  1. Got the PM!! I have a few special surprises in store for my Secret Santa. I'm also going to do a bit of extra (very harmlses) investigating to make sure he/she will enjoy my bonus gift. Edit: to the person who got me, please note that anything will suffice. I'm not picky at all, and regardless of what the gift is I'll definitely find a way of utilizing it. Looking very forward to it
  2. Yeah, I noticed the finger inconsistency as well. Though I did want to point out that one hand has five and the other has four. I'm sure that's what you meant The Maverickk did the cover art above. He also did some really incredible discwork -- you'll all love it
  3. I concur with the above post. The soundtrack touches me in ways other game soundtracks haven't. When I listen to it, I don't want it to end. The tracks sound really gritty and the production is not very good (as one would expect from a GBA) but the arrangements are SO GOOD, and as far as individual song quality goes I'd say the music is right on par with DKC2, if not better. I strongly adore it, and this is coming from someone who initially hated the soundtrack because it was different (I was barely 14, gimme a break ). When I listen to Jangle Bells, I don't see Swanky's Dash or Tearaway Toboggan....I see white-washed blends of gray mixed in with smooth, metallic deliciousness. Nuts and Bolts doesn't remind me of Fire Ball Frenzy, but instead gives off dark, hazy, purplish hues with elements of a greenish gas. Waterfall is pure, crystalized ice with light blues and yellows. I can't even DESCRIBE how awesome Mill Fever looks. When I listen to GBA I go on a trip and see colors/textures of all sorts multiple times, something no other album, video game or not, has come even remotely close to for me. (Ok, there was that one time with Shpongle and LSD... hah, jk).
  4. Emunator, Flexstyle, Theophany, Bahamut, Level 99 and several others, including myself, have posted in this thread multiple times praising the album and saying it'll be worth the wait. There is enough AMAZING material here to keep you 100% musically occupied for weeks or months. It did to me, anyhow! I don't regret a single minute spent listening to this album. I think the album is nothing short of beautiful. I say that not as an OC ReMix fan, or even as a Donkey Kong Country/David Wise/Eveline Fischer fan. I say it as a fan of quality-consistent, well-produced music. I also think that regardless of how long the wait is, it'll be worth it. It'll hit you like a massive tsunami of force and you'll have a lifetime supply of incredible Donkey Kong Country 3 remixes for your aural pleasure. Dude, that's really awesome! Makes me want to work on some more signatures
  5. I hope your preceded vision comes true Brandon, considering the SNES and GBA versions of the game released in the November of their respective years. On another note, the album ALWAYS satisfies me with its quality when I go back to it after a few weeks. It's so good.
  6. Oh yeah, I forgot about that consensus... makes me a sad panda. Cliffside is not only one of my favorite tracks on the album, but it's one of my all-time favorite remixes. In any case I certainly hope it's accepted as well as (I think) it deserves to be. Another runner-up for "favorite album track" is the bonus disc Water World SNES remix 'Dive'. If you like the original source and/or laidback music, you'll love it! I'm not sure what I'm happier about: that you feel so strongly about the album, or the fact that I can testify that it's definitely one you could infinitely loop without getting tired of it
  7. During the album's progress Emunator and I have discussed extensively which select remixes we'd like to see as day-one mixposts. Epic Bananas and Cliffside Clamber are extremely likely candidates. I remember discussing Blast Beatdown, though I can't recall whether or not we decided on its status as a mixpost (it's been several months since we've gone over them).
  8. I don't blame them; it was quite the dick thing to say. But enough about that, let's refrain from further derailing the thread and instead talk about the topic of DKC3. About that... realistically, release shouldn't be too terribly long from now and the wait certainly won't deteriorate the quality of the album. In fact, I think the closer the release is to the end of the year, the better. I'm hoping it releases in late November / early December personally.
  9. No it has spoilers! I will say it looks really cool though. My first impression was "whoa--I wasn't expecting that!"
  10. I know, right? Makes me laugh every time I check the main post From what I've seen (i.e. a screenshot of the website in question), it looks like it's coming along rather nicely.
  11. (slight) bump Just wanted to point out that it's amazing how in a span of 4, maybe 5 months, one could go from not even being aware of this series' existence to completely obsessing the hell out of it in every possible way. It's definitely the series I've gotten the most out of ever, which is absurd given the short amount of time I've known about it. I'd say Rhythm Heaven Fever is more than worth the full retail $30 honestly, let alone that $5 deal that had passed the other week. It's such a brilliant, fun, creative, charming, challenging game. It's so adorable. I can't get over how thorough everything is and how well everything is put together. $5 for this game is quite possibly the best deal in video game history...it's a shame my local Best Buy didn't have any copies in stock (I would've just bought 5 or 6 copies to give them out to friends, that's how highly I feel about this game). How's everyone else enjoying the game?

