  1. Okay, so I was challenged to compose a song which somehow incorporates this picture: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d141/CleanPlace/Mangys%20Stash/PAFQ%20II%202008/Scene8.jpg This song is what I came up with. The one thing I'd like to mention is that while composing I attempted to not simply create a song, but to create a story in that song. I made this using Finale Allegro. http://media.putfile.com/Draconic-Requiem (also, I'm not particularly knowledgeable regarding composing for an instrument, so I have no idea how "playable" this is by a real orchestra, I simply composed it by ear.) Thoughts? Feedback?
  2. Well, to be honest, I went online and asked a finale staff person through their help system. He said Finale didn't have it. He did say that there was a way to add instruments to Finale from outside sources, but I have no idea how to do that or where to get the sound. Do you? By the way, thanks for responding
  3. Hey, so I'm using Finale, and I'm wondering if there's anyway I can have that rolling cymbal effect. Not a clash, but that gentle rolling sound of it growing and then shrinking back down. Almost like a sudden breeze. Is there anyway to achieve this sound using Finale?
  4. I like it! It ends rather abruptly, but I think you meant for that so that you could loop it. I haven't personally played Castelvania before, my friends have and loved it, but this definately is how I pictured Castlevania music, good job!
  5. Thanks! Well, I took a music theory course in middle school (Alfred's Music Essentials, all three volumes), but other than that all I have is my own observations from looking at music, and experimenting with Finale Notepad (and recently Printmusic). It sounds like its from a movie track? Awesome! Any specific feedback for improvement?
  6. Well, I really haven't attempted to try remixes yet, but I'd really like some musical feedback, so I thought I'd post some original works. This is my first ever song I composed, and it was with a demo of NoteWorthy Composer. http://media.putfile.com/Ethereal-Musing Then I started looking into various scorewriters, and decided I liked Finale Notepad, free, pretty good quality for free, and easy interface. This next song was done with Finale Notepad. http://media.putfile.com/Forgotten-Rain Just one more song for now, I upgraded to Finale Printmusic, which is where I'm currently at, and so this song's recording is higher quality than the previous two. http://media.putfile.com/Happy-Rain Specifically what do y'all think of 40-50 and a few subsequent measures? I didn't want to be too loud, but I may not have provided enough contrast there, what do you think? Thank you to anyone who gives feedback, it is greatly appreciated, and the only way I'll ever grow as a musician. If any of y'all are interested, I do have some other stuff I've composed I could share as well.
  7. Hey y'all! I'm lekkin, and just thought I'd introduce myself here. My brother led me to this site, but I don't think he's on the forum. Anyways, I absolutely love the site, great music. I prefer orchestral and piano stuff, not really one for techno or rock stuff. I love Christ, and he is the sole purpose of my existence. As for what I do, I'm on the internet a lot (mostly on a forum for teen writers, I like to write ), I also like to compose, I use Finale Printmusic (really don't have the money for anything better...). I play tons of video games, my favorite are RPGs and strategy games. I'm a Sophomore in High School, I love school minus the homework, and maybe not chemistry so much... too much memorization, I love concepts better. I love singing and playing piano, but the thing I'm best at is definately math. I'm a math geek. Anyways, enough about me, now to go out into the community!
