  1. Any thoughts and/or opinions requested. This was generated via a midi file, and reason four. The sound effects were found on the web and folded into the beat ensemble. The synths are Thor from Reason 4. http://djliquidice.com/tmp/metroid.mp3
  2. I was not sure where to put this because I use a clip from Lego Island, but nothing else from games. This is my first song, so I would like any constructive criticism on what I could do to improve the song or my ability to make music. Thanks.
  3. This is a remix I have been working on for a little bit. I was just wanting a couple different opinions on it. I made this song without ever listening to the original just stumbled upon the melody in a midi one time. thanks
  4. NEWER DRAFT (v 3): EARLY WORKING DRAFT (v 2): THEMES INCLUDED: NES dungeon NES title screen SNES dark world N64 gerudo valley (this alternates with the NES overworld theme once introduced)
  5. So I was playing with my microphone and started playing with filters and stuff on my voice to create different bass and percussion sounds and I ended up with this. I always seem to go back to video game music. I decided to see what people think 'cause I think it sounds alright. This is pretty much the first thing I've posted, so I have no idea if anyone will like this. All of the sounds are done by my voice through filters with a couple of percussion sounds done by snapping or tapping. Any and all criticism/comments/suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance!
  6. This strays a bit from the original version, but definately not as much as the arceus song. I made this one build a lot more than the others, but i know there are still a few imperfections. there were some really hard decisions to make on this song. I was going for a relatively synthetic sound moreover, which is why the violins sound a little wishy-washy. Anyways, please tell me what you think! Link to song: @Emunator Hahaha i got totally got up in that beat. i felt the need to keep at least one part of the main (first) four notes the entire song, as that is how the original goes. i totally understand where ur coming from; i had too many copy/paste add-on and not enough melodic changes in some parts. some parts felt really blank, plus its 5 minutes of it, which causes a bit of drag. thanks, i will work on all of that @SLyGeN Yes i have made plans to trully edit this; a new edit should be here over the weekend; i plan to shorten the less exciting and "dragging" parts quite a bit to make it more dramatic. also, at the end, i think i will go somewhere with that key change i was making. Idk about changing the 4 solid notes; it always kept tempo and sounded cool. anyways, i shall be working on this. @Cyril hahaha thanks if i had my editing computer right now i'd be working on this song. getting closer; i really have some good ideas for improvements on this one. lol i will make the bass phatter on this @ Evahn yeah im working on the bass and the repetitiveness. i ahvent had time to do much yet, but im working on it. and there is bass there, its just not very phat as of yet. i need to add more punch to it, and i will. i am shortening it and making it less repetative.
  7. This is one ive really really wanted to post. very, VERY synth filled, and the tempo is intentionally faster than the original. Its pretty loud, and some of the synths "bleed" at some points, but thats only for a bit more blended synth kinda thing. i'd say i need more solid attack on those tho. I feel this is one of my more solid mixes, but please, tell me what you think! Link:
  8. one of my favorite tunes from the sadly not-too-well known bomberman hero soundtrack. redial is a great sampler of jun chikuma's ambient and low key style, and cheesy as it sounds, never fails to give me a sense of warmth. i went with how i felt and came up with this.. hope you can enjoy original: remix:
  9. Hey not sure how to get my mp3 up here? Help?
  10. UPDATE: See post way below for latest version / details! I don't know why I put an exclamation point either - this is hardly exciting! (or if you're lazy, VERSION 2: http://www.box.net/shared/le508qxvfg) http://www.box.net/shared/3djqouevi7 (if you're still reading) Jeremy soule is like my hero. Alright, he isn't, but I loved his Total Annihilation and TA:Kingdoms soundtracks - the former representing epic war theater and the latter an ethnic grab-bag, or something. So, to honor this bloke, I've started on an electronica remix of one of Taros' themes from TA:K. I could bore you with my personal life and my fondness for Lokken's side, but that will only get in the way of everything. I have no idea what style I'm going for. But expect some four on the floor. And. Previous sentence intended as is. I have two unconnected, unfinished parts at the moment. There are... no actual chords to speak of. And I'm still figuring out how to bridge the pieces and where I want this to go. I'll take any crits (I'm aware there's a little bit of clipping in the second half). I haven't even touched the ...middle part of the song that connects the repeated halves yet... but I will eventually. The name is up in the air at the moment, but I think I might go with the one in the title over the one on the file. edit: Source: it's pretty... sparse. I know, I've traded such intricate percussion for four on the floor.edit 2.5: my first post here woo.
  11. Obvious cheesy percussion and transitional issues to be worked out: http://www.syntesis.org/bank/Beast%20Like%20None%20Other%20(D1).mp3
  12. http://soundcloud.com/anti-syne Sorry if it takes a bit of time to load, i uploaded the wav file to get the best quality.
