  1. I really love Hunters Season too... very classic Kamelot that track :D Damn... I love the whole album! :D

House on a hill is growing immensely on me as well, I love the duo between Khan and Simone Simons. Oh and The Zodiac too, I must say Kamelot's diversity is extremely wide these days.

And by the way: 3:52 in Hunter's Season - exquisite!

Glad to hear good things about this, I loved Black Halo and many songs off Ghost Opera. They are fantastic live, as well - it's a shame they had to cancel their tour for the album. I will be checking this album out soon.

I remember I saw some older footage of the band live and I was disappointed, then I checked out One Cold Winter's Night and I was left with this impression: Holy crap, one of the best performances I've seen in recent time.

  2. Me too! Absolutely adore the whole album. If Tomorrow Came is an absolute classic... it actually sounds a lot like Roys' first band, Conception, I think. The similarities between the two bands grow a little more each album... I love the direction that they are heading in.

Oh man, when you mention Conception, the first song that comes into my mind is: 'Under A Mourning Star' which is pure gold.

If Tomorrow Came is one of my faves from the album too, together with Necropolis and Poetry o.t.p pt.I and pt.II.

And Bahamut, I totally forgot about the Gamma Ray release! I haven't checked it out yet, but I shall now. And I forgot to mention Helloween's upcoming album too. Can't wait for that one.

  3. Sometimes you don't decide your own pace, a mysterious force behind you forces you to proceed against your will and often pushes you into a pit so you die.

That after years of gaming you may be in need of anger management treatment.

And lastly: that dirty words are spelled like this: @%^&$%(*&^!!!!

  4. It's the first hack and slash I played over three times since my memory doesn't fail. :)

Needless to say I like it. It's been a long time a non-blockbuster impresses me heavily.

Does the difficulty increase a lot from play-through 2 to 3? I haven't checked it out, if it's a big gap I guess the game will be beyond my skills. Round 2 was hell enough.

  5. I think Danny Carey of Tool would be a good fit for Dream Theater.

I'd actually prefer to see a new talent rise up to the challenge. I know about a crazy drummer from Oslo Norway who hasn't come very far yet in his musical career, but he plays Dream tracks like crazy. And he pulls it off very smoothly. Imagine how many great drummers that are out there that are yet to surface.

Anyways, I think Phil Rudd from AC DC would be a good choice. His drum licks are... perfectly pulled off. lol

Here's me hoping Dream Theater wont go from:

    to

  6. He's gonna go off like Mistwalker did and make a band called Slumbering Cinema. (Dream Theater)

Like how Mistwalker made The Last Story (Final Fantasy)

Hey! Stop, don't say things like that or I'll get A Nightmare to Remember.

  7. I forgot to mention that I finished the game 2 times and I thought it was a cool experience. The best part of the playthrough was to connect to other players and kick the bosses during times when I sucked too hard at the game to manage the battles by myself. Ohwell lol

  8. Alright guys, it's time for another round of Kamelot. Which in my opinion is one of the best metal acts at the time. I absolutely love all their work since Roy Kahn joined as vocalist in 98.

And being Norwegian, I have a sense of pride knowing that he too is from the Kingdom of dark-green trees and I wish the band continued success.

So now the new album should be released across the globe and hell yes, it sounds promising.

  9. i'll be honest when i say that the reason i listed to dream theater is for portnoy and petrucci. with portnoy gone...that's a big deal, for me.

Well, Dream is Portnoy's baby, so don't be surprised when he's back in the band 2-3 years later after his hiatus.

At least that's what I'm hoping. OR he will start a new project that will bring something fresh to the prog scene.

  10. FUCK I LOVE CAVIA SO MUCH!

    That is all.

Hell yes! Too bad they had to go :( I bet they had some awesome plans under their sleeves that will never see the light of day. Well, we can always hope the main man behind the project, whoever that is, will resurface in the future in another company.

    That is all.

  11. A lot of sites didn't give Nier a chance, some downright set out to bash it from the start. There's a particularly embarrassing "review" from one site where the guy is trying to catch a fish for like 4 hours but was completely oblivious to the quest, which by the way had a quest marker, which told him to go to a completely different spot to catch his fish. So he spent 4 hours trying to cash a fish at the wrong spot, probably expert level fish with no bait, because he ignored an aspect of games that's been around for years now... :nicework:

But seriously, don't take reviewers' word for it. They're just people who get free copies of games and really don't put that much care into the process. Much like music journalists who get a CD to review and listen to it maybe 2 or 3 songs through before making up their mind about it. :-) *self burn*

Yeah, the fishing and quests got a lot of bashing from reviewers, I may be wrong, but I think JRPG's are getting bashed just for being a JRPG these days. I think NIER is a lot more mature in its representation and is based on real and pure emotions. Quests are 100% optional, so don't pay much attention to how they hack it in reviews.

I think the RPGfan reviews and the gamecritics review are the best ones.

Although the actual combat gameplay isn't the best around, it's well rounded and the magic is very unique.

I just finished my second playthrough last night, and I am very pleased. I'm pretty sure I'll be back for another go in the future.

And oh boy the music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uj_9D31ug0

  12. Just checked out the OST. Excellent.

That discovery alone is a testament to the productivity and depth of this thread for me :P

Indeed! Self exploration is key. The music is astounding, and a lot of the tracks compliment the events in the story as detailed and beautifully . Listen to the Kaine / Salvation track, it's one of the most emotional pieces I've heard in years! The singer, the foreign words and notes are all spectacular.

  13. The opening post of this thread is the kind of low-content garbage that destroys and desire I might have to post on this forum, despite being a frequent lurker. Are there no longer any standards here?

Sometimes fewer words means more than many. You should play Nier lol.
