  1. Without going into specifics (and thus spoilers), I've always felt like immediately after this scene came a turning point for the "good guy" characters in general, and that for the most part things started going their way from this point forward.

    For a while, anyway.

Seriously though, you will love the parts of Storm they haven't shown yet (admittedly working off of secondhand info as I haven't actually seen the episodes of this season yet, but I feel confident in my accuracy).

Episode 9 as predicted was the wedding. Season 4 is going to have the craziest finale EVER. I mean i saw west wing 'who was hit' and the kidnapping. I'm telling you here and now that season 4's finale will TOP those two.

The books however bring a lot of the other interactions into a perspective the TV show isn't able to get into. And allows a lot more theory crafting. Like certain guesses on certain sons ;)

  2. Oh.. god... thank you.

My brother told me the same thing, so I'll hold out. It just seemed like a bad pattern forming. From the end of book 1 to this event in 3.. it started to seem like GRRM had poor intentions for this series all along.

He's stated the ending will be Bittersweet. This one wont be what happened with potter.

I know what's going to happen. It is DEFINTELY worth holding on to. Its one hell of a way to wrap up book 3.

  3. Last year they saw a slight viewership drop on Memorial Day, so they skipped it this year.

I'd like to know how many people will stop watching because of this past episode. I know Martin likes to keep things realistic as far as unpredictability goes, but … I think some people seek out fiction for something a little more than reality. I'll still be watching, of course. Love this show.

    There's also another reason

That episode was due to air had they aired it then. While G.R.R.M. was at a CONVENTION. He got ASSAULTED for that scene in the book after it hit shelves. Waiting that extra week allowed him to get into his security arrangements. Because he would have been MOBBED by show only watchers at that convention. Even the US Secret Service might not have been able to handle THOSE security arrangements.

To those who have watched the show only: WATCH SEASON 4! Do not stop here. Episode 9 was a hell of a shock and most of you who had your horses on certain people were crushed. But such things have consequences. And the consequences of this night will shake the foundations of Westros itself. If you cant wait after tonight Its the final 250 or so pages of book 3. Trust me. It will be WORTH the wait.

  4. Would it kill you to source like...I don't know, any of this? Telling people to go look up information themselves doesn't prove anything to anyone.

    Bill Gates on Common Core.

    http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/03/27/indoctrination-and-data-mining-in-common-core-heres-why-americas-schools-may-be-in-more-trouble-than-you-think/

The entire data mining situation that has been developed for common core.

    http://www.homelandsecuritynewswire.com/nsa-build-2-billion-data-center-utah

Sorry that was NSA not DHS for that center in Utah.

And as for the hacking into cameras?

No i wont source that. The articles are technical and describe a process from which someone can extrapolate the technique to do that themselves. If someone wants it, they can find the information themselves.

  5. Holy sensationalist fearmongering, Batman!

Look out a window. Everything i said concerning the Scandals is true. Bill Gates is one of the Driving forces behind Common Core its data-mining capabilities are VERY well documented at this point.

Fearmongering? I didn't even consider recruiting the recent security issues into my argument.

It is very easy at the moment for a hacker to look through a webcam online at your computer and see into the owner's house. Federal government can do it. It can be done through cell phones. It is very startling just how EASY it is to do.

I have used nothing but FACTS in my arguments. That isn't fearmongering, SOPA woke me up politically. And i've been on this stuff ever since.

The level of loss of privacy and your rights is not something to be ignored and it is not something to be allowed. If this console launches as currently advertised it is a purchase only the truly oblivious would ever make.

I bring up these concerns so that other users are aware of just what they may be getting if they actually purchase one of these. And if you're only going to fire back with 'fearmongering' without attempting to refute any of my FACTS? Go somewhere else. That kind of BS isn't what this thread needs.

    On one other issue:

The Sega CD was a good concept but it got trumped and made irrelevant. The XboxOne needs to have the same happen to it.

  6. Warning: I'm going political, i'm going to rant somewhat but it needs to be said and i'm saying it. And normally i'm not Anti-Microsoft. But this needs to be put out there.

This console needs to fail. It needs to not sell a single unit. The only reason to buy this console should be for target practice in shotguns.

In this age where rights are being given up without people even understanding what they are or what they mean this poison pill is the ultimate weapon for those who wish to spy on other people. The Security of the Xbox has NEVER been as solid as it should be and network security is NEVER as good as it needs to be.

