  1. This is a mini album that has been in the works since last August (2011). I plan to complete it this time this summer when I'm not in school. So I'll update it here as I get new material. I plan to get some guest performers from school to hopefully do to single instrument parts or solos. I posted one song from the project last August, but to make things simpler I'll also post it here. Project Info The project is being based on a Final Fantasy 8 fanfiction I read when I was 14-17, which was over 10 years ago. I will be including some appearances of the FF8 OST in some of the pieces, but most of the material will be original music. I do plan to do one full on arrangement that I will post in the arrangement forum, as well as in this post. Music Propagator's March (Complete) -features part of the Residents from the FF8 OST This has been a popular track among the people that have heard it. http://soundcloud.com/freedomlionheart/propagators-theme-invasion Erasure/Guardian Forces Defeated (Needs to be mastered) -features part of Dead End from the FF8 OST http://soundcloud.com/freedomlionheart/the-erasure-guardian-forces First Contact (WIP) http://soundcloud.com/freedomlionheart/first-contact-invasion-project Invasion of Deling/Ragnarock Fleet Mobilizes (WIP) http://soundcloud.com/freedomlionheart/invasion-of-deling-ragnarok The Whelg's Sting (WIP) -Features part of Love Grows from the FF8 OST http://soundcloud.com/freedomlionheart/the-whelgs-sting-invasion More to Come This Summer... 2. Sounds pretty good. Arranging a piece to be similar to the original is actually really great practice for writing original material or more complex arrangements. I used to do it a lot, although back then, all I had was the basic midi, and later some free soundfonts, lol. Having sample libraries is really nice to have now, lol.
  3. Pretty much completed the song, minus some final ajustements to dynamics I'll make at a later time. The song contains portions of the song Residents from the FF8 soundtrack in the backround at some points, but again, not the main focus of the piece since the melodies and most everything else is original. I've also started work on the 2nd track of my project which I'll be posting once the 4GB more of RAM I ordered comes in since I can't load all my samples into Cubase for the 2nd song because I run out of RAM.
  4. First song in a project I'm doing based on a Final Fantasy 8 Fanfiction I read about 8 years ago. Most of the project will be all original material, but there will be the occasional glimpse of a theme or easter egg of a line from a song from the game but very few, which is why I'll be posting in this forum and not the remix forum. This first song is the theme for the enemy forces of story, the Propagator's. Which actually appear in the game when you first get on the Ragnarok. http://soundcloud.com/freedomlionheart/propagators-theme-invasion Quick edit: I know the percussion at the end is out of sync, plan to fix that in my next update of the song. It has something to do with the sample I used, I'll have to pick a different sample next time.
  5. In it to win this! Been a big fan of Nobuo Uematsu since I was 12 and he's one of my biggest inspirations for going into music composition.
  6. Great song, but as good as the 1st 4 Parts on the suite. I have to agree, it could use some Dynamics like fp and soft p or pp spots. the flute at some points just didn't sound real to me which surprises me with all the samples you use. overall I loved it (I like exciting peices, lol) but not as good as the first 4 parts.
  7. First off I'd like to say, finally anoter FF8 OCR not many of these and FF8 has such great music in my opinion. I'm listening to it right now, I sounds nice, A lot beter than the original in my opinion.
