  1. Arrangement really pleasant and original Piano, latin percussions... everything sounds very great ! And the atmosphere is sunny to wish
  2. Cool, peacefule, pleasant to listen ! I really love the instrument playing the melody. Great job
  3. My kingdom for more mix like this in OCR This mix has nothing to envy to best jazz bands of my knowledge! And Zelda serie (as Mario) is really well adapted for this style. I'm eager to hear you next arrangement !
  4. Great to see this album finally here! Patience well rewarded, a lot of jewels in a large variety of styles! After a first listening, it will be difficult for me to list all track which really marked me, so much there was. I'm almost impressive by arrangement on tracks whose originals wasn't really marking IMO("Fixations", "Into the Sandstorm", "Four Score and Six-Eight"). Very much interesting tracks in this album. I retain also : - "To Be Forgotten", really surprising knowing original and so nostalgic - "I Am Gonna Stop Eventually" where Brandon has a new time managed to surprise us by using a new style - "Corra!" not really surprising, but so powerful! - " Knight-wit" I didn't expected this style for this track, but I love it ! - " Vamo alla Django" Impressed by virtuosity of artists. Style original and welcome ! I tried to make an eclectic selection. But a lot of other tracks are really great ! Thanks to OCR and to the artist for this album ! I've really found in it the tribute that the OST deserved
  5. New version is here : Timpani well reduced at some parts. I could win some DBs. I think the result is better EDIT : link updated on the first post
  6. Thanks for your feedback:) I've reworked balance between timpani and orchestra bass drum. The two sounds are now easier two identify IMO. file updated Is this version better? Other points needing correction? Thanks!
  7. Hey! Here is an orchestra arrangement from two themes of Alex Kidd, Swimming and a bit of Main Theme: https://soundcloud.com/bluelighter0085/a-kingdom-under-the-seamp3 Sometime peaceful, or using march band rhythm, or heroic… It was funny to explore these different atmospheres! The main theme appearing at 2'32 is adapted in a minor harmony and a lot slower tempo can be more difficult to identify. But the melody is well present. It was a good way to get something heroic, like a big boss theme. I think this mix is finished. But any comment to improve this is welcome
  8. My favorite arrangement from BONKERS ! I'm impressed by the lot of styles the artist can explore in one mix, in a coherent all. The original theme was great and rich and lent itself to a great arrangement:)
  9. I think this time, it's the good version http://soundcloud.com/bluelighter0085/wave-of-blood-in-paradise Kick drum : filtered on mid frequencies, instead of bass Guitars: double to have one in the right and in the left. I think it's what you meant Reverb reviewed on choir, a little less than the first version. Thanks a lot for your advice! It's now clearer for me.
  10. Thanks for your detailed comment ! I've made some adjustments: www.reverbnation.com/bluelighter • More stereo with guitars and bass • Lead guitar more emphasized • Fade out at 3'38 reduced • More reverb on choirs • 1'50 : less toms (some groups of toms deleted) • Some instruments deleted -> there was yet some suppression in precedent version, but I recognize some was really useless and sometime annoying (notably strings in bass that I've well reduced). About the kick drum, I've yet used Parametric EQ in FL to filter some frequencies. I don't see what I can do more to improve this. Is it really still too loud?
  11. Hey, I've made a new version with now collaboration of Tuberz McGee for guitars and XPRTNovice for flute and clarinet. EDIT LINK: www.reverbnation.com/bluelighter I think I've now understood precedent feedbacks about drums. I've a lot reduced drum to better emphasize orchestra part and melody. I've also replaced piano of intro and outro by a synthe to homogenize with other electric sounds of the arrangement. The result is now really nearer like I wanted, notably thanks to instrumentists participation. Any points to correct on this version?
  12. I was really impatient to hear this album! A lot of jewels in the large variety of styles. I find this album better than the precedent, for its eclecticism. Here, the album includes also a piano piece and a jazz mix. I find also the the balance between electro and metal style more succeeded Only point, I would have prefered album have been more specific to ff2 (whose music is self-suffisant IMO), and didn't take sources from other games of the saga. Great work from each artists ; and great tribute to master UEMATSU
  13. Really good surprise The style was unexpected for on OCR album and I love this. I'm not familiar with the original songs, but I like this interpretation. Great performance !
  14. ok, thanks for keeping me posted. I would have remind you in a few time :)

  15. I didn't believe that an electro mix could gave me so much emotion, but I was wrong. This mix is really excellent for this. I love the contrasts between different parts, sometime delicates or squarely craving. Really good job!
  16. The January 2nd will be the fifth birthday of the project. A good date to have news
  17. At a new listening of the album, I've rediscovered this mix, really AMAZING ! The samples used for percussions, for voices, for violin are great. And I love the combination of atmosphere sounds and powerful electro rhythm. I didn't repair the track at my first album listening, but now I can listen it in loop Hoping listen more mix in this particular style !
  18. One of the best atmosphere mix I've heard on OCR! It's terrifying at will Mix really rich with strange sonorities, but really mastered. Great Job !
  19. Really good orchestration, I notably love the 2nd section. Some ressemblance with Starship Troopers OST with the heroic side of the track. Great Job
  20. Absolutely beautiful ! I didn't think an arrangement could surpass the original track but you made it I love the purity of the voice and of the violin, the finesse of electronic elements. Good job
  21. Thanks for your feedback! it's my arrangement, but I made it quickly and it's close to the source. My aim was mainly to train in recording sthg. My recorder was orientated to have separately bass and high sounds. My piano was opened, so the sound can be a little metallic and hard. I understand now it was not a good idea, but it was my best solution to reduce parasite noise. So, to have sthg clean; I think I've to make new recording, and potentialy increase bass frequencies. I haven't good installation to make a proper recording, but I know someone who has got this. So, I hope in few weeks...
  22. Hi, I've made a piano recording on this melody. www.reverbnation.com/bluelighter It's more a transcription than an arrangement. But I wonder about the production. What about the recording quality? Are some point those could be blocking for on OCR post ? Thanks for your help
  23. Hi, Further to the OCR feedback ( http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43014), I’ve understood my arrangement was not developed enough. I’ve worked on a better version: introduction and first part conserved, 2nd part rethought. For this last one, I’ve introduced the melody of Seymour Theme, that well marry with harmonies of Twillight. www.reverbnation.com/bluelighter (First position, and 2nd for the old version) What do you think of this new arrangement? This version is a demo, I’ve not recorded this in ideal conditions. There are some parasite noises those I can’t delete. To have the best quality recording, which solution would you recommend? Acoustic piano: better sound of the instrument but risk of parasite noise. Are there some mixing to apply on it to get an acceptable version? Or must we use a real studio for this kind of record? Electric piano: directly linked to recorder. Weaker quality sound IMO but not noise. For these two attempt, I had feedback of really poor sound quality. I understand but I don't know how get sthg better at this step. There would be also solution of MIDI keyboard. But, I don't think it will allow me to keep the play feeling (tempo nuance, random speed notes at the end...) Thanks for your help !
  24. A lot of good and surprising songs ! I love the eclecticism of this album
  25. Awesome! I love this mix ultra relaxing. And the sample for saxophone is bluffing Great Job !