Siting the following from an article from Time

The new console will come with Microsoft’s refined Kinect sensor, a detachable hammerhead-like camera with microphone that you’ll probably position somewhere high up in your entertainment center, where its upgraded 1080p widescreen eye can easily sweep your play-space. Unlike the Xbox 360, which functions whether the Kinect camera is attached to the console or not, Xbox One won’t work without Kinect plugged in. At least part of the reason for this is that Microsoft wants its new system to be instantly responsive and interactively seamless — so tuned to your physiology that the company is saying it can even measure your heartbeat simply by “looking” at you (courtesy its new infrared camera). But that sort of granularity also raises obvious and completely reasonable privacy concerns.

There are good and bad things about what is being offered. But the bad in this case in my opinion far outweigh the good. The level of electronic data-mining and down right illegal spying going on today is enough to start a world electronic war if hackers were of a mind to. Don't believe me? Check out that place in Utah DHS just opened up. This forum, and all others are being monitored for EVERYTHING.

Commercial concerns aside it is relatively easy for those even with solid security to be hacked to the point where a person can look through a spycam. But instead of a grainy image that would only gross out the person. They would instead have a very clear image able to give the user astonishing detail. Pull out your credit card? He can probably read the numbers, or steal the signature. Leave a bill on the table? There goes that. Oh and if you're a woman in something casual or waiting on your significant other to arrive in something of a provocative nature? Dont expect to be leaving for the world to think about

That is just the black-hats. Lets look at the bigger danger. Those who hold the information, and those who want it.

Quietly and behind the scenes Microsoft has been pushing something called 'Common Core' If you haven't been following the political debate you probably don't know much about this. But on its face its a set of standards for national education. In theory this would be a good thing. In practice however it is one of the worst things imaginable. It is already causing teachers to resign in protest, and it is a system that will ruin a child's imagination. Why? Profit.

Chief among the problems with Common Core is a data gathering apparatus that makes the Xboxone look like a fart in the wind. If you think i'm joking look at the recent incident in Florida that involved the involuntary and in my opinion illegal iris scanning of elementary school students. That isn't even directly associated with Common Core. But trust me that would not even be considered an appetizer.

One parent, Tammy Slaten, explained that when she started informing herself about the curriculum she sent an email to other parents in her child’s class.

To her shock, she was “called to the principal’s office” where she was told to stop, and to not ask the teachers what they think. More than that, the principal allegedly told her that they are state employees and whether Common Core is “good or bad,” it is their priority.

This was taken from an article on theblaze.com

Not sure where people here fall on the political spectrum but i'm trying to make a larger point. There is good and bad with what the Xbox One wants to achieve. In THEORY it works to enhance the entertainment experience.

However in Practice it is potentially something else entirely. The ultimate device for Big Brother. And one step closer to a police state.

Then there is the current state of affairs in Government. To say it is out of control would be an understatement. Actions taken since 2001 (i'm beating both parties over this) Have only degenerated worse and worse to allow what we have right now. Reporters being threatened. Free speech suppressed. The IRS used as a political WEAPON by a sitting president. Google being forced to give up hundreds if not thousands of private emails. (not that they didn't scan them themselves already to boot.)

We live in a time and age where each of us is more responsible than ever for their own security. Both physically and electronically. The Xbox One is one thing that should never be taken off the shelf. The games could be cool, the features could be great. But the price you pay for them far outstrips any entertainment value you might ever have. Even if it went for one penny.

The entire Time article is worth reading if anyone is seriously considering buying this.

My personal opinion anyone who is should look instead to using that cash to upgrade your PC and get PC games. The Xbox One is a step in the WRONG direction. And it needs to go the way of the SegaCD

    Just because... xD

  8. I know they hit up MAGFest, and PAX East. They might hit up Otakon but I'm not sure. And obviously, their presence at any of these conventions is subject to change, but you'll usually hear a lot of news about it on the site if they are confirmed for going. In December, Larry gets sick sometimes from eating too many McRibs and does not attend, like MAGFest 11.

As for the shirts, they are adequately cool. I WOULD get caught wearing one.

I still think you guys need to just flat CRASH a comic-con.

