  1. i don't know if this will hold up in court or not. i find myself somewhat neutral in this. on one hand, it does sound very similar, but on the other hand, you can't copyright a chord progression.
  2. sorry, i skimmed over the post a little too quickly before posting
  3. I don't like trackers either so I just use the Quantum 64 vst. It's free, easy to create sounds and it sounds very 8 bit. You can make entire tracks with Quantum 64s while having more versatility than trackers. http://free-plugin-list.com/plugin.php?id=132
  4. I've used both cubase and live and I like live much better. The layout is more user friendly and I find it easier to organize my audio and midi tracks in live, also I like the way it implements re-wire more than the way cubase did. However, I was using an older version of cubase and I know they've made a lot of improvement since. Both are capable of pretty much the same thing but just a different layout. That is why I chose live in the end because it can obviously be used to perform live much better than cubase. All that being said, it really is a matter of preference. A good portion of my friends who are professionals swear by cubase while others swear by live so the only thing I can say is give them both a try and find out what you like and don't like about both.
