  1. I love the idea of staging music and receiving audience feedback! While I already submitted for OCRemix review (newbie to the forum), it is very constructive to receive your feedback! Edit: Maybe I can rework it? Send your impressions and feedback please! Release Here's my arrangement: Yuji Ohno's (Koei) Operation Europe Attack Theme. I remember always wanting to start an attack (even a futile one) just to hear this song. Whenever the computer attacked first, I was bummed - sometimes I reloaded a save to change some timings hahaha! While the game hasn't aged well, the battle theme still packs a punch. For reference, here's the original SNES version: https://youtu.be/LCeG7L4fHPA?t=304 Feedback I welcome your likes and suggestions! I stayed mostly true to the song; added some harmonic parts and rhythm to progress the flow. Enjoy and thanks for listening! Cheers, CalloftheJay
  2. https://youtu.be/GIbvLsBuWTU This remix is quite straight forward my ordinary style, many enhancements from the original song and a couple of new sections I composed. I was so hungry for a metallic hit (also used in my remix of "The Man With The Machine Gun", and another unreleased remix). I put it in a half tempo section at 1:09 to get that headbanger vibe and a stronger impact to the listener, I hope you like it of course! My new composed section at 0:35 and 1:24 has the intention of providing a stream of hope during hard times or hard battles. It is based on the standard drum and bass beat of this theme with a nice chord progression over it.
  3. Here is my remix for Rundas so far! I just need to add some guitar and some other things. This may change quite a bit. So far I have almost everything finished! The voice may not stay as it is. I may use a vocoder. Let me know what you Metroid Prime lovers think about it so far. August 3 Update Added guitars! August 4 Update Added Rundas' Voice! August 5 Update New Guitar parts
  4. Hello, everyone ! Lately, I listened to the "Perfect Selection: Snatcher Battle" album and discovered this sweet Vocal Cover of the "Peaceful Avenue" track: I really enjoy this version but, since I don't speak japanese at all, I can(t get a single clue of what the song is about. I was wondering is someone here has the skills and five minutes of spare time left to translate the lyrics for me. It's one of these tracks I might want to remix at some point and it could be nice to produce an english version of it. Here's an image taken from the album that might help whoever is interested in this quest: Thanks in advance Cheers !
  5. Hey everybody! I've just completed a new orchestral arrangement. It's a Battle Medley from a number of Legend of Zelda games. It contains music from Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time. The piece is a collection of music from Boss Battles, including a climax to the big Ganondorf fight, with some other incidental music thrown in to provide transitions. It was made with Sibelius 7 and NotePerformer. Please enjoy!
  6. Hi, for a long time I wanted to write something like this: a flamboyant "final fight" track with broad, heroic themes swirling above driving ostinati. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=674265&songID=13676086 Originally this piece belongs to the score I wrote for a student film project realised many many years ago. The music was produced via a MIDI-based digital sequencer and of course orchestral sample libraries. Unfortunately, the London Symphony Orchestra was just too busy at the moment for a recording session. While the last bars in asymmetrical 7/8 meter surely feel a bit overloaded (with syncopated choir fills and such), I am quite happy with the overall arrangement and the final mix. But maybe I am a little bit biased since I listened to it too often and it's just chaos to your ears... If you have some hints on how to improve the mix, sound, orchestration etc. please feel free to let me know. Best regards, Dustin
  7. Even though I haven't made them in a while, RPG battle themes are my absolute favorite. This one was inspired by the works of Yuzo Koshiro in Etrian Odyssey. https://soundcloud.com/schematist/calm-divide-rpgjrpg-battle-theme
  8. Hey! So this is the first battle song that i ever composed, and it has sort of a funny story behind it. It's on the video's description, but for those who doesn't feel like going for it, here it is: Any feedback is highly appreciated!
  9. A remix I really REALLY wanted to do, and probably turned out to be my best remix yet. No midi was used just so midi haters know.
  10. Hello, I'm Ronald Poe and I write electronic music and remix. I use FL Studio and Audacity for my music and Musescore for the writing/editing of midi. I mix/produce the music myself and it seems to hinder the music itself. Do you have any tips on mixing/production? Here's a couple examples of my work. My character theme for Axel (KH) My remix of "King Ghidorah" (Godzilla NES) from that contest. Please give both your opinion and some mixing advice. Thanks
  11. Hi everyone, Friends and I just uploaded our first cover of our new project on YouTube. It is a metal cover of the theme Force Your Way from Final Fantasy VIII in symphonic and progressive style. We would love to have your thoughts about it, since this forum loves OST as we do ! Many thanks to you ! Greetings from France
  12. First off, I'll preface by saying that while personally I don't think it's QUITE the best track in the game (I reserve that spot for "Revelation Mountain"), I still think this is such a great track. I think someone should do a symphonic rock or jazz combo ReMix with some rad solos---maybe guitar, maybe violin, maybe both. Any badass guitarists or jazz groups out there willing to take on the challenge? Feel free to mix in "Dialga's Fight to the Finish!" if you want; that can fit as well, as this sounds really similar. BONUS: If you want me to collab, I'd be glad to, but I'm more willing to collab with someone else on this than to start this particular ReMix first.
  13. Alright, so it's been a long time since I've been here on OC Remix but I thought now would be a good time to come back with some of my latest remixes to see what others think. Starting off this time is a orchestra medley of the battle themes from Final Fantasy 1-9 so I hope to hear your feedback and thoughts on this medley that I put a lot of work into. Please let me know any thoughts you guys have! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0hHvSRXESU
  14. Inspired by Yuzo Koshiro and Nobuo Uematsu, I crafted this random battle concept for an upcoming Adventure/RPG game Oraia Rift. Please let me know what you think! https://soundcloud.com/schematist/battle-4-concept
