  1. Hi! I've been a fan of OCRemix for a huge amount of years and I finally decided to start trying to make some music of my own. I made some music in my early teens but life shoved me in other directions and I've just recently found the joy of it again. I've always loved the title music for Grand Prix Circut from 1988 and I remember struggling with making a remix of it when I were younger. I found myself struggling with it again for the exact same reason: It's just a short loop with four variations that gets helluva boring really fast. I wanted to do a chiptune/metal hybrid and this is what I've come up with so far. Would love some feedback on all aspects of it really, I'm really new to this and have a lot to learn about everything. My goal is to submit this to OC-Remix Edit: Latest Version Cheers! /Gabriel
  2. Hey everyone! I'm happy to share that as of today, my name is officially attached as "composer," not "remixer," to a 100% original game soundtrack. It's an indie game, but still, I had a blast stepping into RPG mode and crafting the various map themes, battle music, castle, shop, and church tunes... lots of good stuff. I'd like to invite you to give it a listen, and let me know what you think! (Also check out the game, it's out on Steam and actually pretty challenging.) https://mazedude.bandcamp.com/album/mazequest-2-original-soundtrack For your listening pleasure, the album also includes several bonus tracks that didn't actually make it to the game, and, a whole bunch of chiptune concept pieces. I'm not a keyboard player, so drafting in 8-bit seemed like a time-friendly way to present thematic ideas without getting hung up on samples and such. Have fun comparing the chiptunes to the final orchestrated pieces; some are very close, and some changed a bit during the orchestration. Enjoy!
  3. So I thought I'd take a break from arranging game tunes for banjo, and try it the other way round: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1nBOSBtMC38ljqacKUntw_lEZBGFBOzRn
  4. I have choped and sampled chiptune from different famicom games and put it into hip-hop beat. I never tried to chop music for sampling (like in classic hip-hop) before, so I decided to try it and I liked it goddamn. #Gettodachoppah! Adorable guy on da video it's a streamer that obsessed widdah famicom games))
  5. Hi friends! I just released my 5th album Search for a Lost Reality!! Search for a Lost Reality is a concept album that encompasses the search and discovery of our own true identity. In this album I fused chiptune with modern electronic, orchestral and rock music with a classic video-game flare. Listen here: http://smarturl.it/searchforlostreality Lemme know what you guys think!
  6. Stream at https://omniboss.bandcamp.com I recently completed this short album, a vague-concept album like a video game soundtrack. Any feedback would be appreciated and hope you enjoy!
  7. Sup everybody. So I wanted to try out some new sounds and make something more chill than I normally have. I pictured a star lit sky when I made this. Maybe it could be used for a platformer/side scroller with a night stage or in outer space. Arigato simply means thank you in Japanese as I found inspiration from other artists to make this. Peace.
  8. Really rough track I made that I wanted to get out the idea for.
  9. first time I've ever used soundfonts. was going for a classic early Mega Man style
  10. I've been working on a new EP with lots of chiptune elements that will be releasing in December. I thought I'd share a little sample of it. The EP will be a mix of chiptune elements, acoustic piano pieces, ambient electronic music and analog synths. Hope you guys like it! I'll be updating pretty regularly on my channel as we head to release. Hope you all are having a great day!
  11. Did a very short soundtrack to an arcade game I'm currently working on with my programmer. I used an NES soundfont. Granted these are only demos even by 8 bit standards. Anyone with skill in 8 bit chiptunes please give me tips on making these sound a bit more less muddy. or any other tips on making these sound better, Let me know what you think!
  12. The youtube version is a screen capture of my FL Studio project. The soundcloud link below is the high (much higher quality) quality final mix. I never go for any specific sound I kind of just let the workflow be it's own being in a way. Sometimes I get sort of a retro modern sound, if that makes sense.
  13. Hello! I forgot to post here, so here i go. Made a short chiptune / drum & bass track called Stop. my first original dnb track in years, don't know what else to say. What do you think? cheers
  14. Hi all. I arranged the Heat Man theme from the NES classic Mega Man 2 for 3 classical guitars. Enjoy. By the way, I'm new on OCR and didn't find a topic specifically for instrumental covers. If one exists please let me know and I will re-post. EM
