  1. so I'm listening to version 3 after reading others' comments and I don't have any trouble telling exactly where the 'main course' of the remix, so to speak, is about to transition from the intro as it kinda explodes in after a nicely placed fade effect. My one complaint is after this really strong, in-your-face synth and drums section it just kinda...ends with no warning. That said this is good work so far.
  2. No complaints here, at first I thought it was a bit too close to the original but then I was proven wrong with some strong saxophone work. good stuff overall
  3. I'm not a remixer myself but decided to give my own two cents. I'm liking it so far (listening to version 4 now) and I think for added effect it would be cool to see a lo-fi intro up to the synth to help the middle section come out clearer (the player doesn't have a minutes:seconds timer so I'm not sure where exactly it's at in the piece). That said I'm hearing a little dissonance between notes in some of the lower-piano chords although that could just be reverb.
  4. Thanks everyone, no promises on any mixes soon but this will certainly help.
  5. I'm REALLY not sure where to put this so if this topic is in the wrong spot I ask for forgiveness ahead of time. I'm considering making mixes of my own but I don't have a good amount of cash to budget for it. So, I'm wondering if anyone here could point me in the direction of free (legal, please) software that I could use to make a remix, one that I could (hopefully) submit to OCR.
  6. I agree with XZero on the fact that game manuals have become half-assed, I recall a time that Nintendo and it's costars had very nicely detailed instruction booklets that went beyond basic controls and told a part of the story that otherwise wasn't there. Now, all you get are instructions in 3 different languages, two of which I can't read.
