  1. Hey all. I'm currently working on a fangame based on Sonic Colors titled "Sonic Colors Demastered" and am collaborating with some other Sonic remixers to give it an original soundtrack of remixes based on the original game's songs. I'm working on a remix of the map theme for Tropical Resort and here's what I have so far: For reference, here's the original track: I actually got inspired by one the hub world tracks from Splatoon 3 for my remix and was trying to channel the same funky, synth focused energy that song has (it's this one here): I'll admit though that I'm not really satisfied with how my track is sounding so far. For one, it doesn't feel nearly as "funky" as the Splatoon 3 track that I got inspired by. I also feel like my song just sounds generally empty but I'm struggling to figure out ways to make it sound "fuller". I want the song to have a bright, bubbly vibe fitting of the first area in the game (like the original song it's based on does) but I don't think I'm nailing that vibe. I would appreciate some feedback.
  2. https://youtu.be/7D_VAET_Hnc During the making of any remix/cover I do, I mainly want the listeners to recognize the song and hopefully start to get some memories from the past. The same goes with this one. Hydrocity Zone is such a cool song (both act 1 and 2), I really love the funky grooves, which I also tried to keep through about a minute of my remix. So you will most likely recognize it a bit before I go loose on creativity and extension of the original melodies. There will be some solos and then some ambient part resulting in a half tempo ending. I just write the music as I hear it in my head and keep going with the flow. This is what came to mind this last week. The intro SFX is intended to sound like Sonic starting to roll to gain that ridiculous speed. I searched through the SFX list from Sonic 3 and believed this is the correct sound of that. Until today I was thinking a lot of putting some harmonizing melodies to the original ones, but I went for "less is more" this time and just kept one at a time lead synth to play all melodies.
  3. Simple EDMish/electronic? arrangement of Sky Sanctuary Zone I made! Trying to learn to mix better. Hope you enjoy!
  4. The first remix I ever did was an Ice Cap Zone Remix from a few years ago. It wasn’t very good, haha. Hopefully I’ve improved, so here is a new one I recently did. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GL6EeJ1QhYA Feedback welcome as always.
  5. Hoo-boy. Here we go. So this is my first post to OCR. I'm very, VERY new to remixing and I'd like some general feedback on this track I've been working on. I'd eventually like this to be something akin to what you'd hear on GameChops or Radio Cutman which is to say, a downtempo, lo-fi, hip-hoppy remix a la @FUSION42's Mabe Chillage (which I absolutely adore). I only have maybe half of the track hammered out so far (about up to the chorus), but I'd like some feedback on it before I go any further. Soundcloud link
  6. Hey all, first remix here. I've tried re-imagining Sonic's Casino Night Zone with a more "adult" lounge/VIP feel. I don't have a lot of experience working with this genre so any input is appreciated! Original Track Remix
  7. This remix came to me out of nowhere ! I kinda like it, but I don't know if I shouldn't try to transpose the piece in another style... Original: Remix: What do you guys think ?
  8. Updated Track: OLD POST BELOW Redoing this thread to focus only on one song, original post is in the quote below, I will come back to those tracks when I feel like it. OLD Choke Point Sweep (July/18/2018) F# 145BPM Sharing my latest. Here is a track I made with no goal in mind. Can't quite place it or relate it with anything but it has a lot of lead synth. I don't know where else to share my work for feedback so I am leaving it up to you. its only 3:10 so its short. I'm still fiddling with the equalizer to find the best tones and I think I may be having ear fatigue.
  9. A WIP of this remix, originally this was a jazz quartet version, but it was getting dated (and albeit not that good) Now, a jazz trio + hip hop elements, this melody is fantastic. Use of block chords in the beginning, followed by some close voiced chord movement by the second chorus. Going to work the arrangement into a solo section and then back to the head. 10. Sup dudes and dudettes! I've just submitted my most recent work, a metal cover/remix of Ruby Illusions in Sonic Mania. Would love to hear what you guys think! Mucho Love <3
  11. Greetings everyone, this is a short original I am working on experimenting with synths and a live recording of the bass and percussion (Except the drums). The mixing may be a little muddy or too piercing. I would like to get some feedback on what hurts to hear or what could be changed. To be honest I only play bass guitar and will generally work on tracks from other composers. That said, I am always open for collaborators to jump in and throw out the digital doos. Let me know you think and thank you for listening! Draft 1 [9.28.2017]
  12. I'd love to see a remix of: Press Garden Zone (either act but especially 2) Titanic Monarch Zone, especially act 1 Stardust Speedway Zone Act 1 Lava Reef Zone Act 1 Flying Battery Zone Act 2 A Sonic 1/2/Knuckles/4-style "credits montage" of all the zones
  13. Hey guys, i am kinda new to this site, but my name is KaiserBeats, an arranger and remixer from youtube and soundcloud, and I am hoping to get my word out into the popular arranger site, OcRemix!, Anyways, I wanted to share some of my arrangements here as way to see what you guys think about them and if they are OCRemix Potential, or perhaps you can give me some advice on these arrangements and finally a youtube link because this remix of mine has gotten to be quite the trend what do you guys think? Pretty neat eh?
  14. Everybody Super Sonic Racing! I am looking for singers who want to help with vocals on this track so i don't have to use a spot holder. The vocals are currently being covered by a simple Saw till i can get my hands on the vocals for this song as I can not do this song justice with my singing voice. The final will not have the Saw in it and obviously an actual ending.

  18. Hey OC Remix folks! We are DrKrake vs Jellyfish. We've been remixing video game music for quite a while (since 2009), but never really felt the itch to submit anything to OC Remix. Instead, we had a short-lived run on Newgrounds and mostly only uploaded our tracks on YouTube on random occasions. For this Christmas, we decided to release all of our stuff in a big free package and did so in the Super Musical Entertainment System! It's a massive collection of 33 tracks spanning various electronic music genres - trance, goa, house, hardstyle, and everything inbetween. You can grab it (for free, of course) on Bandcamp: drkrakevsjellyfish.bandcamp.com Most (but not quite all) tracks are VGM remixes. 19. Going back to my original roots and trying my hand at house music again. This time i thought should give some love to one of the must overlooked Sonic games of all time, Sonic CD! So who is the real hedgehog here?
  20. This is what I have so far: http://www.newgrounds.com/projects/audio/1034740/preview Constructive criticisms welcome. Edit for evaluation: Source (original VGM): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3jl0fTTvHk Current version of remix: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/712132 The only difference between this and planned submission is the addition of rapping. If it's submittable now, it's submittable as a full rap song.
