  1. Kind of an extension of the original, abit rearranged, slight odd time signiture later on for fun. Mix of ambient and uhh, I dunno, hard funky electronic?
  2. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/975054 Estrayk wrote the original Her11.mod the proper oldschool way using Protracker on an Amiga. The song is one of his many in the Her series of chiptunes for Paradox, the cracking group. It was featured in this game, Lyle In Cube Sector, at one of the last areas accessible. The game is made by Bogosoft and plays like a metroidvania and has a really solid soundtrack of chiptunes. Can't recommend it enough if you enjoy retro-style games. The premise of the game centers around some cloaked weirdo who steals your cat so you're on a mission to get it
  3. EDIT (20-10-23): Updated the mix and master as it was very kick and bass heavy. Should be a more balanced sound now. Updated spooki sounds here A dark psytrance remix of "Jaffars Theme" and "Final Battle" from Prince of Persia for the SNES. A sampled reference from the original Apple II version of Jafar conjuring forth the hourglass is also present in the song though that's more of a soundeffect than any sort of musical score. Original composers for the SNES OST are Toshiya Yamanaka and Tetsuya Nakan. The small sampled bit was a melodic sting for the Apple II version written
  4. This isn't the first remix from a game I've completed, however it is one I am more confident with: https://www.bandlab.com/vodouqueenxiii/groove-of-the-ancients-jazz-funk-dance-mix I decided I might as well throw myself into the deep-end (hope I'm doing it right), but yeah. Any advice, pointers, or criticisms (good or bad) would be great. Hoping to get something into submission at some point... I realize Cakewalk / BandLab is not on the usual list of DAWs to work with, by the way, but it's all I have to work with at the moment. I am extremely new to composing, arranging, mi
  5. I did my take on Superman's stage 5 music. Developed by Hudson Soft, composed by Kenji Yamazaki. I’ve been using synths for years but this was my first attempt at recreating video game music. It was a lot of fun. DAW: Ableton Live Hardware: Virus TI Polar, Roland JP-8000 VST's: TAL-Chorus-LX, iZotope Ozone, Blue Cat (stereo field & freq analysis VSTs), FabFilter Pro-Q2, Pro-C2, Pro-L2 Original track:
  6. https://youtu.be/6U0ZfFu6pxE Even though I never played Silent Hill 2 when it first came out, its evocative soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka stood alongside albums by such artists as Portishead, Massive Attack, and Aphex Twin in my rotation of brooding, atmospheric music I loved as a teenager. Years later, the now infamous P.T., a "playable teaser" for the cancelled Hideo Kojima reboot Silent Hills quickly became one of my favorite video games of all time (and definitely the scariest piece of media — movie, game, book, or otherwise — I've ever experienced). After finally getting my hands on a
  7. I did a rendition of Tifa's Theme from Final Fantasy in a small, intimate orchestral setting featuring many performers for the Pixel Mixers FF7R tribute album. Tifa is a very interesting character to me. I wanted to try and capture Tifa's spirit as I saw her, as this strong, badass but also somewhat shy, deeply caring and slightly anxious woman and tried to express that in the music and the arrangement. Did I succeed? Well, that's up to you to decide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ewpTO-NtQU&lc
  8. Hello, I got inspired to try to make a fairly long and varying remix of such a short theme as Heat Man’s is. I’ve been working on this for some months now and I feel it’s time to get some feedback on it. The composition, instrumentation, and balancing are done, and that is what I would like to get some feedback on first. I haven’t done any EQ, compression, or adding any effects like reverb and delay yet. Please let me know what you think about it, looking forward to hearing your feedback! NEW VERSION BELOW!
  9. Hi, Here is a piano arrangement of "If you open your heart" from ff7. This is not a major theme of the game. But I find this music interesting to work on. About the inspiration, there are a lot of Asian harmonies. I was also influenced by some pieces of Debussy, an author that I like a lot. Any feedback is welcome!
  10. Super Street Fighter 2 - T Hawk Theme Remix (UPDATED) Hi! Hoping to get some feedback on this remix ive done. I'm mostly done with it but i'm trying to polish it up. Some questions. Is it too busy, cluttered sounding? Is it too bass heavy? I tried a brighter variant with more mids and went back to this. The instrumentation ok? Also if you spot any faux pas in there that ive missed, let me know and i'll argue that it was intentional :P Thanks for the advice, ive made some small updates.less swing, levels on pads changed in places. added some definition to the lead sound (
  11. Hi y'all! I'd love to hear what you think of this submitted remix of my favourite map from Unreal Tournament. Made entirely with KORG Gadget on the Switch!
  12. Here is an orchestra arrangement of "Cleyra" and "One danger put behind us" from Final Fantasy IX Original music : Nobuo Uematsu Arranged by me : Flute : @Bowlerhat Violin : @Chris ~ Amaterasu I had several influences for this arrangement: Celtic, movie, march band… I came where I wanted, following my inspiration and my mood of the moment. Enjoy!
