  1. These recordings came from the premiere of my VGM-based jazz group, The Hard Modes, on 9/30 (same as my last post). This particular arrangement was inspired not only by Uematsu's original cut, but also by the ridiculously awesome cut from the piano collections album. Enjoy! If you'd like to read more about the project as a whole you can also check out my website. Thanks for listening!
  2. I did a solo electric piano cover of John Coltrane's "Central Park West." Cover: Here's the original:
  3. Here is a remix I am spending time on, so far the sequence is coming together but I would like to open this up as a collaboration. This remix is the song shortly after the prologue in the Sega CD classic "Snatcher". I would record my bass for this but I am having some gain or pickup issues that I'm hoping to get fixed soon. I can make a shared folder with tracks set for each instrument. I'll post my latest mix and the original tracks below to give an example. Thanks for listening and your criticism is welcome! [BPM] Original:120 REMIX:125 Remix In Progress: Original
  4. I did a cover of the jazz song Autumn Leaves originally written by Joseph Kosma and lyricists Johnny Mercer and Jacques Prevert in 1945 and released in 1946. Cover: Again not sure that I could really find the original but here's some renditions by Chet Baker, Paul Desmond, and another by Nat King Cole
  5. I did a solo electric piano cover of the jazz song "Autumn in New York" originally written by Vernon Duke in 1934. Cover: I couldn't find an original recording (probably because it was in 1934) but here's a couple of renditions by Sinatra and Billie Holiday.
  6. Hallo! This is a Fairy's Fountain mix that I've been working on. I like it so far, but I'm not sure what to do with it next. Any suggestions are appreciated. I am considering having someone do the sax solo live and extending it a bit before the end. https://soundcloud.com/ericfausto/hey-hey-hey Thanks in advance for feedback!
  7. A fun little, video game-esque Latin, Jazz, African, and whatever else I was feeling at the time type track. Enjoy!
  8. Hi all. Super new. First post ever on OCR Also sorry for SUPER JANK recording style. Finale screwed up real bad when I tried to import soundfont so all my VST instruments sound like a single instrument. This also happens when I try to import it, so I had to phone record the inferior MIDI sound. Anyways, the game is a versus puzzle game, sorta like Tetris attack or Gem Fighters or something. I'm writing the music for the game, which is super duper not close to being done, but I'm getting through character themes and eventually going to do a menu track as well. Lemme know your thoughts, and I suppose as I put them out, I'll upload other character tracks here too.
  9. So when I heard the Super Mario Odyssey theme "Jump In, Super Star!" I was like whaaat! Its Big Band Jazz! So knowing me I had to add some vocals to it. I decided to add my own adlibs but do it in the style of a quartet. The female voice is in the original song but all the male voice are mine. Enjoy!
  10. Hi everyone! I'm currently working on a remix of DDD from SM64. I actually played the melody from memory, so it might sound a bit different than the original. It's still unfinished (hence the abrupt ending lol). I didn't do much in terms of mixing, so i guess it will need some work in that regard too. 11. Here is the original song I'd like to hear this to be updated, since I think this is a genre of Jazz to be similar like this song There's been an official remix for the remake of the game but I think they absolutely butchered it ^ That's a not how I'd like it to be remixed I guess. A specific request is that please keep the vocals in and don't obscure it.
  12. I would like to request a remix of Felicia's Theme from Darkstalkers/Vampire Savior & the remix should be in the style of Duke Ellington-style jazz (jazz is the genre for this remix). Felicia the Catwoman is one of my favorite Capcom Fighting Characters (Others being Skullomania, Dhalsim, Amingo, Yun, Sodom, & Firebrand) and I want her theme song to be remixed by you guys at OC Remix. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_m-B1RxQDqY
  13. Hey guys. For today I wanted to share with you guys a cover I did of "Butter Building" from Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland. This series is so much fun, I had a blast working on this one. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy, please let me know what you think
  14. Hello! I hope you're doing well. I've recently started a new video game cover project called "The Geeky Guitarist", which focuses on jazz fusion vgm arrangements and I would love some feedback and opinions. Yesterday I released this cover of the famous Ground Theme: Ground Theme - The Geeky Guitarist My goal for this project in a few months is to release an album, but first im starting off by uploading weekly jazz fusion covers every saturday to establish an audience. I hope you enjoy! Please let me know what you think. Thanks!!
  15. Was looking for feedback on this arrangement I did of The Last Soul from Streets of Rage. Before this arrangement, I had never done jazz/hip-hop fusion before. It was a very interesting and awesome experience :). I want to do more with SoR with live band and such. Any suggestions for this? As always thank you for taking the time to listen!
  16. I haven't seen a remix of a Gen 5 Pokemon game yet, but I think this would be a great source to start with: Honestly I'd remix it myself, but I'm not nearly skilled enough to do the song justice. What I'd like to hear is kind of a slightly aggressive, grungy interpretation, keeping in line with the slower jazz tone of the original, but adding a kind of rock edge to it. Instrumentation wise, I really like the bass and guitar accompaniment in this song, and I would like a remix to focus on and enhance those parts. You could add saxophone or a lead guitar in some parts. Its really up to the artist's discretion. The source itself is rather short, so whoever wants to take up remixing it can take plenty of creative liberties, though I would like to keep it somewhat conservative with the melody, especially around 0:31. I think this part of the song has a lot of emotional weight, if that makes any sense. I'd really like a remix of Virbank City's theme to evoke an image of what I imagine that place to be like: Envision a dirty port town built up around old, factories and chemical plants. Rain drips lethargically from the soot colored sky, never seeming to stop, just as toxic smog never stops spewing from the factory smokestacks. Rust and graffiti cover nearly every wall in this rundown city, But despite the filthy environment, Virbank city is not without its mysterious urban charm. The people there are genuine and down to earth, from the local punks, to the grizzled factory workers, to the little kids at the city preschool. Life can be a struggle, but each day they get by with the help of their pokemon. Anyway, as long as there's plenty of passion put into the working of this remix, I certainly won't complain, and I sincerely thank anyone who wants to take up this project.
  17. So I am really stepping out of my orchestral/classical background with this game. The game is a challenging space racer title and the director of it really loves synthwave so I made sure the synthetic sound was in every track. However, I wanted to use acoustic sounding elements mixed in. My influences for this are Masashi Hamauzu and 65daysofstatic (No Man's Sky). These tracks are in their very VERY early stages so I plan to make changes. I hope those that listen really enjoy the music and maybe leave a comment to critique.
  18. What did you think? Post your opinion of this ReMix.
  19. I had a lot of fun arranging this. I joined my school's jazz band this year, and after playing a few retro tracks, I just sat down and made my own chord progression that sounded kind of like a 70's whole deal. And then I thought, "What if I put the Mario theme over this?" And I fell in love. I definitely went for the more funky weird vibe with this one. Let me know what you think! I think I finally fixed it, I made lots of edits to try and make this one better. It should be pretty near completion if not already. Most recent version:
  20. Hello friends! I recently wrote an arrangement of the Underwater theme from Super Mario Bros. and wrote the sheet music/TAB for my arrangement for educational purposes and wanted to share it here in case anyone was interested. Hope you enjoy!
