Something about doing Zelda using Jazz must appeal to ReMixers, as we do have a fair share of Zelda 'Jazz' ReMixes here, with this worthy addition bringing that count up one notch. I might add that my own techno ReMix even has a jazz flute solo I somehow managed to insert. This submission, a laid-back, well-arranged, short but good track uses a decent saxophone sound, some really excellent riffage at certain places, and heaping quantities of 'groove' to make it worthwhile. If Link gave up the whole princess-saving thing and joined a krazy trio of lounge Kats, this is what one of their late-night performances at a ritzy, run-down, and cooool bar might sound like. Credits to Wide from the Silentworld group of ReMixers for accomplishing a lot in a small amount of time / space!

There is interpretation and all, but it's just the same melody 3 times with instruments shifting lead duties. Samples are bleh, the instrument timing is too loose, when the drums are set in stone, and it's not really interesting. Sorry dude.

And what the hell's with the pitch wheel? Can a real sax even oscillate within such a wide range? Only adds to the corniness...

I would rate it an 8 on a scale of 1 - 10.

only that its realy not all that original. Jazz is about expressing yourself
Right. The underlying groove just stays the same. It's okay to begin with, but it gets stale by the end.
I don't think you CAN synthesize jazz. It just has too much spirit built in that needs to be there. Good jazz is... alive. The music itself is almost alive.