  13. Yeah, and I feel the track has essentially been upgraded from "beautiful" to "absolutely heavenly beautiful". I'd honestly say this year-and-some-month delay's been worth it for Beneath the Moonlight and Distant Dreams on Stormy Seas alone, and hopefully you all will feel the same when the album releases. I certainly couldn't imagine the album without them, if that says anything about how special they are. Trust me everyone, the album's coming. Emu will probably have a bit more to say in the near future pertaining to this
  14. Track-wise, as Emunator said, we no longer have to wait on Enchanted Riverbank SNES or Stilt GBA. Those are done. Right now we're just making some very final touch-ups on Game Over GBA and the album will be 100% finished. after waiting about a year for progress on the final video preview, Emu and I came to a consensus and decided to redo the preview from scratch ourselves. So shortly after, I got all the material ready, sent it all in a neat little package to Peach and in just days it was 100% finished. Not only does it feature tracks that a lot of you are looking forward to, but I made sure it's a great representation of what to expect from the album. It's something to look forward to. So yeah, the preview's done, and we'll release it once we get that last WAV in
  15. are you lie to me emulator??? come on man do this for the fans i tired of waiting for double trouble Anyways, to raise hype, I'll just say that the final video preview (this final update tackles 23 remixes with a majority being never-before-heard!) will be absolutely worth it. It blows me away, I've watched it about 10 times and it never gets old. You'll all love it
  16. It's a joke; Doc and Marty are from the Back to the Future trilogy and travel to 2015 at the beginning of Part II. The album will most definitely be out this year.
  17. According to Doc and Marty, the album isn't out in 2015
  18. Flexstyle's got it right, and that's why I refrained from uploading and posting my own GBA rip even though there was clearly not an official release of that soundtrack. The music itself is copyrighted and apparently downloading game music is actually considered a pretty big deal by some game companies (which is why a few YouTubers have had their accounts terminated for hosting video game music). I don't agree with the law in this case, and I feel there's a huge difference between this and, say, downloading purchasable music or a video game ROM, but it's still an issue nonetheless.
  19. Well, the thing about Enchanted is that there was really never a 100% set-in-stone idea pertaining to the foundation of the track, which is probably why it didn't really end up getting anywhere after 4 or 5 iterations. It's alright though, I'm a huge fan of Flexstyle's take on the source; not only does it fit right at home in the album stylistically, but the source is readily noticeable. It's good stuff.
  20. In the meantime, I decided I'd throw together a containing all of the music from the updated 2010 audiovisual preview and both the 2010/2011 holiday previews. There isn't really anything new in terms of audio, but I'm sure there've gotta be people out there who would like to hear these previews in one go without clicking on each one separately
  21. I'm going to raise hype just a bit and say that the video preview is 100% finished and ready to go. I believe we touched about 20 remixes in the preview, 13 of them being brand new and the other 7 being alternate selections of previously-debuted material. This is definitely something to look forward to, and we're looking to release it as soon as we get our last WAV in. It's all on Theophany now
  22. I know what that's like, haha. I've played through the entirety of Donkey Kong Country 3 probably a dozen times since this project started. That's NOT including the countless times I've played it otherwise. Heck, I've even replayed Donkey Kong Land 3 twice during the production of this project. Not to mention I've spent a million hours listening to these remixes. Despite being project staff I've been pumped for this project's release for 2 years. During this album's production I must've checked the front page a dozen times a day for updates, haha. Do you have an option to enable multi-touch? It sounds like it may be a problem with the way your emulator is set up. I've found that the original Droid's keyboard works better than the touch-sensitive screen when it comes to running emulators. The only odd quirk about the keyboard is that certain key combinations work yet others don't. For example, "Z" is compatible with "K" and "L", but a combination of "K", "L" and "S" won't work. I've played through all DKCs with no problems using "A" and "Z" to move left and right while using "K" and "L" to run and jump. Just takes a little creativity to work around the issue. Of course this is only relevant if you have the original Droid, haha. Wow, an Enchanted Riverbank SNES remix actually reached completion?
  23. Anorax: I've found that SNesoid runs DKC3 absolutely beautifully on Android (I own the original Motorola Droid). I'd imagine it probably runs even better on later models. I'll just go ahead and say that it doesn't look like Drew Gourley's going to finish up the video preview, so Emunator, myself and project remixer Peach will be putting it together instead. The video preview's coming. It will be soon and it will be totally worth the wait. That I guarantee.
  24. I'd be up for anything you suggest, haha. I could easily PM you here if you've got it so where notifications are automatically sent to your email, but if not I'd have no problems with anything else. Ah, good question. Discs 1 and 2 are the SNES side of the album; Disc 3 is entirely GBA. What's really interesting about the tracklist is that each disc could be considered a separate adventure from one another. You'll see what I mean when the album comes out, haha! However, I should mention that the bonus disc includes both SNES and GBA tracks somewhat mixed up (depending on how you look at it). It starts off with SNES tracks and then goes onto GBA. Once the last GBA track is over, alternate/ambient versions of a few SNES main album tracks then come into play. So we're pretty good about separating the SNES and GBA tracks for the most part You can see the pretty-much-final tracklist on the main page in disc order, which includes the track titles and small icons (each cropped from individual to-be-released 300x200 sprite banners) for each track. Just to kind of give you an idea regarding how appropriate the tracklist is
