  1. Nah, it's just a parody for the internet for fun It's based on the recent Double Fine Kickstarter news. If you've not been following it, basically Double Fine recently broke a bunch of records on KickStarter by getting over three million dollars backed. So the toon is about Grim Fandango and that really. I'll be giving a percent cut of the ad revenue. So if the movie does well you'll get something, but probably won't be huge. Also my parody toons usually end up getting between 100k-300k views. So there's that, if that floats your boat
  2. Heyo I'm making a Grim Fandango/Double Fine flash toon. Looking for just two 15 seconds clips of either a sound-a-like or capture the same vibe as each of these: http://www.grimfandango.net/files/soundtrack/01%20-%20Casino%20Calavera.mp3 http://www.grimfandango.net/files/soundtrack/18%20-%20Neon%20Ledge.mp3 I do music my self and have been coming here for years. But I know that there are people out there who are a million times better than me at jazz and this kind of thing than me and would love to work with them instead of me! Here's two of my previous toons so you know what I'm about a bit more. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/562349 http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/544516 I'm planning on getting the toon out pretty fast while the double fine kickstarter stuff is still fresh. So would to be able to get the tracks done in a couple of days. Only need 15 seconds of each, so hopefully shouldn't be a huge job Reply or PM me asap if you're interested! If you have an example that'd be great
  3. Does anyone have any experience with how the Rock Band Keyboard stands up as a serious midi-keyboard? I've been looking for a good mini midi-keyboard to use when traveling but haven't had much luck finding decent ones under £150 ($230). From what I've seen, it looks to have all the essentials. Velocity, slightly weighted keys, octave swapping. Anything important I'm missing? Looks a little long though and apparently the pitch bend is awkward for some reason. Anyone have any experience with it to say if it's worth it? (or who knows about mini keyboards in general and wants to chip in on what's to watch out for)?
  4. I also agree so far. The battle theme sounds quite good, but I'm still only a few hours in and the battles are all too short to actually hear the theme properly. Did anyone else feel the score for the cut scenes seemed a little too dramatic too soon in some of the early parts? I just got to the part where you meet Sera and the score sounded like it should at the end of a movie or game when you already are really invested in the characters.
  5. A big fat congrats to Jimmy! He's were so many of us have been trying to get to! Mass Effect 1 Questions: Jack Wall: Most big games like this have a big orchestral sound to go with it. Where did the choice for the synthy, 80s feel for the score come from? (And was there much pressure to go orchestral?) Jack Wall: What made you decide to have fairly ambient score rather than one with more recognizable melodies and themes? Mass Effect 1&2 Questions: All: What works did you draw inspiration from when making it? All: How specific were the game makers about what they wanted for each piece?
