  1. Hi all, I've never posted here before but wanted to ask for some help/advice. I submitted this a couple years ago and then forgot about it until recently, went back to check the thread and it got denied. They had really good feedback, mainly praising the arrangement and pointing out some mastering issues. So I figured I'd post what I've got here and see if I could get some feedback/guidance on polishing it up so I don't have to waste time with a bunch of submission/resubmission processes lol. Here's the most recent version, after feedback from some helpful forum users: Revivify_Revised.wav Let me know what you think especially about the production side of things. Mastering is hard lol.
  2. Ok, so I think I got the muddiness fixed at least some, I changed the snare a bit, I changed one of the leads, hope it's more interesting. I also brought stuff closer to center. The distortion thing you heard was a pluck bass, I changed that also. The previous version I only sidechained the lower frequencies of the bass, this time I did a normal sidechain. 11-24 edit Tried to fix last things mentioned. remix below, also in last post of thread 12-12 edit Latest attempt. Tried a few different things, Different bass, different sidechaining techniques, etc. 12-19 edit below. Thanks for feedback ahead of time! 3. Edit October 11. One last revision here in this post. I added a couple tam tam hits, changed the timing of some triplets on the flute part, and also changed some notes because the reverb wasn't rendering correctly at on point....I altered the notes to get around that issue. Also made the drums just a tad more "wet", particularly the snare. Thanks! https://drive.google.com/file/d/16PhFOth7zVdJMpqnI9dHQfavfGUEV7k9/view?usp=drivesdk
  4. Not sure if it is possible to post this remix here because it's a fan game, but might as well. Loved giving the original a new nature-esque coat of paint, as well as making it feel more complete (with a constructive beginning and end - sort of an adventure in a way). Probably my favourite remix produced so far. Thx in advance to whoever listens. Kindest regards, Metris
  5. It's been a long while since I did any serious work, so here we go - a remix of Boss Battle 2 from Legend of Dragoon. While the last couple of Dragoon arrangements I did shifted the genre quite a bit, this time I decided to lean heavily into the original mood. I think it's largely finished, but there are still some things I'd like to touch up. Enjoy, and any feedback is welcome! And here's the original source:
  6. A synthwave rendition of Hurry! by Nobuo Uematsu, featured in the game Final Fantasy VII. This is my remix. This is the original song for reference. My arrangement is done on synthesizer. I kept the same BPM to give the same overall timing but manipulated the beat into an electronic/synthwave style. I also introduced many new instruments, micro-rhythms, and timbres.
  7. Original, though personally I'm more familiar versions used within Space Station 13 servers: Thanks for your time & consideration
  8. Here's my cover/remix of Ultima IV: Towns. Everything is programmed/recorded live in my keyboard. I would appreciate some input before i send it up on Overclocked.
  9. I prematurely submitted it before I knew this forum section existed, so I'm posting here for some feedback/review. Original Track: Full Speed Ahead! from Golden Sun: The Lost Age: Most recent version of my remix:
  10. Here's my cover/remix of Ultima IV: Towns. Everything is programmed/recorded live in my keyboard. I would appreciate some input before i send it up on Overclocked.
