Spent a week on this thing, mostly trying to compress and reverberise without it sounding like complete garbage. I've been playing the guitar for over ten years and have written lots of music over the years but never really learnt how to record or use DAW's. I only found out what compression did about 5 months ago, which is embarrassing. So, still learning the vast nuances with actual music production and 'sonic space'. I was originally going to use the old six-string for the lead bits in this but couldn't get a recording that didn't make my ears bleed, I don't even have an audio interface and the only hardware I DO have is an Akai - LPK25. All the samples I've used are free ones and so are the VST's. Original:

Hey there! Thought this was as good a place to start as any now that I'm wanting to get active on the board. This is a remix I did around a week ago of a track I really enjoy from Sonic Heroes, the Emerald Challenge theme. It's mostly electronic and house influenced, and while I didn't intend it to completely branch out arrangement-wise, I think I got a few nice ideas in there. I considered throwing some guitar and bass work in there too, but alas, it didn't work out. Here's my mix. Gonna mark this as Finished since it was indeed finished by the time I posted it here, but I'm open to making improvements.

Here is another remix of mine from The Sonic the Hedgehog OVA. This time I worked with ClassicGamer76. A big thanks to him for doing some of the programming. All feedback and thoughts is very welcome! From the Land of Darkness: and if anyone is interested here's my remastered version of For the Land of the Sky: If anyone is curious on where this came from here's a link to the OVA:

Hey guys, been listening to lots of OSC artists of late and it's encouraged us to get back on the video game remixing after a few months away from it. Here's our newest remix, Spring Yard Zone. The original song was a sleazy verse and cheesy chorus to begin with, so we've tried to further stretch the sleaze and cheese! Ha! It's somewhere between RnB, FutureFunk and good old cheesy 80s electro Hope you enjoy it and happy remixing everyone OSC

Hey everybody! We just finished a video of our newest cover from Sonic and would love to hear your guys thoughts! This is an arrangement I made that was heavily influenced by this very strange album from MACINTOSH PLUS (here: https://beerontherug.bandcamp.com/album/floral-shoppe), as well as some timba music I was listening to at the time. Enjoy!

I'm looking for sega genesis sounds, specifically sonic 1, 2, 3, 3&k I have searched and searched and I'm kind of frustrated because I can't seem to get anything to work on garageband, because that's the only program I have at the moment. I have found the Ultimate Sega Genesis Soundfont but garageband wont read all the different instruments in the .sf2 file, I need to split the instruments to separate files, but after trying that, they would have no sound. I have searched forums and nothing really helpful either, maybe now that it's the end of 2015 something has changed...? I hope so! If you know something please share it!

Hey everyone! It's been a looong time since I've posted anything, or have even been on the OCRemix website haha but over the course of a few days, I've put together what I think is my best video game remix to date. It is a jazz version of Hydrocity Zone. My composition is a combination of acts 1 and 2. It was done completely by myself and made entirely in FL Studio 11. This is a WIP because I still need to adjust volumes and finish the improv section, which you will notice is the part with just the drums and bass. If anyone wants to be on this track, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. It would be neat to have another artist from the OCRemix community improv on this track. The cover art for this track got effed up so it looks really bad but I'll fix it. Take a listen and let me know what you guys think!! Also, how do I change my username on here? lol https://soundcloud.com/brian-williams-20/an-evening-at-the-hydrocity-cafewip

Ok, so here's my latest remix from Sonic the Hedgehog 4. It's a mix of Lost Labyrinth Zone, Acts 1, 2, and 3. I actually salvaged this from an old, sub-par, western style remix of mine and made it into more of an electronic dance piece. The majority of the song is Act 1, with small parts of Act 2 coming in at around 1:17 and 2:18. Act 3 is added in for the remainder of the song at 3:07. You can listen to it here: http://tindeck.com/listen/admxa And these are links to the source material: - Lost Labyrinth Zone Act 1: - Lost Labyrinth Zone Act 2: - Lost Labyrinth Zone Act 3: I'm pretty proud of this remix. As an amateur, I consider it my best work yet, but of course, I'd like to get some other people's opinions on the sound quality, things that could be improved, and on the composition as a whole. Please let me know what you think, and I'll see if I it's good enough to submit this to the judges.
