  1. About 6 Badges into Black 2, never played the first one. I'm enjoying it on my 3DS, but am having a movement issue. Of course in Pokemon you move on a grid, press up on the Dpad and you move up once. The issue I'm having is that I can't precisely move just 1 space at a time. I'll be attempting to go one space and move 2. I never remember any of the old games being this way, perhaps it's just my 3DS, but it happens with the circle pad and the dpad. It's becoming a serious issue in some areas that have random encounters, where I'm moving extra spaces to get to an item or just maneuver the environment to get through a doorway. Anybody else having this problem?

  2. The MGS series has gotten somewhat stale to me. When I was a kid I beat MGS about 24 times. I only played through 3 and 4 once. I've been wanting to play 4 again since the trophy patch came out. I played Peace Walker briefly on PSP and I didn't get passed the first tank boss. Never did play co-op.

  3. The thing that really pisses me off with Square's marketing with this game is that they keep talking about Lightning as if anyone cared about her. No, I didn't hate her or the cast of FF13 like some people (although I never bothered to beat the game once I got to Pulse), but she was never charismatic enough for me to care about what happened to her. Stop trying to pretend like we give a shit about Lightning Square-Enix.

    THIS.

I also never bothered once I got to Pulse. Lightning is not a good character, is she? Does she even have any character development? I'm one to talk, never beating either game, but playing both. Seriously though, does something interesting with Lightning ever happen?

  4. We're in the same boat, man. Good luck and stay positive.

But seriously though, nothing coming out? There's Fire Emblem, Paper Mario, NSMB2, Luigi's Mansion 2, Kingdom Hearts next week, Castlevania, and plenty of other stuffs. 3DS line-up is looking good.

That's true, the list I saw was Nintendo published only. I'm looking forward to Castlevania and maybe Fire Emblem (I haven't played one except for 20 minutes or so of the Ambassador GBA one).

I hope the 3DS gets a Final Fantasy Tactics spin off, much like the GBA and DS ones. I never enjoy them as much as the original, but at least the gameplay is similar. That would be pretty cool, now that I think of it.

  5. I read gamestop was doing a trade-up deal where they actually allow you to transfer your data from your 3DS into your new XL in the store. Pretty kewl. Not sure how much they take off of the XL's price though.

That is considerate, at least. I saw a post somewhere recently outlining Nintendo's schedule for the rest of the year, and honestly besides NSBM2, it looks meh to me, it's not like the Vita is much different (not trying to strike up any competition between the two in this thread AT ALL.) I just own both systems, so in my mind they are both competing for my time (and money).

On a somewhat unrelated note, I graduate from nursing school next week. I still have to take my state boards and find a job, but after that I should have much more time for games. Looking forward to having a more "normal" life again. /end TMI

  6. Personally I loved Bane's voice. It was very theatrical. Reminded me of Cid from FFXII mixed with Sean Connery.

Also someone at my showing cracked a fairly tasteless joke by standing up to wish everyone luck just before it started. Most nervous laughter I've ever heard from a crowd.

I liked his voice quite a bit, I just couldn't understand it.

The now classic Batman scene of "WHERE ARE THE OTHER DRUGS GOING!?", when Batman did it to Bane in this movie, I couldn't understand most of it. He did it in TDK to Joker, but I don't remember about what.

That's pretty inappropriate, part of me thinks it's funny though. (only because it didn't happen in my showing, I'm sure)

  7. I think Arrow might be one of the many who have an issue with the 'baby Yoshi' sfx they imported from Yoshi's Story for the GBA Yoshi's Island. I agree though that the games are virtually identical otherwise.

I had not played Yoshi's Island since on the SNES when it came out, and I didn't even notice the Yoshi's Story SFX they added. I prefer the original SFX when compared back to back, but it doesn't change the game play.

On a side note, I remember being so damn excited for Yoshi's Story, and then being really crushed.

  8. Now I'm honestly thinking about buying a 3DS XL, and the reason being that my hand cramps like something awful while playing the current model I have. Plus, I'd rather have a larger screen anyways, far too much wasted space on that handheld's panel.

I played Pushmo for about 10 minutes the other day and was shocked at how fast my hands cramped up. Not nearly enough to be interested in the upgrade, it's just a very rigid design.

Since it's tied to your download account, you should be able to.

Pretty sure that's confirmed. I saw a bunch of people talking about how cool it's gonna be to have ambassador games on the XL.

  9. Maybe the 3DS's successor will have 2 sticks, but it's really not practical to add them to the 3DS now. It's like how most Xbox360 games cannot require a hard drive, even though a lot of people have one. The user base is slightly fractured with the Circle Pad Pro, and to include a 2nd stick on the XL would only further fracture the original 3DS's audience.

I'm fine with it not including a 2nd stick (not upgrading to the XL btw), but it's only because I have lowered my expectations considerably with Nintendo portables (that's just a personal thing, not trying to preach). They are just different machines than what many people seem to want them to be.

Also, like Mirby said, there's only something like 8 games in Japan that support the CPP there, and a couple less here.

  10. Sorry for bumping the old 3DS thread. It's finals week and my life is hectic, anyways.

"Just a reminder for those that do Club Nintendo, June 30th is the cutoff for platinum status. I was resting at 580 points (20 away) and just happened to think about it randomly today. "

I bought Pushmo, and it's not showing up on my Club Nintendo account. Suppose I'll try to wait it out and see how long it takes to show up.

  11. Because using old controllers is so confusing. Wii used GCN controllers too ya know.

If people are getting confused by that then... well i dunno

Good point. I'm sure at some point someone had demoed SSBBrawl with a Gamecube controller.

  12. Everyone isn't confused. Jimmy Fallon is confused.

You're right, I am exaggerating, but they have had a few missteps outlining exactly what Wii U is and isn't to the general consumer, which probably doesn't concern any of us, since we aren't the general consumers.

Someone mentioned that Wii is to Wii U as the original Xbox is to the 360, you are completely right. However, I think part of the confusion stems from the fact that with Wii U players are often shown using Wii Remotes in adjunct with the new Gamepad tablet.

Maybe I'm blowing it way out of proportion. My apologies.

  13. I liked at the top of the show when Jimmy announced his guests, and was confused to what the Wii U actually was. He said something akin to "You can use it with your Wii, it's a new console though, wait.. do you need a Wii or not?"

That's the problem with Nintendo, everyone is still confused about what the damn console even is. Great messaging Nintendo.