  13. Ok, so I did this remix of Lava Reef Zone from Sonic 3 one month ago and I decided to post it here. I really want to improve my mixing so that's why I'm asking for critics, feedback... and tips for mixing *I will add some rythm guitar later* Did I missed anything? Oh.... BOOM: http://soundcloud.com/thecoolguy2010/lava-reef-remix-wip ~Thanks~
  14. This one to me feels less like a battle song, the way i made it. this was the first remix i ever made, so i wanted to see what people would say about it. so tell me what you think Link: @ Emunator of course they're relevant! crits is what im looking for! When you say "rhythm guitar" you mean the totally repetative one i assume? i love the sound font it has for it. unfortunately a lot of sound fonts cant translate over to notation. i really thought my lead guitar was too soft, and had too little attack, but i now know how to fix that. same with the sax, i will add some attack to it. live guitar would be sick though
  15. A little tune I put together thinking of Bowser's Themes (mainly SMRPG's). Far from finished.
  16. I wrote this track with just a couple riffs in mind and i'm really hoping you guys can give me feedback on it. Its got a sort of progressive rock sound to it. At least i think that's the genre this song would fall under. I wanna add some sort of lead, maybe a nice keyboard solo or something to the intro to help smooth it out a bit.
  17. Okay so this mix totally deviates from the original.everyone on youtube has been saying to "post this on oc!" and "whoa thats amazing!" but perrsonally, i really dont see how cool it is. but you all be the judge of that...please listen to this and tell me what you honestly think here's the link:
  18. I'm quite new to using FL studio, but I've started making my own tracks that I want to create my own "video game like" soundtrack out of. I've tried to get listeners and help elsewhere, but that simply didn't work xD; I'd love some advice <3 One I recently made (video may still be processing): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfTj7XWCYbU
  19. Okay so this is the first remix im posting up here. i have a few more, so i will upload them later. i created this on garageband, and i want some critique on it. ...okay so i only have a link to where i posted on youtube: i dont have it on a share site, just on youtube. so please, listen and give me some good critiques! thanx link to song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfC1JxmIGNQ
  20. I know I mentioned this remix some time ago, in #ocrwip however, it's been a while. I have forgotten just what exactly people were telling me to fix...or what would sound better, so...I've decided to just post it here and...see how that goes. I now have a bit of time on my hands so...hopefully I can finish this and make it sound as good as possible. Anyway, this is a remix of from Faxanadu.Enjoy!
  21. Hello I have never ever never ever never EVER written any kind of music in my life ever but I wanted to learn how to make chiptunes at least a little bit. I had some issues with FamiTracker so I'm now using LittleGPTracker on my PSP. I thew this together on the train in about 20 minutes and I think I might actually wanna turn this ~30 second intro into a full song. http://atmuh.com/music/Buried%20Alive%20(WIP).mp3 But yeah since this is the first thing I've ever done any comments as to how it is HORRIBLE AND NEEDS TO BE CHANGED IN XXXX WAY is greatly appreciated.
  22. Hey, This is basically the Age of Empires III Theme, which is orchestral style music, remixed into... well, orchestral style music. I wanted to try something more challenging, instead of changing it into some far-removed genre and making things a whole lot easier, I tried re-arranging it for orchestra as well. Oh who am I kidding -- I like the music, I like doing orchestral stuff, therefore this popped out. Well, anyway, the strings audio didn't really export very well (I've no idea why actually; probably due to a lousy soundcard or a lousy computer), but it's a WIP, so I'll fix that later I guess. About the remix, it's supposed to start off as a prelude to war, before the fighting starts, and then at the end people die and it becomes sad and all. I haven't thought of what will happen after that but yeah, that's basically it. Anyway, to come to the end of my rant, comments would be greatly appreciated Remix: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2mywg2zokdn http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VFSTZ0LL Source:
  23. Two remixes on the go at one time... a good thing? I dunno. I started this partly just to play around with some of the instruments in the soundfonts I use, partly to test the Delay FX which had been suggested for use in my "Ride of the Hero" remix, and now sort of a break from the aforementioned remix so I don't go crazy focusing on a single thing. Anyway, it is by no means complete, so any suggestions or comments on that front would be most helpful. Enjoy.
  24. Alright, I wasn't going to release this, but I like it so much I feel that I should share it. It's a hard house remix of the chemical plant zone from sonic 2 that is more "club friendly" than my cheetahmen II mix, but it's still in that vein. It was originally a sound check of sorts to see how I want my debut album to sound - so if you're into this, chances are you'll like my originals. (when they get released...) anyway, enough talk, I'll let the music speak for itself. http://soundcloud.com/prototyperaptor/chemixtrixx-sonic2-chemicalplant enjoy
  25. http://tindeck.com/listen/nyeg Oh so very rough version. Will update over time. Feel free to crit as appropriate Source:
