  1. 2021 marks the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, and like other Nintendo fans, I'm super excited to celebrate this beloved video game franchise with my own fan art, which in this case, is musical!! (^_^) Koji Kondo is arguably the most brilliant musician in the video game industry for having composed all of the iconic theme music for the Super Mario, and Legend of Zelda games. The various themes from those two franchises are among the most recognizable compositions in popular culture, and as such it was a pleasure to pay homage to Kondo's work and create an arrangement of yet another tune that is like a lullaby to my generation. I based my remix on the title screen music from the original Legend of Zelda game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), with an emphasis primarily on stringed instruments including the piano, harp, guitar, and violin. I did my best to differentiate my arrangement from the excellent orchestral rendition found on the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary soundtrack, and hope that for the listener, my efforts were successful. I had fun crafting this remix, so I hope you all have even more fun listening! Song Title: "The Hero of Hyrule" (The Legend of Zelda Theme Remix) Originally Composed By: Koji Kondo Arranged and Performed By: The Native Dialect BPM: 85 Style: Orchestral Hardware: Casio CTK-2300, iMac, Ibanzez Talman Software: GarageBand, Audacity "The Hero of Hyrule" Source: The Legend of Zelda Main Theme
  2. This is a remix of "Lost Woods" from The Legend of Zelda. It's definitely not uncharted territory, but I've had this style in mind for ages now and just had to get it out. It uses a lot of instruments from around the world, featuring primarily African instruments (Kora, Ngoni, Bolon, Fula Flute, Kalimba, Calabash) and some Andean instruments (Pan Flute, Charango, Ocarina). An Irish Low Whistle doubles the melody at parts. Original: "Lost Woods (Saria's Song)" by Koji Kondo, from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Made with Logic Pro X. Samples running through Native-Instruments Kontakt 6, Best Service ENGINE, and Orchestral Tool's SINE Player. The background photo is made by UndyingNephalim, featuring his re-design of Saria for his Zelda-inspired RTS game mod, Hyrule Conquest (based on the free game 0 AD). Download via Google Drive (OGG, WAV, MP4)
  3. Hello! This is my orchestral medley for The Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask. It contains various themes from the original soundtrack and some short original segments. I hope you enjoy it! Any kind of tips or criticism is welcome. Tools used: Fruity Loops East West Symphonic Orchestra I started writing some parts using a scoring application as well, but I switched pretty quickly for a faster workflow. I plan to update the score later. (Edit: minor update for some balance changes)
  4. That's my first remix/cover of a Game Soundtrack, so please, leave your Feedback and Tips to help me improve my soundtrack! Thx.
  5. Here's the link to the updated version for your convenience, I've removed some of the percussive instruments and just generally changed the whole mix to get rid of some of the imbalance. So I decided to make an acoustic version of this classic Zelda tune, I did my best with the filters to make it sound like an old latin song that you might have heard on the radio. I used something like 10 different percussive elements some panned, all with customized velocity and slight time delay, did my best to separate all the instruments as much as possible, but the filters and compressor does kinda make it hard to hear them all, it's a trade off I had to make to get old sounding effect. Nothing fancy on the guitar style, I used what I had in Nexus and used some effects to tweak the sound. I know that this style of remix has been done before it just fits this song so well. Hope you guys like it. There's a link in the video description if you want to download it.
  6. Hey guys, I recently completed an arrangement of Song of Storms for solo piano. Still polishing up the sheet music, but I will release it eventually. I love the original tune and I really think its one of the most memorable pieces in video game music history. With my arrangement, I wanted to expand the piece a little bit harmonically and add some delicate ornamentation in the melody. The end result felt more like a piece of Breath of the Wild, than something from Ocarina of Time. I'm considering doing versions of all the ocarina tunes from the game in the future. I think it would be fun to expand on them in a similar vein. I had a lot of fun working on this, and I hope you guys enjoy it too. Thanks for listening!

  8. The Minish Cap is my favorite game in the Zelda franchise, and I've putting off my favorite song from the game (Minish Village) for quite a while. I finally said, "You know what, I'm gonna do it." So I got around to starting this project. Don't think I'm quite done yet, but I've got the bulk of it done. Most recent version of mix:

  11. Came across this today! Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru I never knew about this game before, but apparently Nintendo and Intelligent Systems developed this game for Gameboy, and the engine would eventually be reused for Link's Awakening! The graphics are really similar. There's a fan translation patch out for it too. I think I'm gonna try this game out. Link's Awakening is my favorite Zelda game.
