  1. I've played SH4 for like...30 minutes, max, because I just got it, but there's already something I don't understand.

Dude's been locked in his room now, for 5 days.

He has recurring nightmares, where his house is COVERED with rust, and blood, and faces on the walls.

His phone don't work, his TV don't work, all he's got in his fridge is chocolate milk and white wine.

So this guy's on the verge of insanity. He's gotta be. His got a 2 room apartment and nothing to do for 5 days straight.

So he's sittin' here, the door's shackled shut, he looks out the peep hole, and BAM, hot neighbor girl, sittin' outside his door, talkin' to herself.

What does he do? Just sits there. Nothin' big.

Now, I'm thinkin', I've been locked in my apartment for 5 days, and it's turning into Suvivor: The Room, and I see someone outside, why don't I...

BANG ON THE FRICKEN DOOR AND GET SOME ATTENTION.

I mean SERIOUSLY? What kind of person would just SIT THERE and watcha rescue attempt walk away?

He tried this in the game. He bangs and shouts with all his might, but they can't hear him, even though they're just outside his door.

Hmmm, he didn't try it then, I guess I either missed it, or haven't gotten to that part.

  3. also, I've got every hi-quality VG Frequency mp3 archived. If anyone wants all of the episodes from #21 - current, they'll fit on 3 cds and I'd be happy to burn you copies- just send me a B&P. For those of you who don't know what a B&P is, (most-all of you) here are instructions:

    http://www.mcnichol.com/bnp/

    PM me if interested.

You couldn't just say blank CDs and stamps?

  4. I was happily awaiting this project, as this site would finally get a green greens remix, which it is lacking so much. Anyone who wants to 'stay away' from green greens can suck my ass.

Not that I have any say around here, that's just my opinion. So start sucking.

Yeah, you don't have any say, so you can suck yourself, for all I care. :P

I'd rather people covered Kirby's Advenure music. I'm not totally ruling out Green Greens; I might do it myself as a bonus track, but it wasn't really one of the big tracks in the game.

    Also, http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00612

And what a damn good remix it is

  5. I'm not sure what the quality would be like, and the delay would be horrid but...

    shoutcast.jpg

If someone who wouldn't mess around too much wanted to sacrifice their sound and/or bandwidth, they could relay it over shoutcast if people really wanted it too bad.

More of a temporary solution then a permanant one, but ya'know...just a thought.

  6. If it's not too late to get in requests, I wanna request either/or:

    BT - Kimosabe

    or

Crystal Method - Born to Slow

They're in Need for Speed Underground and they're both SO awesome. In fact, almost all the songs are awesome...except...the 2 Need for Speed specific songs (Petey Pablo - Need for Speed & Mystikal - Some other crap), they're both kinda meh.

  7. OK OK OK OK OK, REVIEWSSSSSSSSSS. Alrighty. Are ya ready? Here it goessss,

The song starts off with some nice piano,

And then another comes in like an echo,

Then the both got nots and the cymbal roll comes,

And then some pizzacato, but still no drums,

The orchestra hits are nice throughout,

And then comes in the brass, with a loud shout!

Things get alittle cool around 1:45,

The song seems to become a bit more alive,

The addition of oboe and a bell clank,

Followed by some string coming up on the flank,

The strings themselves sound like their from FFT,

And just so you know, that's perfectly fine with me,

    Oboe, paino thing at 2:54,

The music is nice, but the volume needs some more,

The paino joins in, with some soft strings,

And then a steady drum beat to livin' up things,

When the drums come in, the song really shines,

The piano style fits the drums just fine,

The clicky click sound reminds me of something a tad spanish,

And then the song slows down and starts to finish,

It closes it self off, just like it began,

Except a bit slower, and with the screaming of a man,

And a flute to tell you you lost the game,

This song's a bit minimalistic, but good just the same,

Some of the samples could use alittle touch,

But that's a small problem, really nothing much,

Although I think this would be better with a bit more stuff going on,

I give this a 7.5 on the cool-ness scale, and I think this very is done, :D

Bottom line, very very very cool, ESPECIALLY because it's FFT, and although mininalistic, and has some off samples, I really think it suceeded in what it was made to do.

  8. Russell Cox the mini-deity of game music remix0ring has done it again!

This entire song, from beginning to end is entirely high-grade, top notched, professional sounding, movie score-esque, A+++, grade A, super-dee-duper, absolutely fantabulous! Dynamics, instrumentation,

sample quality, overall, just plain 8O . Russell should be out getting paid all kinds of big money for people to look at him for making songs this good. Lucky for us he'd rather sit at home and dabble at Finale and make remixes for free! (Well, I'm sure he wouldn't mind getting paid, but that just makes him even better to be handing this stuff out for free!)

Words, and reviews can't even do this song justice. Just listen to it yourself. But make sure to have your drool rag near by because this song is nice like whoa.

    THIS SONG GETS!!!!!1111:

    8O8O8O8O8O : (5) KEANU "WHOA" REEVES FACES

There's only one more thing I can say about this one...

  9. Once in awhile, a remix comes along, that captures the true essence of the original, and take it to a whole new level feeling and atmosphere, that you can really just say "Man...this should be what the in-game song was."

If I'm correct, and I'm pretty sure I am, this is the music that plays in the old cruddy run-down ShinRa Mansion in Nibelhiem. With this song you can actually visualize what it may have been like walkin' through the mansion. With the creeking floor boards, and whispery winds and what not. Most specifically, it adds a spooky, ambient sort of feel that seems like something right out of Diablo II.

    This song gets....

    :twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::nicework:

5 twisted smileys and a Nice Work Guy for good measure!

    BRAVO!

    *thumbs up*

    Me = outty

  10. It sounds a lot like the Ultima 6: Gates of Creation remix by Potshot. There's more stuff on top of the sound, so it's harder hidden, but I swear, it's almost the same thing through a lot of it. It also goes a good deal faster.

This is not to say that it's a bad remix, not at all. Both remixes are great, really, really excellent.

Welllllll, it actually IS, but it isn't. More directly it's the same song as the one Suzumebachi remixed. WHICH, as you MOST LIKELY don't know, isn't a coincedence. But ya'see, when all of us were remixing "Create1" in #ocremix, no one knew it was from anywhere other then UO, because I had been the only one that ever had any Ultima appearence, and 6 wasn't one of them. But yes, they are the same song, and there's about umpteen million others. OCRE, injury, me, GLL, Carby, Suzu, PxFury, there was alot of'em

  11. Final Fantasy VII is my favorite game of all time for many reasons.

One of those reasons, is this song, and the story it represents.

How 7 years ago ShinRa Energy and Power sent a troop of soldiers to the town of Nibelhiem to inspect the Makou reactor. This is the song that plays as Barrett, Tifa, Red XIII, and Aeris sit around listening to Cloud tell his story up in the hotel of calm. Russell Cox could not have picked a better, more emotional, more meaningful song to remix, and he couldn't have done a better job of arranging it if he was Uematsu himself.

    Russell Cox. Man. Musician. Genius.

  12. Ok kiddies....

:arrow:8O This, is a dramatic understatement.

Right now, I'm gonna be under the assumption, most of you HAVEN'T played this game. That's your first mistake. This game is a graphical and musical masterpiece, and it's so indepth it'll keep you busy for literally a good few monthes if you tried to do ALL the quests. BUt this isn't a review of the game. This is a review of this song. A remix of the main theme. Which is already, by itself, one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, and the exact reason I played the game for more then 10 minutes. This song is AMAZING.

    AMAZING SONG.

    BEAUTIFUL
