Earliest work I have saved, made in Anvil Studio:
Crescent Moon Funk (Zelda: Oracle of Ages)
My first completed remix with FL Studio:
Larva Lava (Metroid)
It's also the only thing I've ever submitted. Yes, I submitted that.
Lava Lava Is awesome dude. Did you download your own Vsts?

Programs used in bold
Ah I see how is Sonar? Similar to FL?
-
First mix was a blend of Pollyanna from Mother/EarthBound Zero and the story theme from Yoshi's Island, made with modplug tracker.
It sucked.
First mix that didn't suck was a blend of Gathering Stars in the Night Sky from Xenogears and Desperado by the the Eagles. It was made with noteworthy composer, synthfont, audacity, and a lot of help from prizm and the prophet of mephisto.
Right now I use Sonar.
EDIT:
Shut up, sixto, nobody likes you.
What program did you use?
-
First remix: Floating in the Forest Breeze
I was quite proud of it then. I should really revisit it and polish it up. With a bit of work it could be Thasauce worthy.
Hey what did you use to make this song?
-
I know, right?
As for the MP3: "Whoa Betty"
Thats not bad man i like it.. and this was in garage band?
-
I know, right?
As for the MP3: "Whoa Betty"
/facepalm .... Alright its fixed sorry bout that....
And thanks ill check it out.
-
About how long did it take you to make your first one and what equipment/sofware did you use?
-
Trackers. And not making use of the tracker-specific features. Stupid. And then garageBand. And then Logic. Guitar and Bass somewhere along the way. Mixing skills enhanced by listening to other ppl's works in progress.
Other people started with these.
Garage band, is that a Mac application?
-
Wait... You wanna listen to it? I might have an MP3 on a flash drive or something.
...and btw it's "WHERE did everyone start" not "WERE did everyone start" kthx
... Really dude lol,
:-PAnd sure I would like to hear it if you don't mind it at all.
-
dude, it's only been ten minutes since you posted this thread (well, twenty now)
this place isn't a freaking chat room, it's a forum where the time in between responses is often more than 15 minutes
be patient, jeez
Im... sorry?
-
Did you really have to bump it ten minutes in? Anyways, the first song I ever produced was with GarageBand, created entirely out of preset loops and a sample of Ram Jam's "Black Betty". Oh, and it sucked.
EDIT: Damn Gollgagh ninja
Wow Ok.. my bad for bumping ...
but anyway, do you still have that first song you made?
-
Bumb I hope im not in the wrong forum.
-
What was your first remix or melody that you created, What program and equipment did you use? How long did it take you? I'm just interested to see were every one started and how each of your styles differ, and maybe hear a little about your background and what kind of Video game music your into.
I'm just starting the melody creating/ remixing myself, and i have a HUGE collection of video game music at my disposal its just a passion of mine and remixing and creating my own is what im thriving for!
Your responses and discussion would boost my enthusiasm for this hobby even further.
Thanks in advance!

Its no problem Im 19 and no I have not done much. But im willing to learn more and help out with this project any way that I can. The programs that im familiarizing myself with at this point are Reaper and paulstretch.
-
I think ill try out that program and Reaper. Ive herd alot of good things about reaper.

Ahh the age old question. Let me break it down scientifically.
Reason comes with a large collection of samples and synths right out of the box.
FL comes with a small handful of basic (though very powerful) synths and a paltry collection of mediocre one-shot samples.
FL is nearly infinitely expandable right out of the box through its implementation of VST technology. There are thousands upon thousands of great, free VST instruments and effects.
Reason is only expandable through soundfonts and proprietary ReFills that cost lots of $$$.
FL can record audio.
Reason can not.
FL has probably the best sequencing interface in the industry.
Reason has a clunky interface that hasn't improved at all in 8 years.
FL gets regular updates that drastically improve performance and functionality.
Reason hasn't changed at all in 8 years.
FL has 64 routable FX channels and 4 dedicated send channels.
Reason has one basic mixer.
FL can act as a ReWire host or client and can be loaded as a VSTi in other hosts.
Reason can act as a ReWire client.
FL has automation clips and control links which make automating and controlling things a breeze.
Reason smells funny and has a stupid logo.
FL has Soulja Boy.
Reason has cancer.
So... the obvious answer is... Neither.
Use Cockos REAPER instead. It's probably more powerful than either of them, and it's free.
Wow this guy is awesome answered all of my question.. (that i haven't even asked yet) probably because of the redundancy of the question.. Thanks man Reaper it is then.. but can it do everything hat FL can?

What program will you guys be using for this project?
-
What are your opinions on these two programs? Which do you think is better? Ups and downs of each? Trying to choose between them.
-
Thanks for helping out a new ill be sure to check out these programs
-
From Personal Experience I would say Ps3, Have not had any problems with mine and most of the people I know; if they own the Wii they dont have many games and if they own the 360 its breaks down on them in someway, But hey that just from my personal exp.
-
I was just wondering what programs are you guys using to alter mp3s? What programs are you using to create remixes and witch do you think is the best one? Im looking into trying to remix some songs of my own and would like to know. Thanks in advance!
