  1. Hey guys! I hope you've all been well. Recently I came back to making videos after a 2 year long hiatus involving hurricanes, earthquakes, and now a pandemic Also tried to download Mega Man II on my iPhone and hated it so, so this is my way of venting my frustrations with that I hope you guys enjoyed it, would love to know what you guys think!!! And if you share, like or comment on the vid or any of my social accounts i will GREATLY appreciate it
  2. This is a remix of "Lost Woods" from The Legend of Zelda. It's definitely not uncharted territory, but I've had this style in mind for ages now and just had to get it out. It uses a lot of instruments from around the world, featuring primarily African instruments (Kora, Ngoni, Bolon, Fula Flute, Kalimba, Calabash) and some Andean instruments (Pan Flute, Charango, Ocarina). An Irish Low Whistle doubles the melody at parts. Original: "Lost Woods (Saria's Song)" by Koji Kondo, from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Made with Logic Pro X. Samples running through Native-Instruments Kontakt 6, Best Service ENGINE, and Orchestral Tool's SINE Player. The background photo is made by UndyingNephalim, featuring his re-design of Saria for his Zelda-inspired RTS game mod, Hyrule Conquest (based on the free game 0 AD). Download via Google Drive (OGG, WAV, MP4)
  3. Just threw this together quickly as I wanted to pay tribute to my favourite part of the new Streets of Rage 4 soundtrack. For me the soundtrack is really interesting, I personally miss the iconic melodies of the first two games but overall it works, and while I feel it is lacking those catchy melodies, suddenly there are moments like this in the game where it just hits home and immediately feels nostalgic even though it's brand new. https://youtu.be/LfDkxa2Teek
  4. So in an attempt to challenge myself and prove my insanity, I took David Wise's Haunted Chase and somehow someway turned it into a German Polka. I threw in Grant Kirkhope's Creepy Castle from DK64 too. This WAS NOT EASY to turn from Minor key to a Major key. But I did it. Somehow. and now...in retrospect...I ask why? I also made a music video...With puppets. That I built. Music Video: I also literally bought a German alpine VST just for this cover. HUGE THANKS to Luis Vasquez for Mixing/Mastering this stupidity. This is really my first legit professional (?) remix. I DO plan to submit this to OCR. Original Tracks:
  5. Hello everyone! Been a long time since I've posted anything on here (over a decade!). I have here a dance style remix of "Rebel Army" from Final Fantasy II, titled "Rebels Like to Dance Too!". I consider this pretty much complete and ready for submission, but want some feedback first. Thanks! -Brink https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uHWydbVZLy3gg8JJp9CCyT5vpoIr6b4V Source:
  6. Hi, Here is a piano arrangement of the song theme of ff Crystal Chronicles. Originals: Song : Moonless Starry Light v1 (main version) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7Jrh-2baAE&list=PL5F286D0D14A5E1B0&index=52&t=0s v2 (with more rythm at the end) https://youtu.be/_0LYPdUjfqQ?list=PL5F286D0D14A5E1B0&t=221 Orgel of water https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7Jrh-2baAE&list=PL5F286D0D14A5E1B0&index=51 Arrangement: The arrangement is mainly on the song, v1 for the peaceful parts and v2 for parts with more rhythm. At 3'50, it closes by "Orgel of Water". This music is nearly the last one of the OST. I felt it perfect to close the arrangement Let me know if you see some points to review Thanks for your feedback !
  7. Salutation everyone! Please, listen to the last version: V6, now with REAL GUITARS bits in it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/144o313TO7cJql9JJuTRYo57A90Qqlkku/view?usp=sharing Every time I start a new track, I think about the story it will tell. Concerning this one, it's kind of a crossover between The Matrix and the original story of the game: the hacker Link tries to hack into the JANUS system to find answers. The thing is, nothing goes according to plan... Regarding the arrangement, I was inspired by different sources, such as Master Boot Record, The Algorithm or to some extend Igorrr (all fantastic bands, but rather extreme), even though I shifted to something different along the way, and added some trance elements. Overall, I think it's a very fun track, but I lack confidence in my mixing/mastering skills, so I'd appreciate if you could focus more on this aspect. God, I hope you'll like it as much as I do Really, I'm open to all sorts of feedback. And of course, thank you for reading all this! Merry Christmas, happy new year, and have a fun listening tl;dr: fun electro/metal remix, I'm looking for feedback, and hope to be posted Old versions: version 1 version 2 version 3 version 4 version 5 version 5 more bass Source: Gameboy version / Switch version Post submission edit: I hid stuff in the specter of the track. I tried to hint at it (read the first letters of each paragraph of this post up to the tl;dr) but I guess it was too much work for anyone to notice ^^ So here is a link to a pdf detailling all the easter eggs I hid in the track : https://drive.google.com/open?id=1B4o86pP--KYy7mTOpKp7JxvTTCMjK1vY Also, thank you to everyone who listened the track and commented, be it on the discord or the forums, and most particularly to Timaeus who played a major role in the production of this remix. See you all soon, be it for another remix of mine, or just to rework this in case of rejection!
