  1. YESSSSSSSSSSSS....more....MOre.....MORE!!!! As a fan of dubstep just before it got really big I am impressed with this amazing work, and I agree that he made the drops as part of the actual rythem to the song which was more impressive, I do like dubstep but it doesn't mean I like all dubstep, just like with any song it has to be done right and this was not done right...it was done FANTASTIC!!!! Keep up the good work! Sorry I can't add anything that add to any technically or musically critique but I have just been one of those "lurkers" on this website for a long time and appreciate all the work everyone contributes to this site and had my own dream of making a remix worthy of this community and submitting it but I am still an amateur if you can even call me that!
  2. They need to bring back Shenmue, re-do the dialouge, or just keep the japanese voices and use Enlgish subtitles and then come out with Shenmue 3 and FINISH THE DAMN STORY!!! A guy can hope....even forever Also LuketheXjesse....I'm in love with your dancing girl sig...
  3. Ahh Saturn. I've had mine since...when was it now... I think since 1996 or 1997 when it first came out and it still runs great! Though my library is limited and funny enough I was actually looking at craigslist yesterday and i beleive I saw someone selling Dragon Force for about $30 though with out the box. Some games I like are Shining Wisdom (Action RPG) it's fun little game very Zelda-esque. If you are a fan of Dragon Ball Z (or a hardcore fan like I was back in the day) you may find some fun in Dragon Ball Z Legends, though its not really that great of a game, but fun nonetheless. I remember I went to study abroad in Tokyo and picked up Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon Zwei at the used game shop
  4. These are some of my favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXziKD-Yxos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c92Pbye88i0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGBPWVZIwxc Oh can't forget this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0z7OCaiByw what would the judges rate on that last one?
  5. I am also interested in the position though I see many people have responded, but I would also like to be considered in any other positions you are offering, specifically in marketing/advertising. I can send you a resume if you would like
  6. I know rap uses a lot of samples, but I am surprised that this particular song isn't getting some attention around these forums. How many times do we hear video game music in mainstream media? In fact let's just turn this into a thread where people post up VG themes in mainstream music. Here is another one: sound quality isn't great but I think many people will recognize the sampled beat in this one.
  7. Alright so I didn't see a topic about this and I know there have been discussions about the issue of sampling but this is kinda ridiculous http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0z7OCaiByw The blatant sample is directly from the SNES soundtrack of Chrono Trigger Schala's theme. It sounds like the producer just straight ripped it from the soundtrack. I don't think I woulda minded as much if he sampled the melody but I guess that would be asking too much. I know we've heard of artists ripping off videogame music and other sources before, but this is the first I know where a more or less "famous" artist used a track from a videogame that probably has one of the most if not THE most well-known soundtracks in the VG community. Thoughts? Do you guys care? I don't know if Mitsuda is collecting royalties on this one. I believe that there are some creative uses of samples for beats but this one just seems more of a straight cut and drum loop arrangement than anything else. ...Oh in just in case you need the source material
  8. I would recommend this Not that I'm some expert in Electro House, also there were some other Vectorman remixes done a long time ago that made it on a label from Sega Tunes Vectorman Title theme Stage 1 theme
  9. Apparently Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Michael Jackson did collab on the soundtrack. I remember there were debates on these forums before so I don;t know if this was ever confirmed but it seems like it is now. MJ wanted to take his name off the project because the sound quality was "so poor". http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/playback/playback-94/1380785 Any thoughts on this?
  10. Yea I bought mine today before my shift started (I work at Dell). I just saw it was sold out which I expected to happen. The same thing happened when we had those crazy deals on the 20" monitors for $90 and 23" for $149. When they have those accessory deals they only have a limited supply so you gotta grab them quick! Can't wait to get my PSP!
  11. Hey just to let you guys know dell.com will be selling a PSP 2000 for $109 after $60 instant savings, I think its free shipping too! It's starts on June 24 - 25th. I'm gonna pick this up for myself. I hear there isn't a big diff between the 2000 and 3000 versions in fact I've heard that the 2000 version preferred. I think its a good buy so I'll pick it up and maybe get a 4GB stick too. There's a lotta PSP games I've been wanting to play, all the MGS games,God of war COO, FF dissidia, and some others that I can't think of right now.
  12. Like a lot of people I liked Assassins' Creed initially then got a little bored and frustrated with some of the repetitiveness so I stopped playing after a while. Recently I started playing again and finally beat it and yes was disappointed with the end and all, but I did like the story and of course me being a little biased I loved the setting (hey how many games take place in a middle east setting that's not a war FPS or have a muslim as the main charater?) I'm actually interested in the history of the crusade period now. I appreciated the game for what it is, a good stealth action game. I just wish that collecting the flags would have unlocked something...maybe that was something they left out so they can rush the game out. I did go back and play some of the assassinations because I royally fucked up on a lot of them and actually wanted to assassinate them not fight 20 gaurds and then "assassinate" the target. I can't wait for the sequel and I hope they have some hidden secrets in the game like extra weapons or extra missions.
  13. Well I've had a few funny hahas when playing some games but here is one that comes to mind when I played Syphon Filter 2 on PS1. Go to about 3:38 on the video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnlyCgokP0U At first I was like WTF?!? I thought I was the good guy... then I just started cracking up lolz. I guess it is pretty dark humor...but man was it unexpected to hear him say that.
