The new Animal Crossing remix album from Ben Briggs and ectogemia is out just in time for New Leaf!

Working with ectogemia (Nathan Becker) on K.K. and Friends has been a really fun and natural experience from start to finish, and we're proud to be finally showcasing the finished product! The music from the Animal Crossing series is fantastic, and we just wanted to tribute that in a way that fans of the games could truly appreciate... what all started from one remix became a huge, wonderful collaboration, and I hope you all love it. Shout-out to OCR's own Shael Riley for accidentally inspiring the entire album with just one tweet. Click the artwork below (by Tron Bonne Art) to download the album from iTunes, Bandcamp, or loudr.fm!

Hope you guys enjoy the tunage! It makes a pretty good alternate soundtrack to New Leaf, we've heard ;D

    With love,

  2. I proudly present my newest original album, Mystery Gift! This is all supposed to sound like Game Boy Advance style video game music, each track loops twice and then fades out just like a real soundtrack. I also listened to the sound of each track and used that to build locations for a loose Pokémon storyline/universe building type thing. Hope you enjoy this free original offering!! 3. it would greatly benefit any independent artist to stop thinking of "the music industry" in the old-world sense of record labels and getting lucky or whatever

there is an entirely new music industry within the actual reality of social media and the internet. cut out the middle man, and interact directly with your target audience. for me, my perseverance and daily streams of content are ultimately what grow my brand and increase sales/donations

  4. The N64 port of the Star Wars: Episode I: Pod Racer was crap. The PC port was actually really damn good.

I think the n64 version is kickass! still play it on rainy days

also, remember the horrible Gameboy advance port of sonic the hedgehog?

every single possible thing you could break has been broken

you might cry. somehow the special stage music sounds better than the genesis though

  5. the appeal of watching someone play a video game, to an actual gamer, should be obvious. have you never sat in a room with a friend and watched them play zelda?

    ...it's fun.

you all should check out Retsupurae, where they find the worst and strangest let's plays and make fun of them. sometimes they have other people play while they commentate, and very rarely they will actually play a game

in my opinion, finding livestreams on http://twitch.tv/ to watch is way more fun than recorded let's plays. I will admit that I love to put on Game Grumps' Sonic 06 run when I'm cooking or cleaning or eating, but other than GG and retsu I only watch speedruns and livestreams

oh, related news as well: siglemic just set a new 70-star World Record for Super Mario 64, and he livestreams ALLLL the time. http://www.twitch.tv/siglemic

  6. Final result of phase 1 (round 1 + 2).....

Congratulations to whoever voted for this track, you win!

As promised, this is the first of three track I'll be remixing. By the way, on my twitch.tv livestream (benjamin_briggs), whenever I'm remxing video game music, I'll generally capture my screen and use FLStudio live on the air. You can be I'll definitely be livestreaming the creation process for this Super Mario RPG track, so keep an eye on my channel!

With phase 1 over, it's time for phase 2! ROUND 3, TO PICK THE NEXT GAME, STARTS MONDAY AT 7 PM EST. Super Mario RPG is not eligible for this round.

Remember, MONDAY AT 7 PM EST. Facebook.com/bbriggsmusic. be there

  7. don't forget guys, we're voting for a GAME in the first round, and a SONG FROM THAT GAME in the second round. This will repeat three times.

With only four hours left to go in Round 1, here are the standings:

At 12 PM EST, the winner will be announced and voting will begin to choose which song from the game I will be remixing. Good luck to everyone's favorites!

  8. Ha! I'm struggling to get even 100 likes on my Facebook page. Oi vay.

Not sure what I would vote for here. I love your stuff, but I don't know all that much about either of these games. So I'm going to be totally not helpful and say remix something and I'll just enjoy listening to it.

Thanks for the repost on SoundCloud on that Zelda remix I did, by the way. ^_^

no problem! I really like that remix, and soundcloud's new setup is AMAZING and I hope they never change it... because I can actually help something like that gain more exposure just by clicking on a button. everything should be that way!
