  1. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cK1xmW2rumTvvCRD0uPjhBikSf6eJNdY/view?usp=drivesdk Hello all. First post, but multiple decades of lurking under my belt. This is a (mostly) done remix of Birth of a God from FF7. I'm still balancing out the mix a bit. I come from a mostly Industrial, EBM and Darkwave background, so I'm sure much of that has leaked into the general influences. Although, I ironically started listening to enough Hardbass where the irony wore off and I found myself enjoying the Punk simplicity of it. There are many nods to the original, but it veers off in the pacing and structure in areas. I did change some of the melodic elements by curtailing some of the dissonant chords. It's fairly busy. The project file has somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 channels. On a technical side, the synths used are: Korg Minilogue XD Neutron Osirus (Access Virus Emulator) And some go-to VSTi instruments - VITAL, Serum. I'm curious what you think!
  2. A synthwave rendition of Hurry! by Nobuo Uematsu, featured in the game Final Fantasy VII. This is my remix. This is the original song for reference. My arrangement is done on synthesizer. I kept the same BPM to give the same overall timing but manipulated the beat into an electronic/synthwave style. I also introduced many new instruments, micro-rhythms, and timbres.
  3. Hey all, So a couple of months ago, the Pixel Mixers started their own Final Fantasy VII homage project. Thanks to COVID and life however, things fell far behind than expected. However, happy to say that we finally were able to release the project yesterday! This track is my contribution to that project. While I don't think the track would clear an OCR review based on how it's structured, I thought that you might all still find it enjoyable. So... ENJOY! You can find the full download to the project in the video description.
  4. I wanted to do a ska version of the mako reactor from ff7. I have the a midi version finished, but now I am working on adding instruments into the slots. Any and all suggestions and critiques are welcome.
  5. I'm steadily working on a remix of the Battle Theme ("Those Who Fight") from Final Fantasy 7. It's my ambition to create a modern version of this theme - but without leaving those elements which make this track so interesting and memorable. So, I decided to keep those orchestral elements from the original theme of the game Final Fantasy 7 and combine it with the punchier and more powerful electronic elements of this theme in the amazing spin-off Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 and add some driving rock elements. 6. Hey guys, I figured out how to play Aerith's theme from FF7 and decided to make my own rendition of it. You might notice a few Zelda theme cameos in the piece, they are intentional. Preset used is ShrineCX2. Enjoy! Aerith's Theme.mp3
  7. Good Morning OCRemix! I have been holding onto this song for a while and I figured it would be the perfect time to share it! I love this beat, it just reminds me of a story about Cloud in which, I can imagine it must be rough. I wrote this song to resemble what cloud might go through on his adventures though from the original Final Fantasy 7, a classic! it's simply a story I came up with when I heard this amazing tune. it makes me feel amazing to hear all these songs everybody has come up with! This is probably my 6th or 7th run on this song. I hope you enjoy! https://www.dropbox.com/s/vanpri5iv27vx6t/as if i was cloud.wav?dl=0 originally made from Mattias Häggström Gerdt, Arranging the music of 2 songs... 8. If I wrote the soundtrack of a traditional JRPG, the airship theme might sound like this. What if there's no airship? Of course there's an airship.
