There should be an album proposal in the appropriate inbox somewhere with all the details, but the plan wasn't to release the full album on June 23rd since there's quite a few tracks in progress that we'd like to see completed. We had some ideas for a teaser to announce the upcoming album tho
I'll check things with Black_Doom to make sure, the project isn't dead but we just need to pick a new date for it (we already brainstormed some ideas).

Listening to the whole album right now. Seems really nice. Been lurking the site for years, but I decided to create an account just now.
Fun fact: Arxidopita would translate to "testicle pie" in Greek (source: am Greek). Neat track though.

Hi everyone...this is Aubrey Hodges and I am the original composer for several Quest for Glory titles as well as many others over the last 3 decades. I have recently released the soundtrack for Quest for Glory: Shadows of Darkness http://aubreyhodges.bandcamp.com/album/quest-for-glory-shadows-of-darkness-official-soundtrack and thought it may be of interest to this site. I would be willing to provide a few of the newly recorded and arranged versions if that is something you would appreciate. I am not really sure if the original composers are supposed to be involved in the site or the remixes as I am new to ocremix. (I found out from a fan who sent me a link to the forum). Almost all of the new versions of the songs included are played with live instruments and are now what I had envisioned when I composed them originally. I do plan to release 3 more of my Sierra titles as well: Freddy Pharkas Frontier Pharmacist, Shadows of Yserbius (working on currently), and Robin Hood: Conquests of the Longbow. I have also release a 20th Anniversary Edition of my Doom Playstation Soundtrack that includes a ton of new material, longer tracks with new arrangements and 8 brand new bonus tracks. http://aubreyhodges.bandcamp.com/album/doom-playstation-official-soundtrack-20th-anniversary-extended-edition I sent a message to one of the staff but have not heard back yet. So right of the bat, I'm enjoying the feel. It's still fairly dark and menacing, but it's got more of that "serial killer clown at a haunted amusement park" kind of menacing vibe to it, which is pretty fun. The arrangement is definitely solid, so I don't have much to discuss on that front. Solo writing on the steel pan and trombone are especially high points.
You're right about your initial concerns regarding mixing, though. It's a little too tough to make out the drum parts for my taste. In particular, the piano tends to overpower them even when it's playing a background role (for instance, early on in the first statement of the A-section theme, when the piano is just playing that reggae "bubble" chord pattern, it's a little too much in the forefront. Reggae is a very rhythmic genre, in my eyes, so drums and bass should probably play a more prominent role in the sound, even with the more jazz-styled arrangement you've gone with.
Additionally, if you can find somebody to play those horn parts live, I feel like the quality of this track will improve by an order of magnitude. The writing is so solid, but I just can't get past that "uncanny valley" feeling I get from the trombone.
Seriously, though, keep up the work on this one. It's super good.

Here is my newest ReMix i'm working on. This time i decided to arrange the popular Sub Castle BGM from Super Mario World. I tried to do something different by using a more "upbeat" approach, while still remaining the dark/menacing mood of the source. Probably needs some work on the mixing.

Good news, everyone! We've got our 10th completed track - a sweet rock/fusion arrangment of Chemical Plant Zone by jnWake  Way to go, guys!

In the interest of making the forums easier to sign up for and more accessible to everyone, we've made some changes to registration.
In the past, we've had it so that new accounts had to be manually vetted and activated; this was to avoid spam accounts and the like. This worked, but a side-effect was that new members couldn't engage in the community immediately and would become discouraged from participating.
To move forward, we've done the following things:
Updated our manual registration form to use the latest reCAPTCHA. This is to help fight spam accounts. Removed administrator approval from the registration process. New members will be able to post immediately following email verification. Enabled new members to register using their social media accounts. New members can now use Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ to register. If you're already registered for the forums, you can link your existing forum account to any/all of your social media accounts by going to your Account Settings and clicking the relevant links. Once you do so, you'll be able to use your social media account to sign-in, as opposed to a traditional username/password sign-in.
If you have any friends who are interested in OC ReMix but haven't joined the forums, get 'em over here and get 'em involved! Between album projects, competitions, and gaming discussions, there's a lot to do here.

Hey folks. Sorry for the false alarm earlier today with the April Fool's joke. Some people seem to be assuming that because we did a joke today about the album, this entire month of my saying that the album is done was just a lead up to the joke. If you know me and my opinions about April Fool's Day, you know that I have very strong opinions about doing any part of an A1 joke outside of April 1st. Rest assured, Water is done in terms of both music and album art.

I've been working with @rnn who's our wonderfully talented album artist for For Everlasting Peace, Super Cartogrpahy Bros., and Apex 2015: This is the Moment, to completely revamp the visual look for The Fabled Warriors. Volume 2 is going to be a stepping off point for this series in terms of art. After Water is released, we're going to go back and redo the album art for Wind to match this new style; it'll feature Bartz on the cover against a "windy" backdrop and a wind-inspired circular pattern. The next three albums (Fire, Earth, and Dawn) will feature Faris, Galuf, and Krile.
I want to thank @Otakatt and @Monobrow for their help with the original album art for Wind all those years ago. I had a specific idea for the series back then and we executed on it really well. But given some distance, I've decided I want to change up the look of the series and make things consistent throughout. I'm pretty excited.
Anyway look for the real release of Water in the coming weeks. It's all coming together. All that's really left is some preparation stuff on OCR staff's side; trailer, comments, etc. Thanks for being patient.

We are still looking at options for the physical release (production costs of 1 disc vs. 2), but the digital version of the album will have individual tracks as well as one super mix.