  14. Bump So I found the vid again! Someone else was kind enough to post it. Its a remix of the megaman 8 stage select theme
  15. Okay I apologize about the remixer suicide notion... I wasn't serious and didn't mean to offend anyone. Sorry if I did. Secondly since I wasn't able to find much info on google and the fact this is a site that people come to find videogame remixes, I thought I could find someone who knew a bit more information on these mixes. Also the account on youtube that was closed down was not the remixer, but he was giving credit to 48 mx for making it. I'm still trying to find info any way i can.
  16. ........ no... I was going to use the remixes at his open casket funeral while reading a eulogy commemorating Mr. MX... DUH
  17. I found a few remixes of Megaman stage select themes on youtube. Apparently it was made by a fellow named 48 mx whom which I can't find any info on. Anyway he made a remix of the megaman 3 and 8 stage select themes and now the account on youtube has been closed down. Both stage select remixes were slow electronic styles. Sorry I don't have more info but I was wondering if anyone knows where to get these remixes or if they've heard of them. IMO they are OCR worthy, hell maybe they were once wips here and were rejected and so the remixer feeling dejected committed suicide because of the harsh criticism of the judges hence the account closing down (I mean absolutely no disrespect to the judges!) I DUNNO but I just wanna listen to these damn remixes again!!! Any help?
  18. I thought that trailer was amazing for it being a fanmade movie! Okay yea I thought Roll was a dude at first...but ya know all of you poking fun at Roll...well that's what she is: an annoying stupid maidbot! Just one question: Where's Rush???? I wanna see a a flying dog in a robot costume NOW!
  19. I have that song Chemically Inspired. I don;t know if its the final version but it has a lot more toned-down drums than the version Slygen gave a link to. IF you want the version I have I could email it or what the hell use my college webspace before they delete it. I believe I downloaded this from the wip forums and I think Musically Inspired has this on his site which I don't remember the link to (it was a long time ago). I really liked this mix as well. Does anyone remember why it was specifically rejected? Anyway here is the link: http://www.personal.psu.edu/buz106/chemical_wip.mp3
  20. Damn. That sounds like a total backfire of everything Sony was trying to do by overhyping and under supplying the system. It got so bad that people who want one don't even try to ask for them, because they automatically assume if any have come in, they've sold out already. Heh, well I don't think it's that bad. Aside from just a few systems that get overlooked that way, Sony shouldn't be having a problem selling whatever small amount of consoles they can make. And even for the ones that get overlooked that way, they usually wouldn't go more than a few days without being noticed and bought, I'd imagine. Funny you say that becasue it could be true haha. My coousin works at Best Buy and he told me that some random shipment of 13 60GB PS3s came into the store and he had to take care of putting them on the floor since he works in Media and as soon as he came out of the backroom people saw what he was carrying and they sold out before he even got to place them. Haha its crazy. Personally I can wait untill a price drop since there is a bunch of ps2 games I want to play (if I can ever find the time). My roomate haas a Wii actually he has 3, since the first one he bought broke within a few days, and then Nintendo sent a replacement that was broken as well, and today he finally recieved a working Wii. The only game right now for the Wii is Zelda and PS3 had Resistance. 360 will be coming out with Halo 3 soon so that will factor into the mix. I'm just gonna sit back with some old school and like Prez Bush stay away and see how the war plays out.
  21. whew after finally reading all these pages and thinking for a very awhile, my hardest bosses foe me were lets see.......well i gotta say the weapons were pretty freaky but i did beat them both twice but the way i beat ruby weapon the first time my God it must have been luck. i had caith sith limit break where if u get 3 caith sith slots(where it forms his face) it would be an instant killer and that thing died rite on the spot i was so happy cuz back then it was one of my great vg accomplishments it almost seemed like fate because when i was using the slots when the last slot landed it seemed like it was forced on there becuz i rember pressing the button and it came up a lil bit late.....really weird. Anyway continuing i'd have to say omega from ff8 was indeed a son of a bitch. i used my own lil strategy by using rinoa's invincible moon it took a couple game over for it to come up and it worked well. i didnt want to use the stategy of using the gilgamesh card into 10 holy wars i wanted keep all my card. thats how i beat him b4. Anyway i actually managed to get invincible moon when everyone had one hp! which ment the limit break came up almost everytime and invincible moon really lasts. Ok now about the othe omega weapon from ff5 what the hell is this thing man a freakin robot spider? come on they could do better than that even back then. But dammnit he was the only boss i have not beaten thro all my final fantasies (i'm still workin on ffx and i havent got thro ff1 yet) he had so many damn moves like cutting ur hp in half 4 times in a row and other things that i 4got. i jus couldnt beqat his ass. shinryu on the other hand was pretty easy especially when u got eight dragon lances and everyone with the 2 weapon ability hehe. now moving on i remember a boss from vagrent story that was a pain. i believe it was ashura(the 6-armed woman) i could barly do any damge to her and my risk went up so high it was getting harder good thing i had those potions that lower ur risk. i also loved chrono cross. even tho i cant remeber the bosses too well except for the one guy that u fight i believe he had the masamune. something with a D daryl? darian? dario? i 4got. He was crazy especially since u had to have that one girl in ur party, what was her name? She was kinda weak at least for me. Man there so many character they coulda made that game like 10 discs long so there'd be a side quest for like every character. ya kno when kid gets sick an if u don't help her some else does by getting the hydramrsh thingie or whatevr. i heard from a faq/strategy guide that it was norman or at least i think that was his name? he was the blond gaurd dude. anyway how the hell does he kno this? please help out my poor memory. oh and one last thing what was that unanswered question in chrono trigger that was answered in chrono cross.
