  1. I had the afternoon off this last Saturday and put together this little piece. Thought I'd share. I may work on this a little more since it could use some polish in the mix (I barely EQed this), but I figured I'd put out what I had. I'm particularly proud of the solo around 1:48! Let me know what you think! Enjoy!
  2. Alright guys, next cover of our upcoming four track demo, hope you like it (can you guess which video game music related band inspired us the most? ). We are proud to bring bring you back this classic gem from the 80ies in all its 8-bit fuzziness: Check out our Facebook page to stay updated: http://www.facebook.com/remembercitadelband/
  3. ReMix I did for the FF3 project. Featuring mah bois @Tuberz McGee (guitars) & @Furilas (bass), thanks again guys! Enjoy!
  4. Hey guys!! This is my latest cover: Cannon Ball from Mega Man Zero 3, where I get proggy and djent a little bit. Let me know what you think! I'm going to start releasing these regularly, so if you liked it, maybe you can subscribe to my channel...?
  5. What's the lower limit for something to post as a work in progress haha? This is literally just 30 seconds but I like it a lot and like anything else I've ever posted here, I have no idea what to actually do from here. It's cool though, I promise! Some of this was mostly from just wanting to try my awful choir and orchestra and blend it with the rest of a metal ensemble. My friend had me try to break down an anime opening and they practically had a guitar on one side and the orchestra on the other side which I kind of like. It might be kind of drastic for something like this but I'll take another shot at it later when it's not super late/early and I don't know what hearing is. https://clyp.it/njb1da1p
  6. Hi Everyone. Above is the link to my newest video game cover/remix thing. Obviously SEO optimized for Youtube. Been working on a lot of things mostly to improve my process - but it's been worth it since I feel like I can actually do stuff like this without having to reinvent my process over and over again... I'm always looking for feedback - Just because it's on YouTube doesn't mean that I can't tweak to submit later - and I wanted to post it here because I can't for the life of me think of a title. While not having a unique title is great for getting clicks on the youtubes - not so much for OCR consideration. The source link is below, my concern here is if it's interpretive enough. I definitely change things around a lot and have an original section in there. I just know I've gotten feedback before on being to conservative and I really take that to heart. https://www.dropbox.com/s/cwxm2gb8mkk051t/XvsZero-Reamp.mp3?dl=0
  7. Hello :)! I made a new cover about Strikers 1945 II game. The song name is Devil's Tower and it's very cool theme to play on guitar. I had lots of fun recording and arranging this song! Here is the cover: Here is the original:

  11. Hi all, I've been tweaking this song for a few weeks now, any feedback is appreciated, use the form below if you'd like. It's a slow heavy metal remix of Tasha's theme from Advance Wars. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3oA-7V8SI0mM3laczQyMzRqTVE/view?usp=sharing ARRANGEMENT / INTERPRETATION [ ] Too conservative - sticks too close to the source [ ] Too liberal - not enough connections to the source (too much original writing, source connections not identifiable enough) [ ] Too much direct sampling from original game audio [ ] Borrows heavily from non-source material (e.g. mainstream music, classical music, movie theme) PRODUCTION [ ] Too loud [ ] Too quiet [ ] Low-quality samples [ ] Unrealistic sequencing (particularly acoustic instrumentation, e.g. notes use the same velocities, mechanical timing) [ ] Generic/cliche sound choices [ ] Drums have no energy [ ] Overcompressed (pumping/no dynamics) [ ] Mixing is muddy (e.g. too many sounds in bass, middle or treble) PERFORMANCE (live recorded audio/MIDI parts) [ ] Timing not tight enough [ ] Wrong notes, general sloppiness [ ] Poorly recorded [ ] Bad intonation STRUCTURE [ ] Lacks coherence overall (doesn't "flow" enough) [ ] Not enough changes in sounds (e.g. static texture, not dynamic enough) [ ] Pace too plodding [ ] Too repetitive [ ] Too short [ ] Abrupt ending WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE TRACK [ ] Creative arrangement ideas [ ] Good production quality [ ] Good live performances [ ] Instrument choices [ ] Improvement from previous submission(s) [ ] Source tune choice(s) PERSONAL COMMENTS (positive feedback, specifics on checklist criticisms, any other thoughts) [write here]

  13. Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums but would love to share some of the work I've done with my group Becoming Elephants. It's got a musical vibe similar to some video game soundtracks like Castlevania/Mega Man/TMNT but also some modern sounds that draw influence from progressive rock, metal, and jazz fusion. It's all instrumental and our first album is a concept album. Hope you enjoy it! It's available in it's entirety for streaming on Soundcloud, YouTube, and Spotify. Thanks!
  14. This is a little ambitious project I've been working on lately for Halloween. The song is supposed to portray a man waking up in a mysterious forest after a night of binge drinking out of depression. As the man wanders through this forest looking for a way out, he has inner battles with himself about who he his as a person. At night this causes him to hallucinate his fears. It actually gets pretty crazy and ends with him running into a small alien scout group. The man eventually escapes them at the end. From this moment the main realizes what he needed in life: Inspiration. Enjoy and don't be afraid to leave feedback. Happy October!
  15. Remix of the Final Fantasy Prelude/Prologue themes https://www.dropbox.com/s/rykh8wk0o3dj4ww/Hydaelyn.mp3?dl=0 Prelude Prologue
  16. Hello. I have uploaded a short excerpt from an original song which I am attempting to mix... Link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/ftbejny6abxvvfh/S02T05 test.mp3 Here's a slightly different version: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/v96hp02tq9zaip0/S02T05 test - ver 2.mp3 I plan on eventually having the full song done by a professional, but currently I would like to know if my mix is of an acceptable quality for demonstration/preview purposes. Is there anything in particular that should be changed in terms of EQ or volume levels? Does it sound noticeably amateurish? All the instruments are programmed (including the guitars), since I'm a keyboard player and not a guitarist. I used Toontrack's Meshuggah EZdrummer demos as reference mixes. Edit: I compared it to some more tracks. I'm not really satisfied with the sound. I think the tone of the guitar and drums could still be improved a lot. Currently I am busy with another music-related project (not metal), but I may return to this later.
  17. Please review my version of Megalovania and tell me how I can improve! I've started recording on my own using Studio One and I'm basically teaching myself the editing, EQing, and mixing process. I'd love to hear some feedback/criticism from the pros since the WIP did not turn out the way I wanted it to. Original: Remix Updated v3:
