  1. I previously made a remix of this exact melody a while ago, but for some reason at 4am I just had this idea pop into my head. Any constructive criticism would be well appreciated. (I know the mp3 says "final" but that was just the version that I put up on soundcloud).
  2. I know pronouncements for album releases here aren't as hot as they used to be, but I submit this work for your consideration and enjoyment anyway: I finally got to do a commissioned work for a visual novel and I contributed 12 tracks to the third game in a visual novel series called Without Within by InvertMouse Games. Not only is this my highest quality release to date, but it's also one of my most consistent and less electronic than before. I had to use more loop and phrase libraries to make that work since everything was still done in the computer and I can't play guitar, but the quality of the output speaks for itself. It fulfills my 15-year goal/dream to make music that puts my Chrono Cross inspiration full to the front AND I finally got to actually perform (with a piano) on a commercial music release instead of just sequence it (and it's not even any of the tracks that has a piano on it!) I don't get to sell this soundtrack as part of my contract deal with the commissioner, but for anyone who is interested in it, I'll post up a link here when that becomes available. Until then, please enjoy this work. I really got to break a lot of new ground here and I hope you're as pleased with it as I am! Composition, arrangement, mixing and further production: Meteo Xavier Mastering: Brandon Strader Album Artwork: Meteo Xavier using public domain images. Game available through InvertMouse Games.
  3. Hello fellow ReMixers and OCR Community! I am pleased to announce the release of my third album Validation Paradigm. Clocking in at just over an hour (16 tracks) my third album encompasses themes of self-awareness and self-improvement while musically it is inspired by 70s and 80s synthpop/rock, VGM and EDM. Listen/Buy Link: http://smarturl.it/validationparadigm Summary of the album's message: Validation should come from doing things that make the world a better place and which would in turn make you feel good about yourself and thus validated. We must always seek validation from ourselves first and then from others. This is the core principle of my third album Validation Paradigm. Because every track is devoid of lyrics each track title represents an action or a concept of Validation Paradigm’s core principle. After validating ourselves the validation from others must come through positive actions such as giving, supporting, understanding and appreciating. Let’s all accept and support each other’s unique individual identities. Validation is not about agreeing but about understanding. That’s all someone needs to be validated. Enjoy and Happy Holidays Everyone!
  4. Check out my remix of Rip & Tear from DOOM (2016). If Doom Slayer was killing demons in a rave, this is the music that would play. 160 BPM club mix which blends thrash metal into a high octane club remix. Support from the original composer Mick Gordon "Mad remix" and ETC!ETC! (Mad Decent, Dim Mak). (not submitting this, just sharing it with the community) Download: https://mercuriusfm.bandcamp.com/track/rip-tear-doom-mercurius-fm-remix Stream and VHS music video:

  8. Haven't been here in a while. But here's what I've been working on on and off while in grad school! On one of my other mixposts (Dungeonmans), djpretzel had remarked that Shantae needed some love. I mean... the only mix on the site right now is by the composer himself. That's cool and all, but he needs some company. I checked out the soundtrack to Pirate's Curse, and came across "Scuttle Town"; immediately, I got a mideast glitch hop vibe from it that would be ridiculously fun to build off of, at least for the main groove. Peeking around a bit further, "We Love Burning Town" was more than enough material to work with, bursting with a playful vibe that I couldn't resist (which for some reason is associated with burning a town... playfully?). I started this in January of 2016 (before I started grad school), stitching together Indian Ragas samples from Crypto Cipher to see what would happen. Slowly but surely, a glitch hop backbone came together, held up firmly by Serum and Zebra2, and I managed to finish through the breakdown section by the end of summer, featuring ISW's Bravura and Turkish Oud. I was kinda stuck on what to do next, so I put it to the side while I prepped to go to WSU. The first semester passed by, in which time I was TAing general chemistry, and toughing my way through quantum chemistry and thermodynamics (A- in both, oh yeah!). When I got to winter break, I immediately got the idea for a buildup back to the main drop, and finished the first three minutes so far, but I had to set it aside again for my second semester. I already knew by now that I was going to finish the track eventually... and here I am, not willing to put it off any longer, finishing it up in May of 2017 after one year of grad school! Never has finishing a ReMix been so hard!
  9. Hello again, OCR! Here's a new* remix from Legend of Mana that I just finished. * It started out as a loop back in 2008, made it a full length thing in 2015, and finished working on it now after putting it aside for... a year or so. What do you think? Cheers, Jonas

