Last but not least & making his OC ReMix debut comes Ivan Hakštok, whose inverted circumflex "š" makes him approximately ten times cooler than were he simply "Ivan Hakstok," and also provides a nice test of our MySQL UTF8 support. While few of the tracks on Be Aggressive! offer any time to rest, Ivan offers a sweet rock jam that's actually a little less metal and more anthemic & melodic, at times even bordering on pop:

"I've never played Gunstar Heroes, but after this album project was announced, I checked out the soundtrack and thought it was pretty cool, so I decided to claim a track. The source for this is called "Heroes - Reprise for Yellow," and I decided to make it sort of an 80s rock song with the most prominent instrument being the synths, which I think worked out quite well. I haven't got much else to say, I'm always struggling with words in these submission comments (seriously, it takes like 2 hours to write them xD)."

Ever so slightly uneven timing on the intro chugging @ 0'19 is the only real nit I have to pick with an otherwise highly enjoyable rock track; when that delayed, soaring lead guitar enters at 0'38" and things take a step back, it's like a feeling of being suspended in midair for a split second; very free, open, & positive overall vibe, and I like that synth lead gets its own time in the spotlight. Bell pads seal the eighties deal with dem pleasant, tinkling timbres, and overall this is a cogent, enjoyable respite from some of the more aggressive tracks on the album, while still very energetic & toe-tappin' in its own right. Excellent debut from Ivan H. that serves as a slightly sweeter eighties-rock desert to today's menu of assertive, momentous, and - indeed - aggressive arrangements, all paying tribute to one of the greatest Genesis games and an iconic entry in the run & gun genre. Congratulations to Ivan on the mixpost debut, DusK & Mokram on a successful album release, all contributing artists for putting together a lean, mean, aggressive lineup of killer arrangements, Treasure for making some unforgettable 16-bit gold, and Norio Hanzawa for his amazing music!

Be downloading the album, be enjoying the musics, be tweetin' & facebookin' the news, and above all else... Be Aggressive!!

For whatever reason this remix is significantly more difficult to find on Google than other ones.

Awesome debut, Ivan! Glad to see you finally make it to the front page with such a rockin' 80's mix. So in love with that guitar!