  9. Uhhh, Dante's Inferno was pretty much the shittiest God of War clone it could be. It was God of War except without any of the fun parts, and a huge floppy dick swinging around during the final battle. Had the dick repeatedly slapped you in the face, it would have been even better, because that is about the quality and maturity the game was - a big, fully rendered and textured blue dick smacking you in the face.

To say nothing of the astoundingly awful marketing for Dante's Inferno. I tried to find numbers on the sales of the game and on marketing costs, and the most I can find is an extreme drop in aggressive marketing by EA after the whole circus of Dante's Inferno, which thankfully suggests the whole thing backfired.

EA's track record right now could generously be described as "putrid." The Sim City launch and their subsequent response, The Old Republic and its rather...bumbled launch, and a shift to free to play so awkward and forced it blew out the clutch, a general attitude of contempt and disdain towards people who voice complaints - did you see their response to that whole worst company fiasco? They blamed homophobia for it.

As far as Star Wars goes, EA is probably the one company that could make a game that's more of a waste of money and time than Force Unleashed. I can't wait for a game that's nothing but fucking Hoth land battles with paid DLC and map packs.

I was going to say something but you about nailed it.

This is....Horrible. I...was afraid things were bad i had no idea they were this bad. I hope Stan Lee has enough control left over Marvel to prevent a similar disaster.

  12. They made a huge amount of changes that were pretty much unnecessary from any standpoint. It was made with the intention of making it a massive money grab and most people believe brought on by PWE rather than STO devs

The end result was a couple of nice things but if you looked under the crap the game was made significantly more of a grind out than it was before season 7 kicked off. It really fucked with the flow of dilithium and it happened over the MASSIVE outcry of the player testers and the playerbase itself. Player requests to modify them to something still keeping with the intended outcome but not so punitive to players were flat out ignored. The changes came in a stealth fashion after reasonable alternatives were explored on the Test Server with massive input from the player base.

Flat out we were lied to. We didn't like it and the end result made the game for all but the sheeple and the wannabe korean grinders unplayable. My fleet kicked me out over my protests. I left with pleasure. Other fleets vanished completely.

  13. Oh shit. I totally forgot that was coming down the pipeline. Maaan, Disney better figure out a way to see to it that still gets released, or I will be really upset.

And yeah, the X-Wing/Tie Fighter games were way ahead of their time. I kept hoping for a "reboot" of them, or a remake.

    Blastr saw that too

1313 aint dead yet. But this didn't do it any favors.

“It is worth noting that we are looking for proven external partners who can help us provide video games to our fans. We still believe in the video game industry, we still will provide Star Wars games, we’re just looking at different models rather than internal production… They’re evaluating everything. There’s always a possibility that it [star Wars 1313] can still come out via licensing.”

Disney to Game Informer on this topic

    http://www.blastr.com/2013-4-3/oh-no-disney-pulls-plug-blade-runner-ish-star-wars-1313-game

With Defiance finished up. Trion's gonna move on End Of Nations. They'll be looking for a new project given their track record this is the PERFECT project for them to pick up. If they can get around the fact that Disney owns ABC and They're currently married to NBC.

  14. The website itself hasnt updated but

HELL YEAH! I've loved the first i was hoping for DLC for more characters but hey this will work

God thats a lineup. Glados as the Dealer, Brock, Ash, Sam AND Claptrap! And i thought the jokes were good the last go around!

  15. That'd actually be pretty cool if it is. I loved the first one. I would have loved to see 99 cent DLC with other characters and chats and stuff.

Now the other side of the coin:

    http://www.fpsguru.com/article/3275/Valve-is-Up-to-Something-at-GDC.html

    http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=531603

I personally have to be at least curious on if the two events are not related.

IF they're not thats one thing. Poker Night 2 would be very cool

But i cant help but draw the relation on the timeframe of the tweets.

  16. Hate on me if you wish but i do not believe the people who created this game would ever have considered that type of music for any of those soundtracks. This was one of the golden games of the SNES and a first for Mario EVER. This set the stage for Mario 64 and beyond. If you do not believe you're going to be judged on as high of standards as VOTL and the other two upcoming FF albums i'm sorry you're mistaken. I want this album to be as great as the game i loved so much.

Taking on this as an OCR album means you've got significant standards to uphold. I am no fan of dubstep as my post made clear and i personally don't feel like it belongs in this album. Feel free to prove me wrong by doing something flat out Awesome.
