  1. So I submitted this stuff at the beginning of the year and haven't heard anything back on it yet, so it hasn't been rejected! Anywho, here's my take on select songs from Megaman X1-3. I have wanted to do covers of Megaman X stuff for a long, long time and finally got around to it last year! I felt like the majority of covers I've seen of Megaman X stuff has been on the harder side of things, be it metal (with guitar work most of the time lightyears better than I could pull off), or fast electronic stuff, and I always had different things in mind when interpreting the tunes. It's been pretty rewarding, and I'm proud of it. Hope you enjoy, friends https://gysklar.bandcamp.com/album/megamex
  2. My remix of 'Peach Beach' and 'Daisy Cruiser' from the best Mario Kart game, Double Dash. A GameCube classic. After remaking the first half, I mixed in a little bit of Sherbet Land, Title Theme, Rainbow Road, Yoshi's Island, and finally a little bit of the Race Won music at the end. Hope you can enjoy it! I'm interested in submitting this here; please let me know if this meets the requirements. -Juke Original:
  3. Sekiro Explore Theme (Youtube) My atmospheric version of Sekiro explore theme, hope you guys enjoy it!
  4. Hiya! Another Temple theme cover!? Well, yes I made a cover of this like ten years ago and shared it to ScrewAttack g1 submission thing or whatever. It sucked hard, but it was the best I could do at the time. So when I started getting serious about the video game remixing/covering (btw, which is it!?) I wanted to do this again to show myself how I have improved... and I have, if I say it so myself. Got a bit side tracked on the end riffing, but I thought it needed some heavy dropped D twanging release! Have a lovely day y'all! Original tune:
  5. Hi! This is probably my best cover out of eight that I have put up on Youtube and Spotify. Having hard time finding any kind of audience/community to share these so I figured this is the place where I can find some video game music fans that give opinions and hints! I try to be pretty faithful to the original arrangements and bulid my own stuff on top of that cos' it brings my piss to a boil when you have a metal remix of some tune and it's just filled with double kick and djent without anything to do with the original arrangment. So there's my modus operandi, enjoy! Original:
  6. Hey all!! I’ve been following OCR for a long time and gotten a lot of my musical inspiration from listening to community albums, mostly in the Sonic series. So I figured I would post one of my recent mixes here! This is partly a self-advertisement, so feel free to remove this post if that’s against a rule, but I’m mostly just looking for feedback on production. I have a lot to learn when it comes to mixing, and I really want to get better so I can create clearer and more cohesive masters. All tips are appreciated!! But here’s my take on “Rude Buster” from DeltaRune. And if you enjoy it feel free to like/subscribe to my YouTube channel!! I’m working hard on the next remix, and if you like Undertale I think you’re gonna enjoy this one.
  7. I submitted this a year or two ago, it (eventually) came back with some feedback, some of which was good (helpful mixing tips), some of which was bad (no, I'm not going to re-write the entire song, mate). I submitted a second version based on the mixing advice, but it never showed up. SO I'm guessing whoever thought I should restructure the song based on their whim got pissy. Anyway, for what it's worth, here's the review: https://ocremix.org/community/topic/45559-no-jazz-jackrabbit-jdhd/ And here's the first version, replete with video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2Nd-0rkCdI Anyway, I'm probably not going to do any additional work on this, seeing as how 2 of the judges got up their own ass wanting to remove the only thing that made the song worth making in my view (the bridge and subsequent contrast to the chorus). A friend noted to me (I respect his advice) that the initial transition was too quick, and that's valid. But I didn't want to make something predictable or consistent. That's not what this is about.