  8. Hi. My first post here. Already submitted this track and I hope it will be released soon. Kyattou Ninden Teyandee aka Ninja Cats aka Samurai Pizza Cats. Great game for great 8bit console. I took funny 15 second melody from cutscene and made 5+ minutes remix. Hope you like it.
  9. Hello everyone! I'm Eidenlux, and this is my first post - so I deeply apologize for any mistake I could incur into. I'm gonna share with you a tune I've submitted yesterday. Being my first submission to the OCRemix community, I just realized it could've been a better idea to post it here first, so I could have some outside feedback before bring it directly to the jury. I'm not sure whenever this style is widespread, hence the question mark in the title. Basically, it's a blend of Symphonic metal, Cyber metal and Synthwave - Replacing the vocals with lead, "retro"-style synths. So, for that manner, I'm gonna give some background info about this track. I apologize if it's too long, that's why I'm gonna post the story part in spoilers, so you can skip it if you're not interested in the details (although they could be useful to understand the context of the production and arrangements): So, after many years, I thought: "I love this track. I have now mastered the production style I want. Now it's the time to make my own version". For that manner, I tried to leave some reminiscences of the original CPS instruments, like that synth used in the middle part of the original track, using my own synthesis (ironically based on those classic sounds). I would love to read any kind of opinion on any aspect of the tune, both musical and/or production-wise. As for my part, I'm comfortable with the overall production, which is basically what I had in mind. I didn't deviate too much from the original source track, except for a few details, new instruments like distorted guitars, stronger drum presence and the addition of my personal middle part in the second round of the track. Perhaps I like this tune too much to change it to the extreme hahaha But I'm quite satisfied with the final results; otherwise, I don't think I would have had the guts to submit it in the first place Anyway, here I'll leave the link on Bandcamp, it should have an acceptable, good streaming quality: https://eidenlux.bandcamp.com/track/royal-flush-bgp-groove Thank you a lot for this space and your time. We'll be reading each other
  10. Hi, Here is a piano arrangement of "Airship" and "Legend of the Deep Forest" (final fantasy 5) https://soundcloud.com/bluelighter0085/final-fantasy-5-flight-over-the-enchanted-forest In its original version, "Airship" was in a heroic mood. I've tried to play it in a different way. After that, it was natural to marry with the forest theme. Enjoy
  11. For now, I call it "High Voltage" You see what I did there? I just wanted everyone to get a listen and maybe let me know what they think of this mix. I worked for almost 14 hours on it. And yes, I still upload on Newgrounds. It's still a thing and still alive.
  12. Hiya, I did a Future Bass/EDM arrangement of Cid's Theme from Final Fantasy 9 (for the Pixel Mixers FF9 album Beyond the Mist), featuring @Earth Kid on vocals. It's a bit different from my usual stuff and there's frog sounds in it, so what's not to like?
  13. (MP3 direct download link here) Hey folks, been a while since I last posted. Here's something very different from the last two pieces I put up here. It's a synth-heavy combo of Acts 1 and 2 from Sonic & Knuckles' Lava Reef Zone. I always loved the inherent juxtaposition of Lava Reef - the fiery magma of Act 1 vs. the cool, almost ice-like crystal structures of Act 2... and of course, the music for each differs appropriately. The goal with this remix was to try and blend the smooth intrigue of Act 2 with some of the intensity of Act 1. Genre-wise it's a mix of things - early on there's some downtempo/chillout vibes, but later it gets more energetic. I suppose there's some synthwave influence too (lots of analog-style leads and pads, heh) Here's a couple links in case you've not heard the source tunes before: Act 1 - Act 2 - Hoping to submit this for review at some point, so by all means - have a listen and critique anything and everything about it! Edit: this track has now been submitted to the Judges Panel, changing the prefix to reflect this. Thanks again for your help everyone!