  13. Hey guys! I hope you've all been well. Recently I came back to making videos after a 2 year long hiatus involving hurricanes, earthquakes, and now a pandemic Also tried to download Mega Man II on my iPhone and hated it so, so this is my way of venting my frustrations with that I hope you guys enjoyed it, would love to know what you guys think!!! And if you share, like or comment on the vid or any of my social accounts i will GREATLY appreciate it
  14. Hi guys, another remix from me. This time I'm trying to mix surf-rock guitar from "Steam Gardens" in dnb-style. Original track: Feedbacks are welcome! Thanks and have a nice day!
  15. Hi guys, here's another remix of NES classic from me. In the beginning this track was performed by... 'The Beatles' (seriously), then it was released by Ultra\Konami as soundtrack for NES 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' videogame. And NOW I took this melody and made... Well, I think it's sounds like liquid funk remix, heh. It was my first experience in this music style. Track already submited and waiting in OCR inbox but feel free to leave feedback. FLAC download - https://cjblackace.bandcamp.com/track/night-walk Thanks and have a nice day!
  16. This is a remix of "Lost Woods" from The Legend of Zelda. It's definitely not uncharted territory, but I've had this style in mind for ages now and just had to get it out. It uses a lot of instruments from around the world, featuring primarily African instruments (Kora, Ngoni, Bolon, Fula Flute, Kalimba, Calabash) and some Andean instruments (Pan Flute, Charango, Ocarina). An Irish Low Whistle doubles the melody at parts. Original: "Lost Woods (Saria's Song)" by Koji Kondo, from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Made with Logic Pro X. Samples running through Native-Instr
  17. Just threw this together quickly as I wanted to pay tribute to my favourite part of the new Streets of Rage 4 soundtrack. For me the soundtrack is really interesting, I personally miss the iconic melodies of the first two games but overall it works, and while I feel it is lacking those catchy melodies, suddenly there are moments like this in the game where it just hits home and immediately feels nostalgic even though it's brand new. https://youtu.be/LfDkxa2Teek
  18. Salutation everyone! Please, listen to the last version: V6, now with REAL GUITARS bits in it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/144o313TO7cJql9JJuTRYo57A90Qqlkku/view?usp=sharing Every time I start a new track, I think about the story it will tell. Concerning this one, it's kind of a crossover between The Matrix and the original story of the game: the hacker Link tries to hack into the JANUS system to find answers. The thing is, nothing goes according to plan... Regarding the arrangement, I was inspired by different sources, such as Master Boot Record, The Algorithm or to som
  19. Mute City - F-Zero Orchestral Remix OCRemix newbie here. I recently got into putting bits of music together and it's quite a lot of fun. I submitted this piece already but figured I'd drop it in the forum as well. Let me know what you think!
  20. Hi, Here is a piano arrangement of the song theme of ff Crystal Chronicles. Originals: Song : Moonless Starry Light v1 (main version) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7Jrh-2baAE&list=PL5F286D0D14A5E1B0&index=52&t=0s v2 (with more rythm at the end) https://youtu.be/_0LYPdUjfqQ?list=PL5F286D0D14A5E1B0&t=221 Orgel of water https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7Jrh-2baAE&list=PL5F286D0D14A5E1B0&index=51 Arrangement: The arrangement is mainly on the song, v1 for the peaceful parts and v2 for parts with more rhy
  21. Hello everyone! Been a long time since I've posted anything on here (over a decade!). I have here a dance style remix of "Rebel Army" from Final Fantasy II, titled "Rebels Like to Dance Too!". I consider this pretty much complete and ready for submission, but want some feedback first. Thanks! -Brink https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uHWydbVZLy3gg8JJp9CCyT5vpoIr6b4V Source:
  22. Hi. My first post here. Already submitted this track and I hope it will be released soon. Kyattou Ninden Teyandee aka Ninja Cats aka Samurai Pizza Cats. Great game for great 8bit console. I took funny 15 second melody from cutscene and made 5+ minutes remix. Hope you like it.
  23. *unburies KH Arrangement*...I arranged this like 3 years ago.The Life Death and Rebirth of Radiant Garden for Solo Piano~2019.mp3 let me know what you think
  24. (MP3 direct download link here) Hey folks, been a while since I last posted. Here's something very different from the last two pieces I put up here. It's a synth-heavy combo of Acts 1 and 2 from Sonic & Knuckles' Lava Reef Zone. I always loved the inherent juxtaposition of Lava Reef - the fiery magma of Act 1 vs. the cool, almost ice-like crystal structures of Act 2... and of course, the music for each differs appropriately. The goal with this remix was to try and blend the smooth intrigue of Act 2 with some of the intensity of Act 1. Genre-wise it's a mix of things - early