  11. Hey guys! This one gave me a LOT of work, but it was fun! I went for a Liquid Tension/Dream Theater vibe (minus keyboard stuff), I figured it would sound great since it has all these different sections. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, hope you like it. Let me know what you think
  12. Hi everyone! This is the first remix I've ever worked on, so I wanted to base it on a track I love. That happened to be First Steps from Celeste (an incredible game). The atmosphere it creates when opening the player to the game is immaculate. And the retro tuning of the instrumentation I adore. When developing it, I wanted to somewhat modernize it whilst retaining the emotional and atmospheric beats of First Steps as a whole. Hope y'all enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/metris-77761303/celeste-first-steps-metris-remix
  13. EDIT: Added SoundCloud link to the finished version. I've been on a Italo Disco binge and wanted to interpret a video game tune in that style. I chose Never More from Persona 4 because it's one of my favourite tracks ever. Basically I took the tune as is, rearranged it in Italo Disco style and used sounds from the 80's era: LinnDrum, Roland Juno, DX7 etc. It's still missing the outro and some production elements but as far as the arrangement and instrumentation goes I'm happy with it. I tried to steal as much inspiration as I could from classic tunes from bands like Modern Talking. Here's the original
  14. Hi, let me know what you think about it. 08-05-2022: 20:23 : I have updated the song 08-05-2022 : 20:40 : I have updated the song Kingdom Hearts Destiny - Black and White.mp3
  15. This is something I put together recently, and I thought I would post it here. I have a couple things I would like feedback on. Number one, I'm not sure on the balance and reverb on the SID lead, and I'm also not sure how others will like "the 80's threw up in here" kind of thing I have going on. I personally like it, not sure if others will. Thanks for feedback ahead of time!:) Edit: I made a couple of adjustments. Looking4BuddiesMasterWAV.wav

Original: Rearrangement: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9mz8x5t4f4hfxwi/eino_keskitalo_-_sieluraiteet-20230106-rc5.mp3?dl=0 Old versions: https://www.dropbox.com/s/339befddrodv5f7/eino_keskitalo_-_sieluraiteet-20230105-rc3.mp3?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/vue95l2ak4z8isa/eino_keskitalo_-_sieluraiteet-20220415-rc1.mp3?dl=0 This one comes originally all the way from People's Remix Competition round 247, in 2013! https://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/PRC247
  17. Hey everyone! In this rendition I went for a kinda doo wop 50's style, drew some inspiration from Sleep Walk. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lo-NqgZHhAImrFf-OEJf53tQp6eY-u8C/view?usp=sharing Hope you like it! Please let me know what you think, comment on the production, arrangements, etc! Thank you
  18. Hey guys! Here's my version of Krooks March from Donkey Kong Country 2 (aka the Castle Theme from that game). https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pLEhWwtJ301pH9aVGFXS-8dOZE92DqX0/view?usp=sharing My goal was to make a metal cover of this and since the song itself is very symphonic this turned out like a mixture of Dream Theater with Iron Maiden. Hope you like it! Please let me know what you think, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  19. Here's my slow version of Chemical Plant Zone. Everything is programmed/recorded live in my keyboard and the main melody is performed live ontop of the prerecorded and arranged track. I would appreciate some input before i send it up on Overclocked. This is the speed i currently can play the song in, should i speed it up with software or let it be like it is?
  20. I recently completed a piece and have decided I liked it enough that maybe I could make it a submission here at OC Remix. Just not sure where to work on, add, or if I should keep it as is. As it is now I'm happy with it.
  21. I did a big symphonic arrangement of Dancing Mad. Any feedback/criticism is welcome!
  22. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nslk0kBzSzI Golden Sun is probably my favorite OST so I made this remix of the Aqua Rock theme. I'd like to submit it eventually but I'm not sure what more I'd need to work on, so looking for feedback! this is the original track:
  23. Hi folks! Working on making a version of Chrono Trigger's "Guardia Millennial Fair" that sounds like it's taking place at night, rather than during the day. Hoping to get feedback on: Whether this feels okay to submit — it's short, and uses a layer of samples from Splice to bring in vibes How's the instrumentation? Anything clashing, or any parts need improvement? How's the mix? Anything too loud or too quiet? Does the panning seem okay? Appreciate any and all feedback! 24. Finally able to put out some new music I hope you enjoy my new remix of the Sonic 3 final boss. for evaluation purposes
  25. I'm satisfied with this, but I wanna make sure I didn't screw up and not catch it, so I'm poasting it here (never mind my spelling, I like toast!). https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1093989 I'll be editing this poast for a YouTube embed when the video publishes tomorrow evening... Edit: Jesus Christ. Okay, I just listened to it sober. Well, my writing is good (always is when I'm drunk), but I screwed up so bad on the mixing and transitions. Wow, I need to fix this. Edit 2: this and the next poast are the same link. I replaced the audio file in the page.