  8. In my ten years as a member of OC Remix, I've only ever once submitted a song to the judges, and said submission was soundly (and rightfully) rejected. Since the time of my last submission (approximately eight years ago), I feel that my musicianship has improved markedly, both in terms of my ability to arrange a song, and my ability to play instruments. As such, I am submitting a remix that I feel confident will get accepted, and even if not, I am still satisfied by how much I've grown as a musician. Having said all that, my remix is of the ever popular (at least among us YouTube remixers) "Jazzy NYC" by Hideki Okugawa. The composition originated with 1997's Street Fighter III: New Generation, but the latest iteration appears in 2016's Street Fighter V. Five versions of the theme have appeared throughout the main Street Fighter series (Underground Edit, Street Edit, NY House Mix, '99, '16). My remix is based primarily on the Underground Edit. I incorporated the police sirens, and part of the violin melody, but dispensed of the James Brown/Lyn Collins sample. I opted for a guitar solo in place of the marimba solo found in the original song, which was a choice influenced by the Street Fighter V version of the theme. A number of disparate musical influences contributed to the sound of this remix, including; Kool and the Gang, Joe Daniels (Local H), Janet Weiss (Sleater Kinney), Victor Wooten, Cliff Burton (Metallica), and A Tribe Called Quest. Other useful information about this song BPM: 107 Style: Jazz Software: GarageBand, Audacity Instruments: Ibanez Talmon Guitar Midi Controller: Casio CTK 2300 Guitar Interface: iRig Street Fighter V - Jazzy NYC Remix ("Bronx Bomber") Source Material: Street Fighter III New Generation - Jazzy NYC (Underground Edit) Feedback is welcome, and appreciated. I hope that the judges enjoy my remix enough to add it to the OC Remix database.
  9. Hey all, Took and uptempo approach and made an epic dnb infused style mix of the iconic Roxas theme, "The Other Promise". I take some chances here while throwing in some inspirational elements from two other games (one also involving the number 13. Can you guess which?). ENJOY! ORIGINAL AUDIO:
  10. Sup guys! So this is one of my tracks from my album "Video game rapper". I remix the "Bar Stage" them from Streets of Rage and put some vocals on it! Lyrics are about drinking and fighting at the bar. Got a smooth touch!
  11. Whats up everyone! I created a video game vocal album called "Video Game Rapper", and this is one of the songs on the album! This song called "Princess Ruto" is a love song dedicated to Princess Ruto from Legend of Zelda. It is sung from Link's perspective. Its a smooth R&B track with a good bassline and has my vocals on it (yes it's autotuned, intentionally)! I submitted it to OCRemix, hopefully it's added! Princess Ruto: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1CU-OQpbDUbqw-i2TlfKYGX0oKQxs1e2q P.S. I'll post more vocal tracks from the album once I release it next week. I am hoping to submit all of them!
  12. Link (can be streamed or downloaded) For those not aware, Sinjoh Ruins itself is already a medley of several tracks from Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum for the DS. Both Sinjoh Ruins and its main source, Mt. Coronet, are unusually quick and complicated for Pokemon area music (only really rivaled by some of the important battle themes, i.e. Giratina's), while this remix looks to expand on segments that don't get as much presence as they could have (the second half of Mt. Coronet, Giratina's theme, etc.) and also adds in some new stuff (Arceus, Distortion World). There's also the Pokéathlon Finals theme in there as a liquid DnB-esque segment to pick up the pace and conversely provide some levity before the bombastic stuff at the end. Source tracks: Platinum Battle! Giratina Distortion World Mt. Coronet Spear Pillar HeartGold & SoulSilver: Arceus Pokéathlon Finals Sinjoh Ruins
  13. Hi everyone, I always enjoyed the music from this community, so I decided to give it a try (this is my first contribution / submission). I made a Rock Medley of six Final Fantasy 7 songs: Birth Of A God (focus of the track) J-E-N-O-V-A Hurry! Main Theme The Prelude Opening Theme This is the link to my track (I made a video, showing when I play which song), please forgive my mediocre video editing skills: The original songs can be easily found on youtube (I don't want to make this post too large embedding all six videos). The dominant song in my remix is Birth of a God. This is the original: I hope you like it. Feedback is appreciated, of course. The_Music_Channel
  14. Hello everyone! First time submitting here, I've been working on a trance remix of the water level music from Wario Land 1. The arrangement is nearly complete and I'd like some feedback on it before I start the mixing/mastering phase. EDIT: The track is finished now and the link updated
  15. Hi there! I'm Paul. I'm new to this website so I'm not 100% how it works but, I've seen some really awesome stuff though and I'm glad to be a part of this community! I've just started my own journey of creating metal versions of classic retro (and maybe some modern) video game music. I've started with a very well known theme that's probably been done to death, but I'd like to think I put my own spin on it. A Swedish melodic metal twist perhaps? Anyway... here it is! Hope you all like it! Peace!
