  1. I have to say this has a lot of fantastic aspects. I like the approach and the arrangement. This sounds like a great movie/chill underscore. Unfortunately for me the execution and production really hamper this. There's a very thin and sparse, lacking element that goes on here. You have the drums/percussion, guitar, piano and bass, but there's very little going on between these elements. It feels vacant. A pad playing the chords would help a lot. I do like the instrumental texture you are going for here though. There's no dynamic contrast here, but I think for the type of music it's perfectly fine in my book. I'm really digging the style here. But I think the production here is also lacking. Everything sounds underprocessed, dry and vanilla. I think you need more reverb here for density, spacing within the sound field. Also this needs some eq work at this state. Needs a bit more bass and treble for warmth and shimmer. The overall production just comes across a bit lofi and plain. What I would give to hear this played by a good band though. The ideas are there, but the execution and production are both lacking. Keep it up Blue Magic, I really like your style. I hope you keep at it. Also I should note your hand percussion sequencing rocks - excellent work there. Needs more at this point in those categories to spice things up. NO

Conctact Info: Blue Magic Damon Campbell email: bluemagic1984@bellsouth.net website: http://www.angelfire.com/blues2/bluemagic/ Remix Info: Sonic and Knuckles Lava Reef / Hidden Palace Zone Comments: Its been a long time coming... This was suppose to be a collab, but things didn't go as planned. But its all good. I've been working on this for a little while now, and it finally done. This is a remix of Lava Reef/ Hidden Palace Zone from the Sonic and Knuckles soundtrack. It is sort of similar to my "New Beginnings" mix (with the mother nature sound FX and all), but in my opinion, it is a bit more upbeat and jazzy. Enjoy

For one thing, I've been working on this for a long time (since I finished "New Beginnings"). To be honest I didn't really plan on submitting it, so I wasn't too strict on finishing it. But after hearing some McVaffe mixes, I got some great ideas and decided to put forth a serious effort to produce a submission worthy mix. This mix is a real cool, laid back remix (as suggested by the title) in which I combine two totally different songs. I was trying not to rely too heavily on the originals, so alot of it is just me messing around. As for the genre, I was trying to combine a sort of ambient(ish) background with heavy bass and ethnic drums to create something like a New Age mix. Overall, I think I've done what I set out to do as far as this mix is concerned. I had loads of fun making it and I hope everyone enjoys my piece. This song is posted on my page and the link to my page is up above. Peace out and vote YES!!!

LT Edit: Original Decision - http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=48031 Contact Info: Damon Campbell (Blue Magic) E-mail: bluemagic1984@bellsouth.net http://www.angelfire.com/blues2/bluemagic/ ReMix Info: This mix is from the SaGa Frontier soundtrack. I believe the original title was "Alone" (Biolab theme). You can find my mix on my web page. The link is up above. I worked on this one a long time ago (it was like my secon mix) but you guys didn't like it very much. So, I made some badly need improvements and now I believe this version is a winner. I hope you all feel the same way too. Peace out and enjoy. -Blue Magic-
  5. If I am submitting my songs too fast, I apologize. I'm hoping it will take a little while before you guys get to this one. Anyway... Contact Info: Damon Campbell (Blue Magic) E-mail: Randy550@msn.com ID: OCR01325 ? ReMix Info: Chrono Cross "Dragon God," "Dragon's Prayer," "Seized by Life," "Orphanage of Flame" I can't make a direct link to the song, so you will have to visit my page to get it. Comments: Well, this is my first attempt at creating a orchestral mix and I'm sorta skeptical about it. People either like it or hate it, so I spent a lot of time just trying to decide if I wanted to submit it or not. In this song, I attempted to combine African an Orchestral percussion, which turned out pretty good in my opinion, and used creative ways of linking all four of the source tunes together to create a haunting, yet very moving, remix. Like I said before, this is my first attempt at a ochestral mix, so when I comes to the seating arrangements of the instruments and all that technica stuff, its not very accurate. If you guys decide to reject this, I would appreaciate it if you could give me a few pointers so that I can one day resubmit it. Thanks and enjoy
  6. DS Edit: because of the odd chromatics, lets get some other judges to weigh in. 6Y/N please within the week please, otherwise we convert to YES. Whats up fellas, Contact Info Remixer Name- Blue Magic Real Name- Damon Campbell E-mail address- Randy550@msn.com I don't know my User ID The song can be found on my page here: http://www.angelfire.com/blues2/bluemagic/ ReMix Info Game Remixed- Dark Cloud Individual song remixed- Moon Sea Original Composer- Tomohito Nishiura Copyright- Sony, 2001 System- PS2 Comments This is a little something I've been working on for the past week or so. It is a relaxing remix of the "Moon Sea" theme from Dark Cloud. I noticed that Dark Cloud doesn't get much attention from remixers from OC nor VG Mix, so I thought I would give it a try. The original song didn't really have much of a melody so I did my best to make up for it. Hope you like it.
  7. Blue Magic E-mail: Randy550@msn.com My mix is also posted on my site. The particular song I remixed was "Loneliness," from SaGa Frontier. I hope you guys like it.
