This shouldn't be on the second page.

Adam has contacted me. We'll have our first trumpet parts in a few days. Get your trombone skillz ready fratto!
Agh, gonna have to shave this mustache. I haven't touched a horn or a razor since the 4th!
I'm excited.

Maybe he got busy with that Blight thing he was working on? Either way, he hasn't logged here in over a month.

Cheapo r144. I wasn't about to borrow something insanely expensive. For being as cheap as it is, it sounded pretty good, so I got one of my own.
It's what I used to record the previously posted Tom Waits song. There were some room noise issues, but not too bad. Six tracks without too many problems.
-
Alrighty. Got my own ribbon so that I don't have to borrow!
Now all I need is a lead trumpet part to play along with.
-
As soon as that lead trumpet part comes in, I'll be right on it.
-
Any news on how the lead parts are coming?
-
I guess Haunted House needs a name if you think we're submitting these bad boys.
Does the whole flatulence theme work for this track as well?
-
Oh wow, how did I miss this?! Do you guys have an email list or something? I would love to do a big band arrangement.doooooo iiiiiiiiitttt!!!!!
Yeah. Do it.

I've got some better recording ability. Bought a mobile pre and borrowed a ribbon from a buddy. Got six tracks going without too much background noise.
Recorded a bone version of Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis for Sign Guy Records. I played five trombone parts and sang. Some of the really screaming lead parts needed some autotune, but I think it sounds much better than the previous noisy recordings. Check it out.

Yep, it's there when I log out. When I log in, it all goes away. Weird.
EDIT: I wonder if it's because the invite was sent to my Yahoo account. Try adding bfratto at gmail to the list.

I couldn't find the "reply" button on the Google group if my life depended on it.
-
EDIT: rofl, reading the comments on youtube and I don't get why people were bitching about the scatting. That stuff was great.
The comments are probably because it's kinda bad and extremely out of tune on every sustained note. Not to piss in your cereal or anything.
Looking forward to playing some big band!

Fratto, are you playing bass trombone as well?
Absolutely.

Just to let everyone know, the first arrangement is under way
Also, if there are any arrangers out there, please do send your work in!
Awesome. What chart are you arranging?
With the possibility of playing all four bone parts, I'd love to get practicing. That feels weird to say.

Landed a real teaching gig. Doesn't pay a whole lot, so money's still tight, but it's still an increase. So, in August-September I may have a little more cash for some better recording stuff. Hopefully we can still do this.

Bump for trumpets?
-
I don't get it?
-
The more I listen to that, the more I think I'll try to record something else at some point.
Either way, I can play some bone.
-
This is the only recording I have right now. This is the trombone soli portion of a jazz chart I wrote. All four bone parts are me. The sound is kinda dirty and I missed a note somewhere in there, but it's all there.
-
Brad and I tried this a while back. Xenon got us a chart and we got a handful of people on board. We ran into problems recruiting trumpets. We got a handful, but no one with lead chops. Hopefully it works out better this time.
I'm down for Bass Bone (possibly other bone parts as well tuba) and I'm more than comfortable arranging for this setup.

My computer went all to hell in August. Finally got something that can run music programs again. I'll see what's backed up from my track and see what I need to do from there.
