  1. Quick question. If the vb switch is really, actually coming up within a week as TO suggested, could we perhaps have an actual announcement about the fact? There are some threads that need to be backed up before the forums are wiped and it would be nice to know exactly what kind of timetable we're looking at rather than just waking up one morning and finding everything deleted.

  2. Well, I never really got into the Donkey Kong Country series of games. I played a little bit through emulation, but I didn't really find them all that spectacular. However, I ran into this mix while going through the OCR bitorrent. This is the kind of piece that makes you go back to the orignal soundtrack to find the original piece. Unlike much of bLiNd's work, this is very mellow and relaxing. It just sounds fantastic. The VGMix version posted seems pretty much the same, but a few parts sound a little better. I really enjoyed this ReMix. It is very similar in structure to the original, but that doesn't make it any less awesome.

    96/100

  3. This was one of those mixes that I played over about 10 times when I first downloaded it. I enjoyed the original soundtrack to this game, and I enjoyed every aspect of this ReMix. It is very dramatic, powerful, and it has great momentum. I absolutely love the climax starting at 2:47. That may be one of my favorite moments in any OC Remix yet, with only a couple of exceptions. Very nice work.

    98/100, and awfully close to a 99/100. Let's call it a 197/200.

  4. Anyone ever played a tough little game called The Adventures of Batman and Robin on the Sega Genesis? It wouldn't surprise me if few people ever have, as it was an insanely hard game from start to finish. Long levels, tough bosses, lots of enemies, and firepower that was a bit underwhelming. I was playing through that profanity inducing game yesterday for fun, and one boss stood out... the level three boss from The Mad Hatter's level.

At the end of this level, you're faced (no pun) with a HUGE face of the Cheshire Cat. With a pair of claaws that move around and nail you, it also shoots out of it's eyes. This doesn't sound like much, but when you play it, it's always moving pretty quickly... making you always on the run dodging shots and the claws while trying just to get off a shot or two at it. This thing take a long... long time to kill. So long in fact, that chances are you'll never last long enough to actually kill it. I did once... once. I've never done it again.

It's such a simple thing with not that many attacks, but it sure as hell is hard.

Yeah, I didn't think he was that hard. I think The Mad Hatter and Mr. Freeze were harder. I loved that game, though.

  5. I am a little surprised that there are not more reviews of this song, so I might as well add my two cents. I really, really enjoyed this piece. Every element was perfect in execution, and it had a very professional feel to it. I want to say that I wish it were longer, but I think it was just long enough. It feels very complete, despite its length. An excellent remix. 94/100.

  6. The reviews thus far seem rather mixed, even DJP's, but this may very well be my favorite remix on this site thus far. I listened to it on headphones and havn't noticed a volume problem compared to other remixes.

What can I say? I really liked the orchestral intro. I liked the devlopment from 1:50 to 3:11. I enjoyed the trance part of the piece immensly (and trance is generally not my favortie genre). And the ending did its job well. Although each part of the song seperatly is not the absolute best within its own genre, the flow, momentum, beauty, and power of the remix makes it one of my favorites.

    97/100

Oh, and isn't the title of this remix "Emotions Lost in Time"? The site has it simply as "Lost in Time".

  7. Oh ya, and one boss I would have to say was the hardest was the Fate battle in Chrono Cross. I think I wasn't leveled up enough though, but I couldn't get past it. And I can't get past it now either, because my memory card with the save on it got messed up. Oh well.

The easy way to take out FATE is to steal a black plate from the black dragon. Since FATE only has one non-black attack (I think), that character will be invincible (most likely Serge). Also, set a few Freefall traps.

  8. Emerald was more of a pain, it did more damage and had that goddamned move that instantly kills everyone (except a lvl 100 Cid that somehow always only takes 8000-9000 damage). Oh well.

This is because he had eight pieces of materia. Aire tam is materia spelled backwords. It does 1111 for every piece of materia on a character. So, yeah, instant death for anyone with >8 pieces.

  9. I suppose it could be considered a boss:

The level 100 Prinny in Prinny Land 3 in Disgaea. I can take everything else in the stage, but that damn super-prinny does massive amounts of damage to my average level 40 team. And throwing the stupid things doesn't work in Prinny Land.

I'm currently fighting the level 4000 Lord of Terror Baal. 3.5x10^6 HP, does 3x10^5 per hit and I can't do any damage to him. I thought the Prinny God was easier than the last boss, but this guy is impossible. And I hear there is another, level 6000 boss after you beat this dude. (And I've put over 100 hours into the game already. It will take at least another 30 to beat Baal).

I would suggest leveling up in the first level of the final episode until you reach level 60-70. Shouldn't be a problem then.

And yes, I used scientific notation to make the numbers look larger.