  14. Mashup of Aquatic Ambiance from Donkey Kong Country and Stickerbush Symphony from DKC2 done in a heavy synthwave style. It's not just a simple medley as both themes borrow elements from the other. The entire track was assembled mostly from memory, so things might not be 100% accurate to the actual thing, but reasonably close? Both tracks are really well-known, oft-remixed David Wise pieces, but I haven't seen anything done quite like this. I'm not the best with production/mastering so I'd love some feedback on that. Direct link to mix (mp3) Direct link to mix (uncompressed WAV) Originals: Aquatic Ambiance Stickerbush Symphony
  15. Hello everyone I could not decide whether to release this song ,but I decided to do it! Here is a remix from Hollow Knight game from The Grimm Troupe DLC, there is a three songs in one I choose to remix it to the metal genre because this fight with him is epic!
  16. Hi, Here is a piano arrangement of Yuna's Decision of ff10. https://soundcloud.com/bluelighter0085/ff10-peace-and-bliss-yunas-decision-in-piano The original music sounds peaceful and a little romantic; I wanted to keep this spirit Enjoy !
  17. Here is my remix for one of the many forgotten Capcom fighting IP's that I did for the most recent DoD competition. Enjoyed playing the first Star Gladiator on the PSX and when I was able to get my hands on the sequel for the Dreamcast the OST was absolutely my kind of shit. To say that this source has been on my to be remixed list for awhile is an understatement. Proud of this one because it's the first completed VG Remix I recorded with my new ESP Eclipse that I acquired not too long ago and this remix turned out better than expected. Might change a few things before I submit this but I plan on getting it in to the panel soon. Have at it. Source:
  18. So I submitted this stuff at the beginning of the year and haven't heard anything back on it yet, so it hasn't been rejected! Anywho, here's my take on select songs from Megaman X1-3. I have wanted to do covers of Megaman X stuff for a long, long time and finally got around to it last year! I felt like the majority of covers I've seen of Megaman X stuff has been on the harder side of things, be it metal (with guitar work most of the time lightyears better than I could pull off), or fast electronic stuff, and I always had different things in mind when interpreting the tunes. It's been pretty rewarding, and I'm proud of it. Hope you enjoy, friends https://gysklar.bandcamp.com/album/megamex
  19. Used my keyboard to figure out the notes then I fixed them b/c my god, the left hand stretches 2 octaves frequently on the arp. I'm guessing Akira did this all one handed ...That sounded wrong (or maybe that sounded right). (Probably used a mouse). Anyways...how's it sound? O right. Source:
  20. Mute City - F-Zero Orchestral Remix OCRemix newbie here. I recently got into putting bits of music together and it's quite a lot of fun. I submitted this piece already but figured I'd drop it in the forum as well. Let me know what you think!
  21. Sekiro Explore Theme (Youtube) My atmospheric version of Sekiro explore theme, hope you guys enjoy it!
  22. Hi all! I completely new to to this site but though the idea of doing some remixes was a great way to stretch my musical wings a bit. Thought I'd introduce myself with my first remix attempt. Soundcloud link
  23. *unburies KH Arrangement*...I arranged this like 3 years ago.The Life Death and Rebirth of Radiant Garden for Solo Piano~2019.mp3 let me know what you think
  24. I submitted this a year or two ago, it (eventually) came back with some feedback, some of which was good (helpful mixing tips), some of which was bad (no, I'm not going to re-write the entire song, mate). I submitted a second version based on the mixing advice, but it never showed up. SO I'm guessing whoever thought I should restructure the song based on their whim got pissy. Anyway, for what it's worth, here's the review: https://ocremix.org/community/topic/45559-no-jazz-jackrabbit-jdhd/ And here's the first version, replete with video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2Nd-0rkCdI Anyway, I'm probably not going to do any additional work on this, seeing as how 2 of the judges got up their own ass wanting to remove the only thing that made the song worth making in my view (the bridge and subsequent contrast to the chorus). A friend noted to me (I respect his advice) that the initial transition was too quick, and that's valid. But I didn't want to make something predictable or consistent. That's not what this is about.
