The drums sound weird, their dynamics and stereo distribution, but I like the rest. The break at 1:41 could use a bit more build-up or something to punctuate it with, it seems a little random. I like the slow pan stereo effect on the guitar plucks. Cool stuff.

Thanks for detailed feedback. I think i'm gonna work this song again soon and try to enhance drum track :)!

Interesting approach; I think with a nice, soft jazz drummer this would really shine. Gotta work with what you got, but that drum machine is very... drum machine-ish. ;)

The acoustic guitar work is a really cool interpretation of this source. J-pop often has some really great themes hidden behind their bombastic arrangements, which this arrangement capitalizes on nicely. Enjoyed it quite a bit!

Thanks Gario for the feedback! It would be awesome if there was a neat jazz drummer. If i someday work this song again, i'll definitely try to approach drums with that idea :).

Hey man, this rocks for sure. Arguably the hippest part of the tune is the beginning with those sweet subdivisions, though, so I'd recommend adding that in. May be tough to get the hang of, but would be totally worth mastering.

Thanks for the feedback! When i have time, i will get back to this arrangement and try that :)

So I'm sorry I can't find a more diplomatic way of saying this, but....

The percussion is so distractingly repetitive that my ears feel exhausted by 30 seconds in, and it's difficult to actually listen critically past that. The unchanging powerchords on rythm guitar don't help.

Having said that, the lead work is pretty nicely done. You're clearly both technically proficient on your instruments.

But.... I'm sorry, the percussion is just so repetitive it distracts from the rest of the performance.

Yeah it's true. Only place where the percussion changes is 3:14-3:58, but rest of the arrangement it's same. Thanks for the feedback!

  5. Hello! I finished my first Pokemon arrangement and wanted to share it with you people here :)! Violet city theme is quite tight track and it's very fun to play with guitar.

My arrangement is not very complicated, but i wanted to give this track some of my own rock / metal kinda spin :D.

Here is the link to my cover:

    And here is the original:

    Awesome!

The only thing I'd add is that I'd love to have those initial harmonics throughout the entire track (or at least for a few more bars).

    But still awesome, though.

Thanks! Yeah that's a good idea. I will experiment it when i continue this track :)!

Haha, shoot. You don't have to compete for the tracks yet - you're in the clear. The whole 'Survival of the fittest' thing is for people that miss a deadline listed, which is not for another month or so.

A WIP tomorrow would be great, though - I look for it. ;)

Ah damn, i screwed up some of my recordings :o. I will send you my WIP ASAP.

As many as you feel you can handle. If you can manage a good WIP for two tracks and keep up with deadlines, they'll be yours.

And yes, Lufia's soundtrack is amazing. ;)

Okay cool. I have material from my previous projects and i link some of them here to show what kind of things i can possibly do. Not greatest arrangements, but there are certain elements that i can mold into something new for this album :D.
