Leaving in less than an hour for New York City, but have just enough time to post this new age Chrono Cross ReMix from newcomer Chronosis, while cleverly reverting to the tried-and-true trick of using Judge-quotes(tm) as padding. Right, then. This time Digital Coma hit the nail on the head, and basically summed up my own estimation of Chronosis' work: "Soothing and serene; quite evocative of a dreamscape atmosphere. This does start off just as the original does, albeit with a liberal coating of delay feedback on the bell lead, but gradually grows out of its roots and fills itself out with shufflebeat percussion, backdrop chorals, and an attractive piano improv. A few jitters with the piano and a bit repetitious towards the end, but on the whole there are no noticeably staggering flaws for a mix of this length that pleasingly pays respect to its source." - new age/ambient isn't the easiest genre to make really interesting - it ends up being more atmospheric, something to get lost in. But Chronosis does add the requisite extra touches to keep things progressing, and thus the arrangement does have a forward flow to it. The "jitters" DC refers to I hear most flagrantly towards the very end of the piece, where there are some (yes, he's going to use that controversial phrase again) "wrong notes", which is a shame because the whole piece is very smooth and the last impression it leaves is a little shaky. Other than that, though, this is a good example of a competent new age-style John Tesh-o-rama arrangement of Chrono Cross, fit for consumption by any and all that dig the genre and/or the series.

Nice floaty piano fare. The ending does snap you out of the dreamscape a little, due to the piano work not clicking into its right place 100%, which I've learnt was intentional. I must admit I did tilt my head at those moments, but I don't think it necessarily sounds rotten.
Despite the deep sound, I think this is a very simple-natured mix with clear aspirations and some very ear-pleasing moves to show. A good zone out, feel good mix.

There isn't a lot of development texturally, but maybe too much work there would ruin the vibe.
Either way, this one is good listeninz, check it out CC fans. :-)

Often...late at night, when I'm drunk or what not, I visit this site, download the latest mixes and "discover" them by accident a few days later. Such is the case with this masterpiece.
One day, just as my robo-fry peak was ending, this song came on. My room was suddenly filled with beauty. But alas...the feeling overwhelmed me and I failed to see the name.
My next trip into Chronosis' realm of wonder, I made sure to write down the name of the song. It is now in my regular rotation, it's flowing melodies soothe me either on my way to work or back home. (I so hate work. It is pure evil. But I suppose maybe I only feel that way because I work in games. I dunno). But either way, this is one of those songs that will stick with me forever.
Thank you.

Second, those "wrong notes" -- Wrong Notes is really a very bad way to describe what is there. Creative Liberty on the Original Theme is what is meant when they say 'wrong notes'. They're not wrong, I deviate a little from the main theme (one note inserted between the space of two notes). So to quickly answer that one : yes, it was deliberate, mostly becuase the end is supposed to be a piano improv, or at least that's the way I intended it to sound. Like it or hate it.. there you have it.
Thanks for everything folks.

My only gripe (very small one) is that I think the clock ticking goes on for a little too long. It's a really nice effect, but I thought it got a little tiresome after about 30 seconds.
I didn't "hear" any wrong notes in the piano part. Perhaps I wasn't paying close enough attention or something, but I think the piano is executed really, really well.
Anyway, really good job, Mr. Chronosis. I hope you'll keep making beautiful music like this.
Fray.