  14. Hello again! This time I'm posting a track that I've worked on for a few years on and off, but was never really happy with the mix until very recently (thanks new monitors and headphones!). It's a chiptunesque idm/edm dance track (as per my usual style) made entirely in Schism Tracker. The title is a bit lengthy, I know XD Probably my longest title to date. Anyhoo, here it is! Enjoy!
  15. Hey everyone. So, this is my first remix... Ever. I've spent the past couple of weeks experimenting in FL Studio, and what began as a tutorial exercise quickly morphed into a Boomer Kuwanger remix without any real intention on my part. I feel comfortable posting this here because I feel it's in a better state (comparatively) than where the project was a week ago. I'm wanting some general feedback to see where I can improve. Obviously with this being my first big project there is a lot of noob-ish mistakes, some of which I probably don't even realize. The main things bugging me right now are the clap being "cheap" sounding, the lead possibly being overused, and the song in general not being "remix-y" enough. I'm still trying to fine tune the EQ, but it's a difficult task... Let me know what you all think. I'm open for any advice or critique. Just be gentle with the latter, please. lol Edit: Upped the volume of the intro and changed some of the EQ around to bring out the bass a little more. Evaluation Version: (09/29)
  16. https://kingtiger.bandcamp.com/album/foul My first original rap song! It's a drumstep-esque EDM with a slick flow on top. It's $.50 (make sure you use the coupon/promo code "foulmsrp" in checkout or else it'll charge you $1.00). Please give it a listen and maybe even buy it! Here's a SoundCloud player:
  17. Today is my girlfriend's birthday so I wanted to surprise her with a remix from Kirby, which is one of her favorite franchises. I decided to remix Rock Star which is a mutual favorite of ours and incorporate some genre flavors she's fond of, however it comes with one or two surprises to go along with it - I had a lot of fun working on this one; particularly the occasional dubstep elements. Even if it isn't my most preferred genre it's exciting to chop things up. I hope you guys enjoy it!

  23. Hi All, I'm a music artist and DJ based in Phoenix, Az. I run a weekly nightlife event there called "Gamer's Paradise Party" at the cities most popular barcade, Cobra Arcade Bar. So far, It's been going really well. I play a slew of video game EDM remixes mixed with underground EDM tracks. The vibes are great. I'm pretty sure it's one of the very few parties like this that exist in the world. The owner is really passionate about video games, and maintains 40 machines in the arcade at any given time, which he rotates from his collection of hundreds. We are looking to release a free compilation that celebrates video game music and EDM. We are looking for remixers like you! So far, we have a few remixes collected from friends and myself. But we need more. This is what we have: Metal Gear Solid - main theme (techno) Space Harrier - main theme (bmore) Sonic 3 - Ice Cap Zone (disco synth) There are a few more pending, but unfinished. What games? We're shooting for retro games, so anything before PS2 would be great. Preferred genres? Trap, House, Electro House, Electro, Jersey Club, Juke We will handle mastering, so you don't have to worry about that. Release? For free via Bandcamp and Youtube. Compensation? Nothing monetary, but a ton of social media and online marketing. Give aways at the club, etc. People can leave a tip via bandcamp, but that will go towards covering my advertising expenses. Time frame? Release in Late August/Early September Let me know if you're interested by sending a PM. Thanks!
