't hear it myself. Either way, it's a nice little tune that
probably benefitted from the false label anyway by being heard by
non-OCR folks, so it's a bit of a win/loss and then win again. The
song is great itself and even though it's a bit too short, it's a
great little bite sized ReMix.
docnano on 2011-07-10 18:54:11I believed this was SoaD for the longest time. XD
Short 'n sweet, this is one of the most memorable early OCR
entries, and one I'll be listening to for years to come.

SubNormal J3 on 2011-02-19 19:29:150:30 So you'll be brave
And not a sissy coward
What else can be said. This is classic OCR at its best. Silly song,
but the production is good. I've lost track of how many times I've
listened to this one.
Skinner3D on 2011-01-24 18:08:45Ok correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Weird Al do a
cover/spoof/parody of this song?
I see the whole discussion about it not being a System song, but it
doesn't bother me either way.
I think it would be hysterical if Weird Al did indeed parody it,
since it wan't a mainstream artist that wrote it. :)
Frungi on 2010-10-07 01:22:57Someone (Rabbit Joint?), somewhere, did an extended version of this
song, with verses about fighting big bats in dungeons and getting
the owl to help him out of the Lost Woods. Does that version exist,
aside from having its lyrics posted once on one forum?
Jack Polo on 2009-12-08 18:25:12As such is the case with many before me, this was my "first" ReMix
ever heard, although I didn't know it at the time. Cool to hear it
again after however many years it's been, though. Somewhat
interesting that Zelda's title theme has given birth to such gems
as this (see also: "The Music of My Groin" :-P).
Emunator on 2009-12-03 01:36:21This is probably "technically" the first OCRemix I've ever heard...
of course I listened to it long before I ever knew about this site
:-P I remember hearing this and passing it around to all my friends
in middle school and watching their amazement at how "System of a
Down cares about video games!" and whatnot. How innocent I once
was...
This is a classic though :-) Glad to finally hear where it really
came from!

I can see where the comparisons to Serj Tankian come from; the
falsetto harmonies, quirky shaping and grizzled yelling are
signature for the System of a Down singer, but I'm pretty sure
that's where the similarities end. As far as production quality,
this doesn't even come close to a SoaD soundtest.
As a bit of music, I would never select this as an important
piece. But from a historical perspecitve, it's a very crucial,
very significant monument for the site. A lot of people,
including myself, should be indebted to it, but that doesn't mean
I have to praise the music itself. It's nothing more than some
slapped together lyrics jammed over a barebones, straightforward
cover of the Zelda theme. No magic to speak of for me.
It's a good thing no one is asking you, then. Sounds like you're
just jealous. At any rate, it's a fun, energetic rendition of the
song that became famous because it's good. Congratz to Rabbit
Joint.

Yes, even after all this time, there are still people that belive
SoaD did this.

Good god, how are people still pushing this. Isn't there a
statute of limitations for false info or something?
I say let it be. Its too late to convince people otherwise
now.
Besides, its not like its hurt the popularity of the track :D
BTW, this is awesome.