  16. Hey everyone. I've known about this site for years but only just now decided to contribute something. It's a song from Kirby Air Ride. I blitzed the song in a few days but I didn't realize the review/acceptance process took so long and in hindsight I could have come here for critique and stuff but I guess it's too late now. Oh well, I'm generally happy with how it turned out anyway and got to learn and try out a few new techniques in the process. I also don't really know why I picked this song in particular aside from liking the bassline. There are much better songs from this game I could have chosen; the second movement in this song really stands out weirdly and I was getting annoyed trying to fit it in my composition. I did end up combining another song though, which I thought mixed in well. Anyway, here it is, enjoy! (P.S. I was originally going to start with a remix of Aquatic Ambience until I realized that it's one of the most over-mixed songs on this site and people are getting sick of it. It's such a good song though!)
  17. Hi! Here's my remix of the Ur-Quan Kzer-Za theme. For some time I scoured the net to see if there existed a metal remix of the track, because I had this vision of one and I wanted to find out if anyone had done this before. So, here it is: https://soundcloud.com/sallejh/the-path-of-now-and-never-cover-of-ur-quan-kzer-za-theme-from-star-control-2 The original track is really short, so the arrangement is quite different from that. Also, I've never before even tried creating anything "metal", so this is my try ever on electrometal . An old friend joined me in this project with his guitar skills and in the process the track changed quite a bit, but now we consider it finished. Here's a link to the original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VNul2QETPE
  18. Here's a remix I am working on of the Kokiri Forest theme from Ocarina of Time. I just had an itching for some latin music. I know the arrangement is quite liberal, but I think it flows well enough. Enjoy the mix! ReMix Edit #1: "Hey Saria, There's a Fiesta Down in Kokiri Forest" ReMix Edit #2: "Hey Saria, There's a Fiesta Down in Kokiri Forest 2.0" Remix Edit #3 (MOST RECENT): "Hey Saria, There's a Fiesta Down in Kokiri Forest" Final Bounce???: "Hey Saria, There's a Fiesta Down in Kokiri Forest (Final)" Source Tune: Pleased to say I'm working with @Bowlerhat for some live flute on this track! Gonna be great.
  19. Hey, all, nice to meet you! First submission on OC Remix, sweetness! We just released a Mighty No. 9 remix on SoundCloud that we wanted to share with you all. I know some of you may feel some sort of way about that particular name, but as with most Mega Man-inspired things, the music was definitely worth remixing! This is based on the main theme song of the game, composed by Manami Matsumae. Hope you dig it! - ichordic
  20. Hi guys i made this remix a while ago , have a listen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DPm56ZsA8s
  21. I started working on this remix a few months ago, been on ice since then until this weekend. Damn it was a long time ago I could finish a song in just 2 days. So what do you think? Would it be something for the OCR community? Everyone loves the Zelda melodies, right? <3 //Glejs
  22. Since the album I did this track for is out, I can finally share this remix I did of Xenogears' Wings. Inspired by synthwave group The Midnight? Naah, not at all Had a lot of fun making this. With all the collaborations, arrangement shuffling and things being quite different from the source but also still recognisable, I’d say this was an interesting experiment. I think it turned out well and can be enjoyed as a standalone piece even if you’re not aware it has its roots in VGM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WJr_eVmvfQ
  23. Tarrey Town was my favorite track in Breath of the Wild; I loved how it mixed in themes from other places in the game as you built it up. I tried to remake the start variant and full variant in the beginning, keeping close to the original, and then expand on it with themes from other places in the Zelda series as well. So imagine Tarrey Town in the Zelda Universe now, I guess. Extra themes in order of appearance: OoT Kokiri Forest OoT Lon Lon Ranch OoT Castle Market OoT Kakariko Village OoT Gerudo (The plucked instrument) OoT Goron City WW Dragon Roost WW Outset Island MM Astral Observatory MM Clocktown SS Skyloft Zelda Theme These were just some of my favorite places in the Zelda series and I thought that I could mix them in well enough. Please let me know what you think! Maybe which ones mixed in well, not so well, or other themes that might fit in their too! I plan on submitting this to OCRemix, if a judge could help me out and let me know if they would accept it. Thanks! Original:
  24. Hi! Me and some friends from Uni have this neat thing where each of us make VGM remixes every november. I chose a Chrono trigger mix because I'm playing through the game for the first time right now and it's amazing! I've have listened to the soundtrack for the longest time but never got around to playing it until now. I am now looking to see if the song is worthy of being submitted to this site. The song is an attempt att making rock/metal but without guitars and instead having a heavily distorted organ fill in its place. I would appreciate all the feedback. Here is the Remix: Newest updated version here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=12-qkJ2cy7DSHaMHFj3_MBoxhcfR90_eH Here is the Source:
