  1. it's like showing up to a party with a keg after everyone already passed out

    great job

hehe i know, im kinda pissed i didnt see this earlier, i did check in on the projects forums some months ago but must have missed this... too bad :) anyways keep me informed if you decide to go for bonus material i would love to join, otherwise good luck with the project!

  2. Well, i think the game concept is explained in detail on www.gravitronultra.com but the basic aspect is that you avoid being sucked into the black hole by gathering gravity orbs. These also acts as shields, because, if an enemy hits your base with a special projectile called Super-Ping, the base loose all the orbs, but if only one of the orbs gets hit, only that orb gets disconnected from your base. As the black hole gets more active, the more orbs you have attached to your base, the more slowly you get sucked into the hole, so the team that lives longest wins. Also, there are currently three types of orbs with different propertys. You control the game with a xbox360 controller, aim and move with both thumbsticks, left to move, right to aim, and shoot with the right trigger.. Theres actually a lot of different tactics you can use, its really interesting to watch two experienced players have a dogfight, using orbs as shields n stuff...

  3. Hi!

Just thought id fill you guys in on what ive been up to lately :)

During 2,5 months before this summer me and two classmates put together a game called Gravitron Ultra. We developed it using Microsofts XNA game studio. The goal was to win the competition Swedish Game Awards, wich had a category named "best XNA game". To make a long story short, we developed the game and we won the competition, we where also nominated in the "best PC game" category. After that, the game got nominated in the swedish version of ".Net awards" by Microsoft wich is really nice, and now, we are also amongst the top 20 in the worldwide Dream Build Play, where the winner gets a contract to develop for xbox live arcade, amongst other prizes. The results from the DBP will be in in about 1 week so its really exciting!

My role in the process of making the game was Project Manager, Coder, Musician.. The initial idea for the game came from my black book where i write down all my game design ideas. I wrote about 50% of all the code, we had a really talented artist for the graphics, Niklas Frisk, and a really talented coder, Christoffer Ekeroth, to make some of the more complicated physics, mechanics and camera stuff.

If you wanna know more on the actual game, check in on www.gravitronultra.com or http://www.sga.to/competition/entry/81

If you wanna view the trailer, best do it here (reccomended!!):

Just though id fill you guys in on why i havend made so many remixes lately, im pursuing that game-career full out here in sweden :) Wish me luck in these competitions ! :)

  4. Be sure to check the site out for my latest release "Mindstorm"!

    www.reunionstudio.org

Also, if think you have what it takes to release something at reunion, dont be shy, contact Platonist and submit some material ! Old or new, doesnt matter, the important part is getting cool fresh music out to people ! We want reunion to grow to a collective of creative minds willing to experiment and explore new territory! If anybody has feedback on the sites new look, its also very welcome! As said, a "shoutbox" functionality is in the works so hopefully youll be able to leave your footprints there soon!

  5. This is great..

I have had the pleasure of previewing the new reunion site and its really cool and stylish, i look forward to checkin it out when its done!

And now its time for me to make a promise.. By the 1st of August, i will have a new piece available for reunion to release.

/GaMeBoX (a huge fan of reunion!)

  6. Thats right. I held my promise to release at 1st Feb. Im really happy with the results, and as a response to the info section at reunion, yes, the solos are, as always (and as most of everything in my songs) live recorded.. All controllers is hooked up to the pitchstick. So i have a setup of Left: -2 semitones, Right: +2 semitones, Up: Wah-wah/Filter cuttoff Depending on wich sound. The first one is a cool moster lead type, with wahwah. The second one is a smooth moog-like sound. Enyoy :)

  7. Yeah, time surely flies by, and what a great start for ReunionStudio.org to already have 16 tracks! I would like to add that something new will happen on the site soon, as you can tell by the sticky post in the news section. One more thing. I have made a newyears promise, I will have a Reunion release ready for the 1:st February :)

  8. Good Day Kruai!

Im sure this issue have come up before on here. People have even remixed underground/online free releases such as Cave Story, im not sure if any of it was released on OCR. But, if youre serious about this game, then getting the game done should be your main concern, and getting good music for the game should be another of your main concerns. If the game one day gets finished (not a lot of them ever does), and the music turns out to be of quality, then im sure people will be interested in remixing songs from it. Especially if they like your game and its music.

If you want to submit some ideas for comments/feedback you can go to the wip/other section and post some songs there. There you can also include that you want these songs to be remixed when the game and/or music is done.

I wish you the best of luck with the game-devving and music writing!

  9. So... you wrote this long post, put a little grade + a short comment on every tune. Passing down judgement on songs, basically based on your personal taste more than on quality. Thats ok, but you could have spared me all those grades and comments, because they kind of totally loose their meaning the way you did it. Just passing on a snappy comment on a song youre dissing does nothing good, and makes you look more like an ass to me. I can agree that not all of these songs can be liked by everybody, but you have to look at each of these songs from the artists standpoint, and let them have some integrity for chosing to do a piano remix, vocal remix or whatever. A remix can build on a musical concept as much as on the feel/gameplay/atmosphere of a certain stage in a game, and for my own part, i feel, as long as interesting music has been created, then its a success. I believe the artists who have participated in this projects have as high thoughts about the S3&K OST as you, if not even higher, who knows?

  10. We are looking for both a webdesign and cd-cover-art... so basicly, if youre interested in doing art, its just to start working and show us what you have.. When the right time comes, the project management will deciede the details about stuff like, if there will be one official art-cover, and if so, wich one.. etc, etc...

  11. I haven't forgotten about this project. But I'm getting REALLY itchy to submit my Dustman Remix to OCR.;;; But I really wanna be in this project. It just needs some mastering and it's done.

well unless some things has changed, the rules where changed, you are allowed to release your songs in public at any time, so just go ahead when you think youre ready, just dont rush it out.. ;)

  12. I will try to record some live guitars then for this one... Its sure to be bluesy as hell.. But, i dunno if you knew, but i have never had any live guitars in any of my previous stuff except for home recordings... so, what youve heard so far is pure synthwork (with guitar samples in some cases)...