  9. Hey all, I just finished my third cover from the Final Fantasy series - "Fighting" I've also covered: "Still More Fighting" from FF7 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odkxjXxugRY "Terra" from FF6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qgc3Fm-EjY
  10. Hello again Here is another WIP for a remix I'm working on. I'm trying to create a medley comprised of tracks that feature a certain pattern of notes and have similar chords. I had the following in mind: 1. Aerith's Theme (FF7) 2. Halo theme - bonus ending (see video at end of post) 3. Mermaid theme from Donkey Kong 64 4. A track from Xenoblade titled "Thoughts to a friend" The status of this track is that most of the FF7 part is done. There is a notable drop of instruments near 1:10, which is where I last quit. The Halo part is probably 50% done. I need to work on the ending/transition to the next part, which is tricky because I have to go from 3/4 time to 4/4 time. Part of the mermaid theme is already in there at the end, but I haven't done any original work on that yet. It just sits there as a placeholder. I could use some feedback on the transition parts and the overall composition. I've used MuseScore 2 with some fancy soundfonts, but it will probably need to move to FL Studio eventually for more control over channels and humanization. I'm also taking suggestions for a more fitting title Enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/user-227517766/the-day-gamers-lost-their-girlfriend-wip Sources: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIqKWLkm2-g The bonus part starts at 3:20
  11. A quick little mix I thought I'd share : ) SLUMDON - HEARTHIS YOUTUBE
  12. (Please be Aware I'm French, so my english is known to be sometime quite ... Frenchy. Sorry for that.) Edit : • 07/08 @22:57 GMT+2 : Fixed Version as Ready for review ! More info on Materials, and writing. Also Final Name ! • 07/04 @1:35 GMT+2 : Wip Update With bridge to part2 • 07/04 @08:23 GMT+2 : Wip update With Completed part2 with more source material (Sonic's Genesis robotknik(s), Final-Fantasy VI hear-alike, "Batman" hear-alike, and some other micro-cameos) Hello World ! I'm coming back from the dead since my OCR01946 of ... 2009 (with another account since I've lost the other one's email Long time ago). Anyway here it is, an "Orchstral" Rework / Whole new sight on the Infamous "2Players VS" of Dr Robotnik's Mean beans Machine. I think I've already heard the original tune going endlessly in mind-breaking loops for Something like 18h straight when I was younger. Two decades after that, I'm up with a W.I.P. of an expiation of sort. It's meant to be a First track of an upcoming series called "Eggman Plays The Orchestra" so it's voluntarily meant to be "huge" as a "catchy" announcement to what's coming next. As usual with me it's written with a lot of ostinato's and Staccato's, with distinguishable part. The main part's are written in 4/4 for the first one (Dr Robotnik Mean bean machine), and alternating 9/8 and 12/8 for the Second part (Mainly Eggman theme from Sonic & Knuckle as a base). The song name "La méchante Machine à Haricot" is a straight French translation of the "The Mean Bean Machine" locution, which fits quite well for Eggman's behavior and being, I thought. I Hope it sounds at least pleasant for your ear or your mind (if you have the same Sega's puyo-puyo trauma as I have). Hoping for feedback, hopefully the unpleasant one's are the most important to go through so... Don't hesitate to be rough ! Best Regards, C. The Song : • mp3 : http://www.brigato.fr/files/CBLMMAH.mp3 • Soundcloud : The Original Materials : More materials from : Various Sonic/S&K cameos, Final Fantasy 6&7 hear-alike (Intro from FFVI, Jenova from FFVII, Kefka From FFV6I, Decisive Battle from FFVI...)
  13. One of the best track from ff7, IMO. There wasn’t arrangement of it in the Piano Collection; so I’ve tried to make mine . This piece group several influences: sometimes calm with crystalline sounds in high, other times with more accentuated rhythm. In the 2nd part, I’ve wanted to give some religious sonorities by adding a new harmony. The mix finish by a little part from the ff9’s “Ceremony for the Gods”, track wich good marry with the first theme, I think. The arrangement is ready, but I've still some problems of record. I’ll try to correct it later by recording in better condition. I hope you’ll enjoy this arrangement! 14. This is a little remix of one of my favourite games from the Final Fantasy 7 series I'm working at since a few months. "Wings Of Freedom" is my interpretation of the OST "The Price Of Freedom". I wanted to create a remix which is a bit more feeling, but also goes into a stronger rock ballad later on - a good track for combining some genres without getting lost of the soul und background of the track. It begins with a little live recorded piano solo (played this just by ear - it contains also a nice melody that only appears about one time in the whole game), followed by a calm viola part which goes over into a part with a harp, guitars, bass and drums and which leads into a stronger, soulful rock ballad with several electric guitars towards the end. The rest of informations that might be interesting for listeners and remixers is in the description of the Youtube upload. It's also the first remix I've created a video (with ingame scenes) for. Hope you and especially the fans of Crisis Core - Final Fantasy 7 enjoy it. 15. Hey all, First time posting here. I wanted to share a remix I made of Anxious Hearts off the Final Fantasy VII OST. I've been listening to these remixes for years and finally am able to help contribute! You can check it out here: Also made a 'music video' on YouTube which you can find here:
  16. I was thinking about the possibility of Bizarro Sephiroth (FF7) being in Kingdom Hearts and that made me wonder why there isn't a remix of both "One Winged Angel" and "Birth Of A God" (perhaps in counterpoint or something). I think it's a wonderful idea but nobody's done it yet. These are both great and iconic themes for an iconic villain. Maybe I should do it myself but how would I combine the two? However I feel a more skilled remixer may be necessary. Here's the KH2 version of "One Winged Angel". Here's the original FF7 version of "Birth of a God".
