  1. I've never understood this dichotomy of "Shit on the Radio". Music is music is music is music and that is all there is to it. What is one artist or art VS another? What is depth and why should I care about it if I enjoy that which is already being played? But my real question is: why would I limit myself to what I can enjoy by inventing invisible terms that have no objective value as measures to which an art must be classified and heavily segregate it from everything else? It just seems like a lot of work to justify turning the radio off.
  2. Thats fine. Honest to God we will finish it up, but Lord its just one after another all summer and into fall for me. It just can't be priority right now.

  3. Did you get my check?

  4. I just imagine a lot of knocking of knees and footsie.
  5. That is the most uncomfortable game of chess I've ever seen.
  6. So..... a whole soundtrack like this? http://www.zshare.net/audio/64295219ed27f6ce/ Did it in 10 minutes. Is Progressive Trance just a hip hop beat with a Gated saw running through the middle or what? Thats what all I heard on your examples. I don't think it would be awful for a game soundtrack to do it, but it might have to be a really funky weird game like Vib Ribbon before an unusual soundtrack like that might work.
  7. This way of explaining it is far more reasonable. I even agree to a point, I'm just saying if a movie has to be judged, it should be judged with other things in mind than just academic terms. This is largely my problem with critics altogether. They are critics. They used to be people who enjoyed the medium of entertainment profusely until they decided to take jobs talking about them. Now they watch all the elements a movie comprises, but not the movie themselves. They go IN looking for cogs and wheels instead of just looking at the damn clock. I could go on and on, but mostly I want to get back to my point that sometimes movies just WORK as they are and to let something vague like "storytelling" get in the way is the exact opposite of why someone should be watching movies at all.
  8. "Galbadia Hotel" has a huge number of soundtracks, popular and rare stuff, but they're always down and some of their links don't work. Just Google Galbadia Hotel. "Blue Laguna" doesn't have as much stuff, but they have a great collection of more modern RPG music and I've never had any problem with them. [Link removed by moderator - no links to illegal content] More and more, people are using Youtube to upload and collect BGM into playlists. This is a great alternative to collecting MP3s which takes up memory and may be virused. And of course, some fan sites post whole collections of music like Secret of Mana and Mega Man. I don't know of any specifics off the top of my head, mostly because they usually get shut down quickly, but they do exist.
  9. $20 to the person who gets you a free MP3? Sounds like a scam or at least mind-bendingly odd. Its a lot easier to just ASK Star Salzman if he's got it. Like go to his website at http://www.starblast.org/music.php?sort=remix or maybe his Myspace page. No one on Earth should ever have to pay $20 for a song.
  10. The songs are really good, but the mixing is AWFUL. Its way too bright and "thrashy" and the sounds just flood into each. Go back and fix the mixing so the instruments aren't pouring into each other and the soundscape is much cleaner and you will have a fan favorite of an 8-bit EP. The music is borderline legendary, but the mixing needs serious work. 6.7/10 With better mixing it might be 8.2/10
  11. Oh, YOU'RE Maru.....

No wonder I've never seen you.

  12. Oh yeah, 95 is a damn good age to live too. I'm just applying it generally. It is sad to see them go, but I wish we had more of an "out with the old, in with the new" philosophy to it.
  13. That's because we only judge a music icon by how long they've been around. I don't mean that rudely, thats just why. They're gettin' older, and many do not take care of themselves the way their sallaries should. None of above comment is meant to apply to Les Paul, btw, I'm just directing it to your sentence.
  14. I have never agreed with a comment less. Does it not seem logical that that might the point with Miyazaki, then? Why does a film have to be one thing or another besides what it is? You're not talking about a sloppy amateur film made by a film student, you're talking about a professionally made film by a world renowned creator. What other credentials does he need to have before you can just sit and enjoy a movie like it was intended instead of playing Toronto Film Festival Chief Judge? Some movies you just sit and WATCH. Some do not require certain linearity to flow from beginning to end. With Miyazaki, you just sit and watch and thats how you enjoy. Thats what made Spirited Away incredible.
  15. Yeah. No matter what happens, the TC should be considered legendary for this charity.
  16. Does anyone else spot the irony of a bunch of people rushing, each one more desperate than the last, to go so far as to offer trade and MONEY to get something for FREE? Well, I'm not sure if its irony, but its still lawl.
  17. Dude, there's like a million people in front of you...
  18. His website also posts that he has 756 games listed as releases - and while this is technically true, its basically the same games listed over and over in all the many platforms and translations - it technically counts but c'mon we weren't born yesterday. If only we could do to this guy what we did to Ebaum's World......
  19. I have NI B4 and frankly it sucks quite a bit. None of the organs sound very good and its pretty buggy. Now, on topic, I want to find an organ that gives me that awesome, prog cutting lead. I kind have one, but its better for layering than leads. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDO7r2kYlnM - starting at 1:08 What kind of settings do I need or what should I look for?
  20. It was actually a Taiko roll and I agree, it is a little awkward because you have to edit that yourself and its ridiculously difficult, but I think it added something that was missing from the mix. I appreciate the comment all the same.
  21. Well, yeah, the instrument choice and the mixing almost ruins the project. Its ok to use instruments we all have, but they need to be mixed and blend in right. The songs themselves aren't too bad, but they're fuzzy and really rough. The splash cymbal for example is awful. The night versions of the songs are the best. Bad Enough (night version) is the best song on the album. The songs themselves are well composed, but the mixing and instrumentation needs serious work. I will give you points for a very clever and well-executed Outro. I LOLed. Neighbors heard me. 6.2/10
